How did this happen?

A/N: Ok so I'm changing the ages a bit so its,

OC- (earth age- 20) Star wars age- 15

Obi-wan- 20

Anakin- 10

If I had known that I was going to die today I probably would have done a lot of things differently. I wouldn't have taken my shower for granted. I will tell you that much. Or how many times I had told my mom I loved her. But it happened and I died. Of course, I would have preferred to go out better but you can't really pick and choose how it happens..well..there's one but I'm going to stop because I'm getting away from what I'm trying to write here. I died and that's all I am going to tell you. I am writing this diary in English so that no one else can read it and figure out the information that I know. Where I am at, they have no idea what the English writing system actually is. So that's a plus one for me. But I should get started on telling everything at the beginning instead of starting off right now. So you know I died, in a very embarrassing way that I will not talk about. Put it up to your imagination. But I died and then it was kind of like I just woke up..It was the strangest feeling ever, like when you take a really great nap and wonder what year it was. I was alive again and well, at least for the time being, you never know what could happen in the future. I know everyone else's fate except my own. I had woken up in a weird cave after the events of my death. I was really confused and didn't know where I was. But I could feel a presence. Like it was all around me and it was peaceful. It calmed me as I closed my eyes and tried to get my bearings. Was this heaven or whatever waited for us after? It didn't feel like it. All I felt was sore and hungry. It was a bunch of BS in my opinion. I stood and groaned, stretching out my legs and arms. Then stopping to see I was shorter than I originally was. I was at least a couple of inches shorter and had on tan clothes that had a belt attached to my waist. It looked weird but the fabric was light and breathable. I looked around for anything that could help me get a good look at myself and found nothing. Sighing in defeat. It was just a barren cave. But then I saw the light that was at the end of the cave and followed it. Leaving my safe cave. Outside was even worse! It was just full of sand! Sand everywhere and no one there at all! I was going to die again! But then I saw in the distance a bunch of small buildings. That could be my best bet for the help. Or maybe my impending doom. But either way, I was going to try. I had nothing to lose. It was a long walk and I hated every minute of it. It was hotter than balls and the sand got in my eyes. Sorry if I'm complaining too much but I simply hated it. Some afterlife this was. I had made it finally to civilization. There were humans like me around but also aliens that looked to be like the ones from Star Wars. And that's sort of when I realized. Shit, they were aliens from Star Wars. I was trying my best not to freak out and cause a scene. Knowing well this place wasn't the safest to be it I was correct. It was Tattooine. I looked around and spotted a trio of travelers walking with a purpose. And I walked to get a closer look at them. Fuck it was them! I hid around a large pole and looked away. Then peaked round to look again. It was Qui-gon Jinn, Padme, and Jar Jar..and can't forget R2D2. I could feel a sort of pressure around Qui-gon and assumed it was just his own force signature. Since the force was a thing. Maybe I was a bit force sensitive. I didn't get it though. Out of all the afterlives I could have been given, why here? Why not Marvel or like, Pirates of the Caribbean?! I would have loved to meet Wanda Maximoff or Jack sparrow! But I was stuck with this! I stared at Qui-gon who was talking to Padme. It seemed they were on edge, respectively since they were on the run. But then I gasped, seeing Qui Gon turn in my direction. He was looking straight at me! Shit! I hid and started to run but felt almost stuck to the ground. He was holding me here! The older man walked up calmly and stopped just before me with the others in tow. "Would you mind telling me why you were watching us so carefully little one?" He asked in his calm voice. It's Liam Neeson, I was freaking out on the inside. Or it was his face but it was Qui Gon. I was so confused. "I...I was just uhm" I couldn't muster anything up. And he sighed. "You should run along and get to your family young one. They must be worried," he said with dismissal and you felt the force on your feet lift. "I don't have one," I said out of the blue. Why did I say that oh my go- "you don't have a family?" Padme piped up and looked at me with pity. "no...It is just me" I said and looked away at my shoes. "What is your name then?" Qui-gon asked. "Uhm..its..uh" I muttered. What was my name? I could remember how I got here, remember my mother, but why couldn't I remember something as simple as my name? "I don't know," I said softly. "HuhH? Whatta yousa mean yousa don't know?" Jar Jar squawked. And Qui Gon gave him a look that made him shut up. "I just don't!" I said and crossed my arms. Anger filled me. And fear. I was so scared. How was I going to survive this? "Why don't we give you a name then hm?" Qui-gon sent me a soft smile. The smile sent me a wave of calmness. And I took a deep breath, releasing my anger. "Alright, that's...fine," I said and looked between the three, R2 beeped, happily? I think. Padme thought for a moment and then snapped. "I got it, Freya!" I shook my head making a face, "Helena" Qui-gon added and I shook my head once more. Then Padme said, "mm, River?" It sounded good, and I had to admit I was a Doctor Who fan. "Then River it shall be," Qui-gon said. Padme smiled and it was infectious, causing me to smile back. "So, River, have you been here long?" Qui-gon asked, kneeling to look me in the eye. "Um..no? I dunno, I just woke up- I mean it feels like that hah" I said and mentally slapped myself. "You woke up? Little one, your emotions are betraying you, tell the truth, please" He asked kindly, "well I don't think you would believe me sir" I said and my voice broke, tears threatening to spill from how much I was feeling. I just wanted to go home. "Try me," He said and patted my head reassuringly. "I literally just woke up.." I said and told him about what happened but kept out the part of me dieing in another reality. Qui-gon looked puzzled. The gears turning in his head. "So you don't remember anything before waking up?" he questioned and I shook my head. He stood up and rubbed his eyes. "This needs to be shown to the high council.." He muttered to himself mostly. "River..would you like to come with me so we can figure this out? I promise no harm will come to you. I will help you figure this out young one." He said and looked at me with such wise eyes. "Yes, thank you...I can't believe you even believed me, it's a far-fetched story" I said and he chuckled. "Not to me. And you sound so much more mature than what you appear to be as you told me your story young one." He mentioned. "Huh? How old do I look?" I asked and Padme shrugged. "Maybe 15 years..you didn't know how old you are?" She had that same look of pity again. "No, I did not.." I said and sighed. This is just great, now I have to deal with teenage acne all over again. "Come we have to get these parts and then we can go figure this out," Qui-Gon said and offered his hand to me. I took it and noticed how small my hands were compared to his. We walked and stopped to look at all of the vendors, "Let us go to a smaller vendor" Qui-gon said and started walking to what only could be Watto's Junk shop. As we entered I could smell the grease and oil from the parts that were collected here and the stench of trash. Bleh. In flies Watto, "Hi chuba da naga?" He said and I couldn't understand but from what I could remember it was something along the lines of 'whaddya want?'. Qui-Gon was cool and collected. "I need parts for a J-type 327 Nubian." Watto nodded "ahh Nubian yes we have lots of that. What kinda junk?" He then called out again "Peedenkel! Naba Dee unko!" and in rushed a younger Anakin Skywalker. My eyes softened at the sight of him. He was just a kid. "My droid here has a read-out of what I need" Qui-gon referred to R2 and he beeped proudly. As Anakin was rushing to his master Watto, he flinched as Watto raised his hand at him. "Coona Tee-tocky mala?" Watto yelled at him. I couldn't quite remember anything they were saying but I almost had gone in front of Anakin when Watto threatened to hit him again but Qui-gon put a hand on my shoulder. I sighed and stopped. "Soo let me take-a thee out back. Ni you'll find what you need" Watto said as he lead Qui-gon to the back of the junkyard. Qui- Gon looked back and ordered Padme, JarJar, and I to stay there. I leaned against the long desk top Anakin was sitting on and watched as Jar Jar snooped around. It was sort of quiet between us all.. Anakin was cleaning apart and staring at the two curiously but mostly at Padme. She sent him a soft smile and it gave him the courage to speak up. "Are you two Angels?" He asked and I almost choked on air at that point. He asked what-? "What?" - "HUh-" the both of us said at the same time and Padme laughed at my reaction. Anakin looked kind of embarrassed at how I reacted and looked at the part he was polishing. "An angel! I've heard the deep space pilots talk about them, they live on the moons of Iego I think. They are the most beautiful creatures in the universe. They are good and kind, and so pretty they make even the most hardened spice pirate cry." he explained to them. I smiled. Jeez it was even sweeter in-person hearing him say that. It was something I loved about this movie, how innocent Anakin was. But then I started to realize the later events of the movie too. I pretended to listen to the conversation but started to think about how I could keep Qui-Gon alive. I didn't know what I could do...fake a vision? Maybe it could work. Just lie by telling him the truth. Ugh, this was going to be hard. I was snapped out of it by Padme. "River? You ok?" I nodded and sent her a smile. "That's your name?" Anakin asked handheld out a hand to me, "I'm Anakin! Anakin Skywalker but you can always call me Annie!" He said and I couldn't help but smile. "Nice to meet you Ani" and I shook his hand. Suddenly Jar Jar springs up and a bunch of droids were running around like weird Lil goblins. Anakin rolled his eyes "Just tap it on the nose!" acting like everyone should know that. Jar Jar tapped it and it collapsed in on itself and deactivated. Jar Jar makes a pleased noise and stuck his tongue out at the droid and we all laughed. Soon time passed and Anakin was telling us about how he was making his own droid. There was a spark in his eyes as he explained it and it made me happy to see him so full of life. I knew that I at least needed to try to change things the best I could. Maybe I could help Anakin and keep him away from the dark side. I know I can't prevent everything but I can at least try. I was determined, and I still am now (Gods I sound like a pick me, girl, now that I think of it "I can save him!" "LOok at me honey okkk, this isn't youu"). Qui-Gon came walking back "we are leaving," He said and Padme and the others followed him "It was nice to meet you Ani!" I called out and caught up to the others. "It was nice meeting you as well!" he said. I caught up to them and huffed. My little legs practically running to keep up. Qui-Gon was talking into this communicator thing while I watched Jar Jar cause a ruckus again I went and grabbed his hand pulling him away from the vendor, "Jar Jar don't!" I tried to be nice but Jar Jar just wouldn't listen and as a result, knocked me into the vendor with the food. Causing one to splash into some dude's food. He strode over to me and grabbed me by my collar. "Hey! Watch it you brat!" He growled. It was selbulba and man did his breath stink. "Uhm no sorry, but uh could you let me go please- your breath stinks- ah!" I was shook hard by him and he growled "Why you-" he was about to wind up his fist but was stopped. Anakin was there and managed to get me out of Seboobas or whatever hold. "Chess ko, Sebulba, Coo wolpa tooney rana" ( Careful selbulba, these guys are very connected). "Tooney rana nu pratta dunko, shag."(Connected?? Whada you mean, slave?). Anakin smirked and kept a confident air around him. "Oh da Hutt...cha porko ootman geesa...me teesa rodda co pana pee choppa chawa" (As in Hutt...big time outlander, this one... I'd hate to see you diced before we race again). The short alien scoffed and looked at the young Anakin with much hatred. "Neek "me chowa, wermo, mo killee ma klounkee" (Next time we race, wermo, it will be the end of you!) "Una noto wo shag, me wompity dupom pom" (If you weren't a slave, I'd squash you right now.) Sebulba said and then started walking away. I stood up with Anakin's help and he said "Eh, chee bana do mullee ra" (Yeah, it'd be a pity if you had to pay for me). I smile and give him a hug making him blush hard and I didn't really notice at the time. "Thanks, Anakin," I said and he nodded, and then saw the others walking up to us. "Hey! Your buddies here almost got turned into orange goo!" he said and I looked at Qui-Gon who gave me a questioning look. So Anakin went to elaborate. "They picked a fight with a Dug. an especially dangerous Dug called Sebulba" He said and I huffed. "I did not, I was trying to get Jar Jar out of trouble!" I defended. Jar Jar added in too, interrupting me "Nosir, nosir. Mesa hates crunchen. Dat's da last ting mesa wanten!" And he looked to Qui-gon trying to explain himself. "Nevertheless, the boy is right...you were heading for trouble. Thank you, my young friend" he thanked Anakin and Padme looked at Anakin with that warm smile again. Soon they were all walking and Anakin brought us to a food vendor. Offered to bring the old woman a cooling unit since she couldn't handle the heat that well. He was ordering the food when he accidentally dropped a coin. Qui-gon bent to pick it up and exposed his lightsaber. Which both Anakin and I stared at. I had never seen a real one before so I was rather fascinated by it. Soon the wind started to pick up. A sand storm. Right we were about to meet his mother. "Do you have shelter?" He asked Qui-gon. "We'll head back to our ship". "Is it far?" He asked again. Padme was next to answer "It's on the outskirts" and Anakin shook his head. "You'll never reach the outskirts in time...sandstorms are very, very dangerous. Come with me. Hurry!" and just like that, he led us to his home. By the time we got there, the wind was really starting to pick up. They all entered a small living space. "Mom! I'm home!" Anakin yelled and out came Shmi Skywalker. She looked at all the people coming in and she looked a bit startled by the sudden guests in her home. "Oh my Anakin what's this?" she asked her son. "These are my friend's mom! This is Padme and River and..uh..gee sorry I don't know the rest of your guy's names." He said and looked at the others. Qui-Gon went up the Ani's mom and introduced the rest. "I'm Qui-Gon Jinn, and this is Jar Jar Binks" And then Artoo lets out a little beep not wanting to be forgotten. I couldn't help but smile and patted the top of Artoo. "And this is our droid, Artoo-Detoo," Padme said. With the mentioning of a droid Anakin lit up "Hey! I'm building a droid wanna see!" he took Padmes hand and led her away but not before Padme grabbed my hand to take along with her. "Woah ok!" I said and was dragged along. But was stopped by Shmi, "Wait Anakin, why are they here?" She asked and looked a bit stressed by it all. "A sandstorm mom, listen!" and there was a silence that held the air but then was met with a large howling from the storm. "Your son was kind enough to offer us shelter" Qui-Gon explained and while he was talking with Anakin's mom, we were whisked away to see C3PO. He was still in the works and had all of his parts and wires showing. I smiled fondly at the droid. "He looks so amazing Ani!" I said and looked at the droid closer as he powered him on. "Thanks but he isn't finished yet" He explained. Padme had a smile on her face and replied as well "He's wonderful!" "You really like him? He's a protocol droid...to help Mom. Watch!" He finally flipped the right switch, and the DROID sits up. "I- oh my! Where is everyone!" The droid asked and Anakin let out a small 'whoops' causing me to giggle softly. Anakin rushes around, grabs an eye, and puts it in one of the sockets. 3PO looked around "Ah much better thank you," he said and stood up. "How do you do, I am See-Threepio, Human Cyborg Relations. How might I serve you?" he introduced himself. Padme looked impressed, and so was I. I could never do something so advanced as making a droid. "He's perfect," she said and Anakin grinned. 3PO went and walked over to Artoo. "When the storm is over, you can see my racer. I'm building a Podracer!" he said so enthusiastically. Jeez, the kid had enough energy to power a sun. Artoo lets out a flurry of beeps and whistles. Most likely talking to Threepio. "I beg your pardon....what do you mean I'm naked?" The taller one asked. Artoo continued to beep again and Threepio gasped. "My parts are showing? Oh, my goodness. How embarrassing!" and he tried to cover himself. I let out a small laugh and watched. Anakin saw this and smiled too. We all were soon gathered around a small table, eating dinner. I had eaten my portion fast since I felt I hadn't eaten in days. And drinking as much water as I could. Qui-Gon had an eye on me that I could strangely sense. Shmi was explaining the reason why they couldn't just up and escape this place. "All slaves have transmitters placed inside their bodies somewhere," she said as she poured me some more water. "I've been working on a scanner to try and locate them, but no luck" Anakin chimed in. I frowned and looked at my empty bowl of soup. Thinking of how it would be possible to remove that or even try to save Shmi. It was long before she is met with that horrible fate but it was important to plan ahead for this. And as I sat quietly thinking about it they continued the conversation. "Any attempt to escape..." Shmi said softly and Anakin interrupted, "...and they blow you up...poof!" both Padme and Jar Jar looked horrified hearing that. "How wude." Jar Jar said. And I nodded "indeed" and kept quiet. "I can't believe there is still slavery in the galaxy. The Republic's anti-slavery laws..." Padme was quickly stopped by Shmi "The Republic doesn't exist out here...we must survive on our own". Then there was this awkward silence that made me look up and snap out of my thinking. But then Anakin saved the day, "Have you ever seen a Podrace?" he asked Padme and she simply shook her head and I also did the same. I caught Shmi looking concerned about what Anakin is bringing up and I couldn't imagine the terror of seeing your child being in those dangerous races. Soon I saw Jar Jar snap his tongue out and snatch some fruit and apologize. It was funny but annoying...I was already tired and sore, and now I'm annoyed. "They have Podracing on Malastare. Very fast, very dangerous," Qui-Gon said and Anakin smiled a bit. "I'm the only human who can do it," he said and Shmi gave him a look. "Mom, what? I'm not bragging. It's true. Watto says he's never heard of a human doing it," he said to defend himself. Qui-Gon watched the kid curiously, trying to figure him out. He must have felt his force signature by now, I mean I think I can even feel it. "You must have Jedi reflexes if you race Pods" He commented. Soon I could feel Jar Jar eyeing another piece of fruit from the bowl, and extending his tongue to grab it, in a flash I grab his tongue with my hand. It certainly startled jar jar and everyone else but some laughed. "Don't..just don't Jar Jar" I warned him giving him a warning look. Qui-Gon watched me as I let go of him and wiped my hand on my pants making a face. I didn't really expect I was going to do that but it was like I couldn't help it. Qui-Gon probably had plenty of questions. Anakin then spoke up "I...I was wondering...something..." he said timidly. "What?" Qui-Gon answered. "Well, ah...you're a Jedi Knight, aren't you?" he asked. Qui-Gon smiled softly at the young boy's question. "What makes you think that?" Anakin looked at him knowingly. "I saw your laser sword. Only Jedi carry that kind of weapon," he said smartly and Qui-Gon leans back in his chair and smiled. "Perhaps I killed a Jedi and stole it from him," he said and Anakin shook his head. "I don't think so... No one can kill a Jedi Knight" and I flinched at that. I wish. Qui-Gon almost echoed my thoughts "I wish that were so..." he said sadly. But Anakin kept going happily, " I had a dream I was a Jedi. I came back here and freed all the slaves...have you come to free us?" he asked the older man. I wish that was possible, Qui-GOn sighed and looked apologetic at the boy. "No, I'm afraid not..." but Anakin pushed "I think you have...why else would you be here?" he asked and Qui-Gon thought for a moment. "I can see there's no fooling you..." he said and then leaned forward, as did Anakin to get the message. I could hear them easily though. "You mustn't anyone know about us...we're on our way to Coruscant, the central system in the Republic, on a very important mission, and it must be kept secret". Anakin looked amazed at this bit of information. "Coruscant...wow...how did you end up here in the outer rim?" he asked and Padme answered "Our ship was damaged, and we're stranded here until we can repair it" she explained to him. "I can help! I can fix anything!" he said sitting up some more. Eager to help them. I didn't really say anything because there was simply nothing I could say, I had to look like I knew nothing. And I was too afraid to give anything away. "I believe you can, but our first job is to acquire the parts we need..." Qui-Gon said. "Wit no-nutten mula to trade," Jar Jar said and shook his head. I decided to speak finally "Shouldn't these types have a weakness? An Achilles heel?" Everyone looked at me weird at the mention of Achilles heel and I sunk back into my chair, stupid stupid stupid. Shmi thankfully spoke up, diverting their attention. "Gambling. Everything here revolves around betting on those awful races," she said. Qui-Gon nodded and stroked his beard thoughtfully. "Podracing... Greed can be a powerful ally... if it's used properly." then Anakin bounced up, "I've built a racer! It's the fastest ever...There's a big race tomorrow, on Boonta Eve. You could enter my pod. It's all but finished.." Shmi looked less than thrilled about it. "Anakin, settle down. Watto won't let you..." she said. Anakin was still trying to persuade them. "Watto doesn't know I've built it" he then turned to Qui-Gon. "You could make him think it's yours, and you could get him to let me pilot it for you!" he planned. "This is a dangerous thing Anakin and your mother is clearly worried about this-" I said softly, actually being worried about the boy when I still knew he would be fine in the end. I still worried like crazy. Even though I knew how things would go, there was still a possibility my being here could change that and it could be a different outcome even if I don't try to change things." I will be fine River I swear I've done this a hundred times" He tried to reassure me. "I don't want you to race, Annie...It's awful. I die every time Watto makes you do it," Shmi said and looked upset. "But Mom, I love it...and they need help...they're in trouble. The prize money would more than pay for the parts they need," He said and looked at his mom. Using those puppy dog eyes every kid had. "River and your mother are right. Is there anyone friendly to the Republic who might be able to help us?" Qui-gon then asked Shmi and she looked at him sadly shaking her head. "We have to help them, Mom...you said that the biggest problem in the universe is no one helps each other..." awe man there it goes, he was indeed right, no one does really help each other. Not even in my own reality. Soon after a few more minutes of arguing and talking, Shmi gave in. I could see her looking so nervous and stressed about it. I felt bad for her but this was the only shot they had at getting out of here. Shmi showed us where we could sleep for the night and Qui-Gon had called me over for a moment. "How did you catch Jar Jars tongue so quickly young one?" he asked and I shrugged. I told him the truth. "I just did. It was getting annoying and it was bad table manners," I said and he chuckled "all right...have you ever been able to move quickly like that before?" he asked and I shook my head. That ended that conversation. He sent me off and I went to bed, but not before seeing him talk into his communicator saying something about me "The girl has..yes...we need to check...alright" and soon he put it away and went to bed. As did I

JUNK DEALER PLAZA- DAY

We woke up early the next day and the storm had passed during the night. We had an agenda so we headed straight to Watto's to make the deal. There were vendors and people in the street cleaning up the mess the storm had made and rebuilding their food stalls. Jar Jar and I were sitting on some boxes in front of Watto's shop. I was told to keep an eye on him so that He wouldn't cause trouble. The Gungan seemed nervous with me on one side and Artoo on the other as he watched everyone around him. "It's going to be fine Jar Jar, just sit with me and Artoo, look here we can play a game! I will give you clues about an object I see and you have to guess what it is ok?" I said and tried to at least calm him down and he nodded. " Hah! Easy mesa can do dat nosa problem" he said with confidence. And with that, we were playing eye-spy while Padme was arguing with Qui-Gon about letting Anakin race. I could hear them and tried to focus on what they were saying. It was suddenly like there was a speaker near my ear. "Are you sure about this? Trusting our fate to a boy we hardly know? The Queen will not approve" said Padme to Qui-Gon. I started to feel sort of tired and the voices got quieter after I stopped focusing. "Hey hey! River are yousa okeeday? Whats dha next clue?" Jar Jar asked and Snapped out of it looking at him. "Oh hmmm it's blue!" as we kept playing we saw the two coming out of the shop. "Did you do it?" I asked and stood up. Qui-Gon nodded "Anakin will be racing, now all we need to do is get back to his home and help him fix up his Pod. come along River, you too Jar Jar," he said and Qui-GOn held my hand. I didn't really get why he did but I felt safer. Maybe he could sense my anxiety, like the Jedi mind thing they do or something.

We got back to Anakin's place and I kept near Padme watching Anakin work on the Pod. Qui-Gon was busy talking to Shmi on the porch watching all of us but mostly Anakin. Padme was securing some wiring while I held the tool. It was a weird thing with a bunch of edges, almost like a wrench? I felt like I was back with my dad holding the flashlight as he changed the tire on his old Ford. Oh, what not so fond ish memories. Some kids looking around Anakin's age came over to inspect what was going on. "River, Padme, Jar Jar, These are my friends Kister, seek, Amee and Wald. All of us said hi and I awkwardly waved at them. I never liked talking and preferred not to unless necessary. Padme Kind of picked up on that the more time I spent around her. She would try to have a conversation with me but It would kinda just be an awkward one that went nowhere.

"Wow, a real Astro Droid? How'd you get so lucky?" Kitster asked. This gave Anakin a chance to brag. "This isn't the half of it. I'm entered in the Boonta Race tomorrow!" He said and the kids merely laughed at him. "What? With this??" Kitster snickered. "Annie, Jesko na Joka!" (you are such a joke, Annie!) Wald said and giggled. This made me frown. What bratty kids. "You've been working on that thing for years. It's never going to run" said uh well I couldn't remember the girl's name, wasn't it Amy or something? The other kid just laughed and grabbed the ball he was playing with. "Come on, let's go play ball. Keep it up, Annie, and you're gonna be bug squash" and they left. I rolled my eyes and then looked at Anakin. "Hey don't listen to them, they are just jealous of your mad skills my little dude," I said and I could tell he didn't understand me but smiled and nodded anyway. "Thanks?" he said and went back to work I didn't know what to do but sent two thumbs up and nod my head. He then saw Jar Jar and called to him. "Hey! Jar Jar! Stay away from those energy binders." he warned and JAr JAr looked up to him. "Who, mesa?" he asked.

" If your hand gets caught in that beam, it will go numb for hours" he warned yet again but of course, the Clumsy Gungan went closer to the beam and accidentally got zapped in the mouth making him yelp. He tries to say something but it's just gibberish. "Ouch-dats muy bigo Oucho". I couldn't help but smile and giggle at Jar Jar, his tongue was completely numb and sticking out of his mouth. "You are really pretty when you smile" That made me look up and it was Anakin who said it. "Oh Uhm, thanks," I said and fiddled with the tool in my hands. "Could I borrow that?" He asked and pointed to the tool in my hand and I nodded handing it to him. Our fingers brushed and I gasped, pulling away fast. It was like I saw a flash of something. It was dark and cold. Two bright yellow eyes. "Hey are you ok? River?" Anakin got closer and I stepped back holding my hand. "Yeah just Uhm..I'm not used to heat I'm getting dizzy" I tried to come up with something to explain it. Padme saw the commotion and came over, putting a hand on my shoulder and looking concerned. "River, maybe you should head inside. You are burning up!" she said as she put a hand on my forehead. I simply nodded and looked at the small house. Seeing Qui-Gon watching us. "Actually I think I'm ok, I'll just sit, I promise I'm ok," I said and moved away from the two. Sitting against a wall, far from the pod. Qui-Gon finally joined us and Anakin went back to working on the pod. He gave him something square-shaped but I couldn't hear what they were saying because I was off having to focus on not passing out. Was that a vision? I didn't think I would actually have one of those things. Those eyes were terrifying. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. It's fine, it's all going to be fine.
