Chapter 6
I realize that I do not like the hospital atmosphere as I sit in the emotion struck waiting room. According to both Paige and Naomi, Stephanie had cried her eyes out, which might explain why her makeup is making her look like a raccoon right now.
I stare down Randy, whom was chatting with Hunter. He was going to get his ass best if it was me who had to do it. Actually, I'm the one that plans to do it. Randy catches me death glaring him and looks away quickly.
"I think you're making him a bit uncomfortable, darling." Roman whispers to me and I sit back in my seat and cross my arms.
"Good." I mutter. "Damn snake."
"I'm gonna have to tell Colby if you keep using all this profanity." Dean chimes and I smile, my mind being taken off of Randy.
"Uh, excuse you. I am an adult mister." I say. They laugh and I find myself wanting to as well.
"Mrs. Lopez." I hear and I look up see Dr. Worth had his head poked into the room. He was his clipboard.
My heart sinks as I get up quickly and walk over to the doctor. "Bring them please." He says, nodding back towards Joe and Jonathan, then leaving the room.
I look back at them and snap my fingers. They look up and I wave at them to follow me. I leave the waiting area and seconds later Roman and Dean were with me.
"Follow quickly please." The doctor calls and I see that he was already making his way back towards the elevator area. I don't hesitate for a moment as I rush after him. Reigns and Ambrose follow quickly behind me.
The doctor holds the elevator door open for us and we step inside. "Alright," he says. He looks at all of us together. "We're trying to get Colby ready for the surgery and take him to the Operating Room but he won't let us give him the Propofol which is the medicine that will put him to sleep so that he can't feel the surgery."
"Did he never give into the anesthetic?" I ask worried.
The doctor just shakes his head. "I actually have no idea. It seemed that he did. And now it seems like it is wearing off more and more and we don't need to give him anything else right now because we don't need to mix anything with the Propofol."
"I'm so very lost right now." Dean speaks up.
"He's delirious right now. I'm not sure what he's thinking but he definitely doesn't want any of us anywhere near him." Dr. Worth utters.
"Ok, so what are we doing right now?" I ask.
"(Y/N), we need you to give him the Propofol shot. And I don't think he wants that needle anywhere near him arm so we need for Roman and Dean to distract him." The elevator doors open and we walk out of them and back towards the direction if Seth's room.
"How hard could it be to distract him?" Roman asks easily. "How much damage could an injured person do?"
"Actually, I'm pretty sure one of our nurses may be quitting because of how hard he got hit."
"He?" Dean asks. The doctor nods. Dean scoffs. "Make nurses. What a sissy. Rollins probably didn't even hit him that hard. But let me tell you, there will be Dirty Deeds if he decides to hit me."
"You are joking right?" Dr. Worth asks.
"There's no telling with the Lunatic Fringe." Roman says, laughing.
We see a large man walking down the hallway holding an ice pack against his head. Dr. Worth nudges Dean. "Nurse Palermo is the one who got hit." He says, nodding to the man who could easily tower Dean. Dean only shrugs and purses his lips.
I soon see room 591 coming up and speed up my walk. When we are outside the room, Dr. Worth stops us. "Alright, let Roman and Dean go ahead and go in so they can start distracting. (Y/N) we already have the amount of Propofol in a syringe for you to use. We'll show you how to inject it and everything." We all nod and the doctor givers Roman the go-ahead to open the door. We all begin to enter when the doctor says from behind me. "And please, avoid any broken glass." He says and I glance back to look at him.
"What?" I start to ask him but I run into Dean's back. I whip my head back around to see Dean and Roman both standing completely still, staring at the bed that Seth was lying in.
I take note in the differences of the entire environment. Two nurses stood in the room, as far away from Seth's bed that was possible. There was something that looked like a broken syringe that had been swept into a small pile and there was a pillow on the ground. I look at Colby and I was more startled than anything.
Unlike the last time I saw him, his chest was heaving faster and in a more violent way. He seemed to be loudly mumbling something incoherent. He was grilling another pillow in his hand and almost seemed to be threatening the nurses with it, though really it was only a pillow. His IV pole was leaning against the bed, liable to fall completely at any moment.
Roman makes a small step farther into the room. "Seth?" He says and Colby's head snaps toward the door where we all stood. I notice the grip on his pillow loosen.
Dean moves around Roman, whom seemed almost frozen, and walks carefully toward Seth. Seth eyes him warily as he crosses the room and approaches the other end of his bed.
"Wow." Was all Dean said as he approached the bed.
Roman approaches Seth as well. He gives some kind of a small smile as he looks at Colby. He takes a deep breath and shakes his head rather than saying anything.
Seth releases the pillow and grips Dean's shirt. He mumbles, his speech heavily slurred. "I need to get out of here." Both Jon and Joe raise their eyebrows.
"What?" Dean asks though he knew what Seth said.
Seth says again. Roman shakes his head. "I can't understand you." He says, stalling and distracting him.
Seth gives an exasperated face and the doctor waves me forward. He hands me a pair of gloves and I pull them onto my shaking hands. He grabs a bottle of hand sanitizer from the counter in a swift move that Seth didn't notice. He squirts some into my palm and I run it over the gloves, shaking off excess.
He gets a syringe from the nurse and holds it out in front of me. "Don't let him know you have that, ok?" He says, talking about Seth. "Just walk over. You can see the vein on his arm. If he looks like he's gonna move that arm, don't do it. Just stuck it in to about here," he says, indicating a part of the needle, which sends shivers down my back. "Then press it down slowly. Then just take it back out. Do you think you can do it?"
He hands me the syringe and I hold it shakily. "What if he starts freaking out after I stick it in?" I ask in a hurry.
"We'll try to call him down, but in that meanwhile you needs to inject the Propofol. It'll cause him to relax and render him unconscious in about fifteen seconds
My eyes widen at the fact. "Fifteen seconds?" I ask and the doctor nods.
My eyes widen at the fact. "Fifteen seconds?" I ask and the doctor nods.
"It's completely safe. Very effective." Dr. Worth shrugs.
I blink a few time. "Wasn't Propofol the drug that killed Michael Jackson?" I ask pointedly.
The doctor places his hand on his forehead and sighs. "Yes, only because it was in the hands of a fool." He says frustrated.
I tilt my head to the side then shrug. "That could be argued." I say and the doctor laughs.
I look back over to Colby realizing slowly that I was about to have to give him the Propofol. The doctor follows me to the bed and Seth looks over at me. "You have to get me out of here babe." He breathes out to me, eyeing the doctor warily. The doctor gives a weak smile and a small wave as he stands behind me.
Seth looks back over to Joe. He says something generally incoherent this time and Roman raises a questionable eyebrow. Seth becomes clearly frustrated.
I out my hand on his arm but he ignores it. The doctor taps a part of Seth's arm lightly and I nod, knowing that's where it needed to be injected. He lightly pressed Colby's arm to the bed but Colby continues to ignore the both of us, trying to get Dean and Roman to get him out of the hospital. He had never liked going to the doctor.
I try to make my hand stop shaking as I bring the needle to the crook of his arm. I take a deep breath and insert the needle.
Seth's head almost immediately snaps back over to me and the doctor. I begin to panic, though it was obviously a bad idea for the situation. "Take it; here!" I say quickly and the doctor hold onto the syringe himself and begins slowly injecting it. That's when Seth starts freaking out himself. He groans something that I'm sure was a curse and I wince. Before he can yank his arm, I press my lips to his temple.
"It's ok." I say. He stiffens under me as the doctor takes his precious time injecting the Propofol.
"Could you maybe hurry up with that?" Dean yells and the doctor flinches.
"You can't inject it too fast." He says and I notice that his own arm had begun to shake lightly.
"But I'm sure you could go a little faster." Roman says and I could tell he was struggling not to raise his voice. He had both of his hands pressed to Seth's clavicles, keeping him from stirring around. He was trying to keep it to a light hold so he wouldn't hurt him but Seth definitely wasn't making his job any easier while he squirmed.
Colby had still yet to release Dean's shirt and was yanking on it in a frenzy, which didn't seem to be setting very well with Dean. He yanks again, harder than the other times and Dean glares between the doctor and Seth.
"If you don't hurry up," Dean starts and Roman looks at him.
"Dean..." Roman starts but this time Dean holds up a hand and points a threatening finger at the doctor. Dr. Worth glances up and looks like he regretted it as he sees Dean's expression.
"If you don't hurry up, I'm gonna make you fucking bend over, and I'm gonna reach up your ass and slowly rip out your spine."
"Dean!" Roman yells and Dean looks down, closing his mouth. But it was only momentarily as he continues.
"And I'm gonna strangle you with it." He says nodding. I glare at him.
"Go ahead," the doctor says, pulling the needle from Seth's arm. Seth's grip on Dean's shirt slowly real eases and his eyes close. Roman removes his hands from him and I lift up. The doctor disposes of the needle and takes off his gloves, patting Dean on he shoulder. "Make my day."
Dean gives him a threatening look that soon turns into a smirk and a nod. "Son of a bitch."
"Thank you all so much, we're gonna go ahead and get this surgery done."
I sigh and look down at Seth whom looked almost peaceful. Roman places Seth's arm back by his side and I give him a a smile. Jonathan and Joe both nod as their gazes linger on Seth's motionless body, only his chest rising and falling indicating that he was alive.
"How long is the surgery going to take?" I ask.
"I'll be honest; the surgery takes a few hours to do." Dr. Worth explains and I nod. "Don't worry, we'll tell you when he's out of surgery and all."
I nod and Reigns and Ambrose come to stand by my side.
"So I'll see you all when he's out?" He asks and each of us nod. Dr. Worth nods himself. "Alright, once again, thank you for your help and we'll see you then."
I nod then turn and leave the room.
