Lucy's POV

*RINGGGGGGGGG*

"We'd better get going back to our next class." I said standing up slowly.

"Okay but let me take you to your class at least." Juvia said while helping me up.

As we were walking down the hall, I remembered something...

I have two hours of the same class! His just means I'm going to be late.

Great.

I decided not to mention it to Juvia because I don't want her to worry about it. We made it to my elective class which was chorus.

"Are you sure you don't want me to change classes to be with you just in case?" She asked letting me go.

"Na, don't worry. Go on to your class, don't want to be late, right?" I said with a smile.

"Guess not."

"Thanks for helping me out. See you at lunch?"

"Yep! Ja ne~!" She said walking away. I sighed and started thinking about what I was going to say to miss Lyra.

Great, now I have to tell the teacher too, if not I'll get in trouble.

Taking a deep breath I knocked on the door and waited for Miss Lyra to open it.

"Mis. Heartfilia?" She said taking a step outside to speak to me alone thankfully. "You'd better have a good explanation as to why you are so late." She crossed her arms. I leaned in close to her to whisper my excuse just in case so no one would hear us. "Oh! I see, come in then." I entered the room and everyone was too busy talking to notice me.

Natsu's POV

Lisanna, Gray and I were talking when I saw Lucy walk in and take a seat with us on the risers. Lisanna and Gray said a short 'hi' and then continue their conversation.

"Oi Luce, why are you so late?" I asked.

"None of your business." She answered bluntly. I was a little hurt when she told me that and I guess she noticed because she immediately had guilt shown on her face. "S-Sorry, that was really rude of me, I-I didn't mean to." She frantically tried to fix her mistake.

"It's okay." I said while showing her a smile. She returned it and then the teacher stood in front of the class.

"All right everyone! Let's get organized~!" She sang clapping her hands to get our attention. "I want to Soprano's on my left side, altos after them, then tenors and finally baritone." The first hour we already defined which class each one of us was in. I was in baritone and I guess Lucy already knew she was a soprano.

Why you may ask am I here? It's because we are supposed to choose if the first half of the year we do chorus or sports. Gray and I decided to get it over with and chose chorus first. I didn't know Lucy was going to be here too. I guess that's an added bonus for me.

"Yes! Perfect! So now let's warm up!" The teacher said with excitement. She told us the tone for each group and then began. "Do |Do, Rei, Do|Do, Rei, Mi, Rei, Do|..." And so on.

Singing wasn't my favorite thing to do but I did it without complaining. To my right I could see Lucy putting her all into practicing.

When we were little, I would sometimes do a surprise visit to her house and I would find her singing alone in her room so I would wait in the hallway just to hear her until she finished a song because she wouldn't let me listen to her sing if she knew I was there.

After class, our group went to our usual table in the cafeteria.

"I have good news and bad news guys." Began Erza placing her tray on the table and taking a seat.

"What's the good news?" Asked Mirajane.

"We have the list for the people who are going to participate almost full."

"And the bad news?" Asked Gray.

"We just need the final act but NO ONE wants to do it." She responded with a sigh.

"Why?" Asked Levy.

"Because they're a bunch of wusses...." She muttered to herself but we could still hear her. "I-I mean, they say its the most important part of the show so they don't want to have that load on their shoulders." We sweat dropped at her rephrase.

"Lucy can sing, she could do it." I said bluntly.

"WHAT?" Lucy exclaimed almost choking on her food.

"Yeah, you can sing right? Just do that as your talent."

"B-But-" She was cut off by Erza.

"Great! Then that's fixed. Now after lunch you two need to start decorating the out side of the school. And don't worry about your classes, I already told your teachers you wouldn't be attending this period." She finishes while pushing up her glasses.

I could see Lucy was about to say something but the bell beat her to it.

*RINGGGGGGG*

"Well, lets get going partner!" I took a hold of Lucy's arm and practically dragged her out the school like the child I am.

"There are some supplies outside already, I'll give you guys the rest in a little while." Called out Mira as we left but I could clearly hear her.

"Thanks!"

We made it outside and there was a box with bunch of stuff popping out like streamers, balloons, tape, etc.

"So how are we going to do this?" Asked Lucy eyeing the decorative box.

"I have no idea."

Normal POV

There was a ladder leaning on one sides of the building wall and so Natsu took it and placed it on the end of the school wall. Lucy started climbing up with a string and ribbon at hand.

"Why do you get to go up the ladder?" Asked Natsu with a pout on his face.

"Because you were to busy playing with the decorations to start." Said Lucy while playfully sticking out her tongue.

Thank god I'm wearing shorts under my skirt. Lucy thought with a sigh.

"Hey guys!" Said Mira with another box at hand. "Here are the rest of the decorations." She said with her signature smile. "Careful Lucy, we don't want you falling now do we?"

"Don't worry Mira, I'll be careful!" Shouted Lucy from the top of the ladder. "Is this straight?!" She shouted with a red streamer in her hand.

"Just a little more to the right!" Responded Natsu. But little did they know what Mira was plotting...

Mira walked over to Natsu and whispered happily. "Make sure to catch her." Natsu looked at her with confusion as if saying 'what are you talking about?'

"Well, I'll be off then!" Mira waved goodbye to the both of them. But as she was leaving, she 'tripped' on the ladder making it wobble.

"Wa-What?!" Lucy exclaimed as she rocked back and forth. "Ahhh!" And that's when she fell off the ladder.

"Lucy!" Natsu shouted while running to her aid. Lucy was waiting to feel the cold hard cement ground slam against her back but instead she hit something muscular and warm. Opening her eyes slowly, Natsu's face was only inches away.

"Wow that was close." He said with a slight blush on his face, but he wasn't the only one.

"U-Um, thanks." Lucy said in a low voice.

"You're kinda heavy you know?" Lucy got a tick Mark on her head.

"Baka!"

"Lucy!" Exclaimed Mira as she rushed to her friends where Lucy and Natsu where getting up from the ground. "I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to make you fall into Natsu's arms!"

"Its okay Mira, it was just an accident." Said Lucy while dusting herself off. After that Mira made her way back inside the school. There was a small moment of silence between the two.

"Welp! We'd better continue if we want to finish this up!" Natsu said with enthusiasm. She gave him a small smile and nodded in agreement.

Time went flying by and they were already at the end of the school day and they had only finished the school entrance. They both took some steps back to look at their work.

"We did well Luce!" Said Natsu with a tired voice.

"Yeah! But we still have the rest of the entire school." She responded with a sigh.

"But hey, I couldn't have asked for a better partner! And we still have this week since its on Saturday." Natsu was trying to look at the positive side of things as he always does and Lucy really liked that about him. They gave each other a hi-5 and started gathering there things.

"I guess you're right. Well I'd better get going, I have to go work after this."

"Mind if Wendy and I pass by for a bite?" Natsu asked while getting his things. Lucy nodded a yes.

Without noticing, she got used to having Natsu by her side.
