*Knock Knock Knock!* Was heard at the Dragneel's residence.

"Oh hi Lucy!" Greeted Grandeeny.

"Hi aunt Grandeeny! Is Natsu here?" Lucy asked with a smile.

"Yeah, he's probably just in his room, can you go call him? It's just that I'm in the middle of helping Wendy with a school project."

"Sure, where is his room?" Lucy asked as she entered the house.

"Right down that hall, the last room."

"Okay." Lucy made her way past the living room and down the hall. Once she arrived to his room she hesitated in knocking but did it anyway.

*Knock, knock, knock*

"Ugh, Coming~" Lucy could barely hear him say. Suddenly he opened the door quickly revealing a just woken up Natsu with a white tank top and some shorts while rubbing his eyes from the change of lighting.

"Geez, why are you waking me up so earl-" That's when he noticed who was at the door. "L-Lucy?!"

"U-Um, hi Natsu. I can see you're not ready yet.." She looked away trying to hide her reddened cheeks.

"Damn! My alarm didn't go off?? Wait in the living room I'll be out in just a second!" He quickly closed the door and started scrambling around for his cloths.

Meanwhile...Grandeeny and Wendy were in the kitchen eating some Oreos.

"I don't have a school project mom." Wendy said while dumping her cookie in her milk.

"But Lucy doesn't know that." She had a big smile on her face as she took a bite. "But I do remember Natsu putting his alarm on last night, I wonder what happened." She looked to Wendy with an eyebrow raised.

"I have no idea." They gave each other a hi-five with a smirk plastered on their faces but that made Wendy's cookie fall in her milk.

"Nooo~!" She cried with a pout on her face.

Back to Natsu. He was almost done getting ready--almost stepping on his cat Happy several times--and put on his shoes.

"Luce I'm ready! Lets get goin-wa!" He tripped on his shoe lace making him fall on the floor. Lucy got up from the couch and started giggling.

"You know you have to tie your shoes right?" Natsu quickly sat up fixed his shoes and pushed Lucy out the house before his mother could say anything embarrassing.

"I'm coming home late, bye~!" He called out behind him.

Once they were outside Natsu looked in aw at the car.

"Well, we should get going." She took out the car keys and unlocked the car making a beep, beep sound.

"We're riding this??!" He was practically drooling over it as he made his way to the co-pilot seat.

"Yup, this was my car when I would live with my dad. She's my precious Michelle!" Lucy exclaimed as she laid half of her bod on the hood as if she were hugging it.

"You know how to drive?" He asked with an eyebrow raised.

"Course I do! Now come on, we can't be late!" They both got in the car and Lucy started the engine.

A while passed by in silence and Lucy started to get bored.

"Here, connect my phone please." She handed it over and Natsu plugged it in.

"What song do you want?"

"Just press shuffle." And that he did. The music started playing.

I let you see the parts of me that weren't all the pretty,

"Pink?" Natsu asked.

"Yup! Just like your hair." She added with a giggle.

"Salmon. It's salmon. How come no one can see that?" He repeated.

"Yeah yeah, quit complaining and sing with me!" She said happily. Natsu shrugged his shoulders and went with it.

"🎶Just give me a reason, just a little bits enough. Just a second were not broken just bent and we can learn to love again!🎶" They sang.

When they finished Natsu took the phone and choose a different song. And with a triumphant smile he said

"My turn." Looking threw the songs, he finds one that caught his eye. "Good life by Three days grace?!" He quickly pressed play

Ohhh, the good life!🎶" Natsu sang at full volume.

"You know, you're not that bad at singing." Lucy said as she kept rocking her head to the beat of the song.

"Really? That's a shocker." They both laughed and kept singing other songs until they reached the Heartfilia residents.

"Welcome to my home." Lucy said while stretching her arms out.

"This place sure brings back memories." As they're walking to the main doors, Lucy noticed the new tombstone next to her mothers.

"Hi mom. Hey dad." She greeted as she kneels before them. Natsu stood by her side not really knowing what to do in these kinds of situations.

"Sorry I haven't visited you that often mom. But at least dad's there to keep you company." She slid her hand over the stone feeling somewhat warm.

"Oh, right. I almost forgot." Lucy turned to look at Natsu. She grabbed his hand and tugged a bit so he would sit.

"This is Natsu. Remember mom? You know, that little boy with pink hair that would eat all our food, or run around the house in mud?" Lucy giggled.

"Sal-mon." Was all Natsu said.

"Well, he's all grown up now. I'm also happy to say that we're really good friends again." Lucy gave him a small smile making him blush slightly.

"U-Um, hi Mr. And Miss. Heartfilia. it's been a while...I've never really been good at this but, all I have to say is that, I will stay by your daughters' side and take care of her, so don't worry about her getting into any trouble because I'll be right there with her."

"Lady Lucy!!" All of her old servants cheered while rushing to her to give her a hug. "Your presence was missed so much these last few months!" Spetto cried.

"I'm sorry I had to leave and all, but right now I have to see-"

"Mis Lucy." Lucy stood up and took a step forward.

"Hello Lahar." She greeted with a bow. Nastu found it weird seeing Lucy act all formal, he was to used to seeing her act all spontaneous and happy with everyone at school.

"Mis Lucy, please come to your father's study room."

"Of course." She said seriously. Natsu started walking close behind her but was stopped when Lahar placed his hand in front of him.

"I'm sorry but this is only for Heartfilia family members."

"Hey pal I'm here-"

"As my witness." Lucy finished before her hot headed friend started anything. "I requested a witness when I would read my father's will. So please, may we continue." It was more of an order then a question.

"Of course.." Lahar lead the way as they entered the house and went to her fathers huge office. "Please take a seat."

Natsu could already see Lucy's hands slightly shaking. He stretched out his arm so that he could lay it on top of her's. he rubbed the top of her hand with his thumb reassuring that everything was going to be fine.

"From what it says here, Mr.Heartfilia is leaving everything entrusted to you and..." Lucy lifted an eyebrow.

"And~?" She urged to continue.

"Oh, no never mind. My mistake. There is also a note apart I think you should read." Lahar handed her the note. Lucy decided to read it out loud.

"To my dearest daughter Lucy. I am sorry you have to read this, because it means I'm no longer with you.

I know I wasn't the best father to you but I'm happy that to know that you'll at least be in the care of my old friends the Dragneel's.

I'm sure things would have been different if your mother had stayed with us. Maybe you would have lived a happier life.

But I'd rather not spend my last moments talking about what would have been. All I really want to say is that I love you. I will always be watching over you, never forget that.

I'm leaving something for you with all my heart. I think you'll know what to do with it when you see it.

I wish I could have stayed with you longer but I bid you farewell. And Happy Birthday....my little Lucy.." Lucy was on the brink of letting her tears fall.

"This is what your father left you." Lahar handed over a wrapped up box with a tag that says 'happy birthday'.

She quickly rips it open and finds a fancy blue box with a little hook to lock it. When she saw it, she understood completely what he wanted her to do.

"He wants me to write him letters like I do with mom.." Tears overflowed and she held the box tightly to her chest as she sobbed over the loss of her father.

"I'll give you two a moment.." Lahar said as he left the room.

Natsu got up from his seat and went over to Lucy and hugged her as she kept sobbing into his chest.

"Don't worry Luce, I'll be right here when you need me." Natsu whispered to the crown of her head.
