Remus waited for the counselor to talk.
Emile Picani picked up his clipboard, "I have a list of things to ask you about the name change."
Remus nods, "You said that in your email."
Dr. Picani nods, "Yep, but in your email, you didn't specify why you wanted your name changed."
Remus bites his lip, "I don't really feel like myself anymore."
"Can you clarify?"
Remus is silent for a moment. "I just felt gross."
Picani nods again, "Okay, you want your name to be changed in all systems, correct?"
Remus nods, "I wanna be Roman."
Picani smiles, "Then Roman you shall be."
Virgil stayed behind at his locker, 'Roman's acting weird.' he thinks. 'Shush, you've only known him for like, a day, this could be how he acts. This is probably normal.'
He looks at his makeup in the mirror in his locker.
'Did you see his face when you called him lovely?'
Virgil falters, 'Yeah, he turned really red. I could see it even with the foundation... I'm talking to myself. In my head. What the hell.'
Virgil grabs his stuff and heads to the vending machines in the cafe. 'Roman did look cute when he looked like that. What? Shush. You have a soulmate somewhere, maybe two, wait for them.'
Virgil ate in silence, focusing on the food instead.
'Maybe you don't have a soulmate.'
Virgil freezes, he'd thought about the possibility before, but it felt more real now.
'There might not be anybody out there who could love you.'
Virgil throws his trash and walks down the hall before running into someone.
His wrist was grabbed, and he was pulled before he'd have probably have hit the ground.
"Are you okay, Virgil?"
