~Normal POV~

It was the next day and Lucy was just chatting with Levy about books and such.

But little did they know that Lisanna was listening on to their conversation.

Mira was there with her and has told her many times to not obsess over people who are 'close' to Natsu and that she should forget about him and start looking for other guys,

*Cough* Bickslow *Cough*

but she wont listen.

"Don't you just love Jared?" Said Lucy as they were talking about the book she lent Levy.

"Yes and don't you hate it when people say 'how can you love a character when you haven't even seen them?' It's like, have you read their description? Have you read the way they speak? Have you read about the things they love and hate??" Levy over exaggerated. Lucy giggled at her actions.

"Can't they talk about something else?" Asked Lisanna.

"Now now Lisanna. You know its not nice to eavesdrop on peoples conversations." Warned Mira.

"Yeah but I just don't think we can trust her yet ya know? Now shush."

"So your going to sing for the final act of the talent competition right Lu-chan?"

"Yeah but I still don't know what song I should sing. Either 'kimi to kare to boku to kanojo to' by breathe or flashlight by Jessie J."

"Why don't I help you practice? We can start tomorrow at your place!" Levy was getting excited about their future plans and Lucy was a bout to say 'yes' when she remembered.

"I can't tomorrow." Lucy said sadly.

"Why not?"

"Um...Natsu's little sister Wendy invited me over to their place for movie night tomorrow.

Crush! Went Lisanna's Starbucks nonfat soy latte she was holding, making if overflow on her hand and onto the table, followed by an 'oh my' from Mirajane.

"So he rejects me but invites her over to his house for movies." She said though gritted teeth.

"Oh, that's alright we can just practice on Monday after school." Levy said.

The day went on as its usual boring self until it was dismissal time.

"Yo Luce! Ready to go!" Exclaimed Natsu jogging over to her.

"Yup!" Lucy was happy having him by her side when she would walk to her work. "What about Wendy?"

"Oh, she's doing a project with Romeo"

"Wait! Natsu!" Called Lisanna running to Natsu only to cling on to him earning and oof from him. "Let's all go together!" Natsu was a little awkward with her hugging him like that but he didn't want to be rude and just push her off.

"Um, sure..Luce you okay with it?" Lucy was a little distracted but came back to earth to answer.

"Yeah, sure." Was all she said.

"Great, then let's go!" Lisanna let go of Natsu making lucy let out a breath she didn't know she was holding in.

As they walk, Lisanna was in between them.

"So Lucy, you're going to be singing as the finally act, right?"

"Huh? Oh, yeah I guess I am."

"Aren't you scared though?"

"W-What?"

"Lisanna.." Natsu warned in a low voice but she acted like she didn't hear him.

"Yeah, most people don't sign up for the finally act because they're scared about messing up, you know, like missing a step, or their voice cracks at some point."

"Lisanna." Natsu said in a normal voice but she still didn't listen.

"Like this one time, a kid was dancing and almost ended up falling on his face! haha! Everyone wouldn't stop talking about it!"

"Lisanna!" Natsu shouted.

"What?" She asked in an innocent voice like she had done nothing wrong. With so much talking, they had already reached 'The Sugar Fairy' without noticing.

The whole time Lucy didn't turn around, she knew Lisanna was doing it on purpose but she didn't know why. Lucy felt her old self coming back and she wanted to say so many things to her...

"You know what Lisanna, why don't you just-" She stopped herself when Natsu looked at her. Before she could say anything that would only make Lisanna feel satisfied with herself, she bit her tongue.

Tightening her hands into fists, she took a deep breath and gave her the most obvious fake smile. "I have to go to work. Bye." Turning on her heals, Lucy walked to the front door and entered the shop without another word.

"Oh, well. Lets go Natsu." Lisanna started walking away but Natsu grabbed her wrist stopping her.

"What the hell was that all about?!"

"What?" She asked dumbly making Natsu lose his patience.

"You know exactly what I'm talking about Strauss!" Everyone knew Natsu was serious when he would call someone by their last name.

"I was only telling her the truth. And I still don't trust her yet so I wanted to see how she would react."

"She's finally having a somewhat normal life here and she's starting to trust us and there you go saying things that are obviously trying to provoke her!" Lisanna has never seen Natsu defend someone so much like now, this made her angry.

"Natsu do you...Like her?" Natsu's expressions started to soften and a light blush appeared on his face.

"Wha-What?? No! no, were just childhood friends! I'm just looking out for her as a friend!" He said.

Why am I getting so worked up about this?

"Well, you know why I don't trust people so easily Natsu." Lisanna sighed remembering what happened in the past. Natsu remembered as well and lightened up on her.

"Yeah I know. You just got to see that Lucy isn't like that. Alright? Just trust me on this."

"Yeah alright. I've got to get going. Bye bye." She gave him a quick peck on the cheek and left skipping off in the other direction. Natsu wiped his cheek and continued making his way back home.

Wait...if she lives in the other direction, why did she even come with us?? *sigh* oh well.

Ugh! Natsu Your not helping me here! I'm gonna have to take drastic measures.

Lisanna thought as she takes out her phone and dials a number she hasn't called in a while.

"Hello?"

"Hey cousin!"

Meanwhile...

Lucy shuts the store doors and listens to the rest of the conversation that Natsu and Lisanna are having outside. After they say goodbye to each other, Lucy goes to the back room to change into her uniform.

"Hi Lucy!" Mavis greeted with a smile.

"Hi." Was all Lucy managed to say with a sad smile. Mavis noticed her change of attitude and decided to leave her alone for now.

The day flew by and it was closing time.

"You okay?" Mavis finally asked.

"Yeah I guess."

"'I guess'?" She repeated. Lucy sighed and explained what happened. "Oh~, I see. So what if she doesn't trust you? You have a bunch of other friends that do."

"That's true.." Lucy started to think back to how kind and considerate Juvia, Fray and Gajeel were.

"And I think its sweet that Natsu defended you like that."

"Yeah.." Lucy finally showed a small smile and this made Mavis happy.

"And might I add....To me, it looks like you've fallen for him."

"Wha-What???" Lucy said surprised by her comment.

"Yup. You look happier when you talk about him and you're full of life when he's around you."

"Bu-But I told you before, we're-"

"Just friends? You keep telling yourself that but I see it other wise.." That being the last word on the topic, they finished cleaning the shop and headed home.

"Goodnight Lucy!" Said Mavis waving goodbye.

"Bye Mavis." As Lucy walked home, she thought to herself.

Falling for Natsu? That's.... Impossible.
