Four: Secret Service

*Alternate Reality from our real world.*

...

Seto Hiroko POV:

After Superintendent Akita Ichiru left, Kousei sat on his bed that afternoon. He asked me, "Will I ever be okay? I can't go out yet. I don't want to be outside. I fear the outside world."

He's not crying but I know that he is still suffering inside. I touched his right shoulder. "You will recover. You'd soon be able to go back to the outside world, soon."

I made him eat and drink his medicines. He went to sleep after I cleaned him.

Before I leave him, I covered him with his white blanket and closed the lights of his room.

Whenever he sleeps, I always see how much his body had succumbed to the pain and agony that had enveloped him. His eyes were still blank and have no life in them. The next time he woke up that night, he's screaming and holding his chest in pain. His tears won't stop. It had been a long time that I haven't heard him scream. It could have been because of what Ichiru have told him. He made him remember it.

He always screams in pain when he remembers the brutal crime scene he witnessed when he was fifteen years old. He had already stopped screaming when I arrived in his room. He's just hugging himself now, like how I found him in his old home when he found his father dead.

I touched his shoulders and forehead after I approached him. He's having a fever again. He's cold and shivering. I let him out of his crouching position carefully to lay him down his bed. I covered him with his blanket and slowly, his blank eyes closed down. It's obvious that he's afraid at that time.

His soul isn't in his current room. He's far from this room. He's stuck at the bloody room where he found his father dying. Kousei, when will you wake up from your severe trauma?

...

(Five years ago)

"Seto-san, It's been a long time that I haven't seen my father. Do you think he'll be happy for me and will he let me know what his job is? He told me that he is a businessman," Kousei asked me as we walk on the streets.

I looked at him. "I am sure he's happy for you, Kousei."

Why does Takahiko hide the truth that he is actually a Japanese Secret Service Agent to his son? Shouldn't he tell his son that he is working for the government of Japan and his job is a dangerous one?

Kousei was five years old when Takahiko admitted that he is a member of the Japanese Secret Service. Being a businessman is a fake identity. Even though, He has a believable background as a businessman since they were supported by the government.

He's using it to infiltrate huge business groups, businessmen, terrorists, and other syndicates. He gathers information from all of them and sends the information he gets to the king of Japan. There were also times that he is a double agent.

They can also be assigned as bodyguards to gather information inside the Royal Family to guard them. I remember that he told us that he was ordered to protect a princess who had a secret, obsessed lover who meets with her and of course, the king is privy to whom she is meeting with.

...

I heard my phone ring for a few minutes. "Moshi Moshi? Who is this?"

"Hiroko-san, this is Takahiko. I know that my son graduated today and he's excited to see me. I planned to take him with me to protect him after knowing that he was being targeted but my enemy found me. Don't take him home. He's their target. Protect him for me," he told me while we are walking on the road for him to go back home.

I was shocked by what he said. I was about to take Kousei to drive him away from his home when in my surprise, I wasn't able to find him in front of me. I ran to look for him but I wasn't able to find him.

In the end, I hurried to go to his house and see if he went there. I hope nothing bad happened to Takahiko or to Kousei.

...

I was frantic when I arrived in front of the Arimas' House. I gasped in surprise after I saw bloodstains on the door of the Arimas' House.

A piercing scream resonated inside the house even before I open the door. I rushed to look for them after I heard Kousei's horrible scream. I know it's Kousei's voice. I never expected to see that he will be in a horrid condition.

I found him staring at me with cloudy eyes at their living room with his white graduation robes and hands that were stained with blood. I looked if it was his own but the blood in his graduation robes wasn't his.

"Kousei?" I asked. "Are you alright?"

He didn't answer me. His eyes were very empty. He's just staring out from the distance and he's hugging himself. He seemed to be protecting himself from someone I don't know.

Slowly, he cried out to me, "Dad... Dad... Please save him!"

I looked at where he was pointing out. That's when I saw his father lying on the floor with three knives scattered near him. I was stupefied to see his father's face lying on a pool of blood.

I calmed myself and so, I immediately called for police and ambulance.

...

While waiting, I covered Kousei with a towel. I took off his clothes that were covered in blood. He doesn't seem to be aware of himself after he saw his father in a horrendous state. I changed his clothes for him since he is acting like he's a doll. He is a huge mannequin for me. I cleaned Kousei's dirty and bloody hands with water.

His father was declared dead on arrival in the hospital. His death changed Arima Kousei so much. His death killed his soul and locked him inside his own shell. He was also hospitalized for so long after he fainted when he heard that his father passed away.

His heart wasn't able to carry the pain and so, after he learned of the news of his father's death, his heart stopped that shocked me and everyone else around him. The pain and trauma inside him might have suffocated him.

In his father's funeral and burial, weeks after he was released in the hospital, we never heard Kousei's voice. He kept on wailing and sobbing every day and night.

Nagi, Tsubaki, Emi, Takeshi and Watari all tried to talk to him but all of them informed me that Kousei won't talk.

He's a living doll.

His eyes were blank and he doesn't cry. It looked like he had numbed himself.

We never saw him play as a pianist in competitions ever since that time as his mental health is going worse over time.

...

Present Day:

I was changing Kousei's clothes when someone knocked that morning in my home.

"Who is that?" I asked after I went out of Kousei's room.

"Yukauchi Kenichi. I am here by the order of the Ministry of Defense. I have brought one of our psychologists and psychiatrists," he answered me.

I immediately opened the door of my house to meet them after I laid Kousei on his bed after I cleaned him and made him eat.

He wasn't moving all over again after he screamed in the middle of the night. Two doctors and a man wearing a suit.

The man wearing a suit introduced himself to me again, "I'm Yukauchi. Can we get in?"

I immediately let them in but after we got back inside my house, Yukauchi informed me, "We are assigned to help Mr. Arima Kousei by the government after we heard that there was police harassing you to force him to speak. They hired the best doctors and scientists to treat his nervous breakdown.

The Japanese Secret Service is assigned exclusively to help him avenge his father."

I was shocked by what he said. "He really needs desperate help. I hope you will be able to do it. Thank you for coming!"
