The day Starscream met Megatron was the day his life began to take a downward spiral, although he didn't know it at the time. In fact, just then, his life seemed to be getting a whole lot better because of it.
His squadron of Energon Seekers had joined the quickly growing ranks of the Decepticons, under the leadership of a charismatic idealist whose words were like soothing honey to the audials and pulled others deep under their spell. He spoke of revolution and hope for the less fortunate and they gladly followed him.
Starscream quickly rose though the ranks of the Decepticons, right to Megatron's own right side as his Second. Megatron trusted him like no other, his loyal right hand mech. The Seeker couldn't think of anything that could possibly happen to make his life greater than it was.
And then he met her- he remembered that night like it was yesterday.
He was attending a rally in Kaon. He stood, alone, next to his Lord, perfectly happy to use his silver tongue to work the crowd in Megatron's name. The crowds were loud and enthusiastic; Starscream's circuits were crackling with the rush when she suddenly stood on the other side of his Master and his spark dropped into his tanks.
His normally sly tongue abandoned him in an instant. He found that he couldn't even begin to form words anymore, and luckily, Megatron seemed to catch on and took his place before he managed to embarrass himself.
"Hey," she said as Megatron took over the crowds. "Starscream, right?"
"That's me." Starscream swallowed, trying to avoid looking at her faceplates, yet unable to keep his optics off of her. "Megatron's loyal second in command."
"I'm Eclipsa." She held her servos behind her back with practiced discipline, like the daughter of a politician.
Starscream's jaw dropped. "You're Eclipsa? I thought-" he broke himself off, flushing in embarrassment and something else.
Eclipsa snorted. "You thought Megatron's daughter would be large and built and intimidating."
"Well, yes." Starscream's wings drooped for a split second before he remembered where he was and held them high again. "I didn't know you'd be so-"
"Dainty?" She offered.
Starscream blushed. "Beautiful."
Eclipsa's purple optics didn't so much as widen, and Starscream rushed to say, "But I'm sure you've heard dozens of mechs say that before."
Eclipsa vented, raising her optics to look far above her into the evening sky. "You're not the first, no."
Starscream averted his optics, visibly disappointed. "I'm sorry if I overstepped."
Eclipsa, unexpectedly, snorted again. "If you want to woo me, you're going to have to try much harder than that."
And then Starscream's spark went boom.
After the rally, Megatron approached him with menace in his optics that he'd never seen before. Starscream nervously lowered his wings, backing up nervously until he hit a wall.
"My Lord?" He asked, unused to the fear that ran through his circuits.
Megatron rolled his optics. "I'm not going to hurt you, Starscream." His stance said otherwise though, and Starscream found himself unable to completely believe his words.
"Um, thank you, Master," Starscream stammered. "Have I done something wrong?"
"Not yet, my dear Second," Megatron's optics glittered menacingly. "But if you lay a digit on her," there was no need to specify who he was referring to, "you'll regret the day you met me with every last drop of Energon in your chassis."
Starscream was shaking at this point. "I swear I'll never touch her! I swear it!"
"Good," Megatron glowered in grim satisfaction. "See to it you keep that promise."
From that day on, Starscream had gone out of his way to avoid the femme, even going so far as to actively walk away from her as she approached him with obvious intent to talk to him. Any attempt at conversation from her was ignored, although it was one of the most difficult things he'd ever done; Megatron's red optics flared at every movement he made, and even the smallest intake was monitored. Starscream couldn't escape those red optics or the blank visor that represented them.
Then one day his avoidances were returned in the form of a frustrated slap to the faceplates; shocked, he looked down into Eclipsa's furious purple optics, her chestplates heaving with anger.
"What is up with you?!" She exclaimed, optics flashing.
"Nothing!" Starscream protested, trying to walk away, but Eclipsa pulled him back in place.
"You've been avoiding me for three. Months. What the slag is wrong with you?!"
"Your sire warned me-"
"Oh, my sire threatened you, did he? Why are you listening to him?!"
"He's my boss!" Starscream defended himself. "I can't just go around flirting with Megatron's daughter!"
"I don't see why not!" Eclipsa huffed. "You're his second in command, you can do whatever you want!"
"I don't think you have any idea how Megatron's regime works, Eclipsa." Starscream was gritting his denta now. "I am his second in command, which only means I'm his first enforcer. I am merely an extension of your sire's will."
"Well, I'm his daughter!" Eclipsa shot back. "I can do whatever I like! I deserve it! I'm just as important as him!"
Starscream's optics widened nervously. This was a dangerous way of thinking, even for the daughter of Megatron; if he had dared say any of those things... he shuddered to imagine the punishment.
"Why do you keep trying to get away from me?!" Eclipsa exclaimed, gesticulating angrily. "I have the right to talk to whoever I want, you don't have to be afraid of my sire! I'm over you, I order you to stop trying to leave!"
"With all due respect, Eclipsa, I answer to your sire, not you." Starscream continued backing away, wings drooping nervously. "And if he says I can't touch you, then I must respect his wishes."
Eclipsa's optics widened in indignation. "That's all he said?"
Starscream nodded furiously.
Eclipsa's derma slowly curled up in a smirk. "He only said you couldn't touch me, he didn't say I couldn't touch you."
Without warning, she'd grabbed his helm and pulled him down into a kiss.
Completely taken aback, Starscream jumped away from her; his red optics blazed brightly in fear. "Are you mad?! Do you want me to be pulverized?!"
"No," Eclipsa sniffed indignantly, helm raised in offense. "But father will understand that I like you and he'll spare you."
Starscream gaped at her, hardly daring to hope as his jaw dropped. "Just a few months ago you said you weren't interested!"
"Well," Eclipsa winked, "I guess I've always been tempted by the forbidden."
Starscream ignored his feelings in favor of worrying. "We can't do this, we can't do this, it'll never work, if Megatron finds out about this he'll-"
"Just shut up." Eclipsa murmured and kissed him again, more passionately. This time, Starscream returned the kiss, servo holding her cheek. She moaned into his derma, stoking a fire inside of him, and he kissed her again with renewed fervor. His processor was spinning, his spark beating hard and fast, oh how much he wanted her-
Starscream suddenly snapped awake, sunlight streaming through his window directly into his optics. He grumbled in annoyance, spark still beating rapidly. He turned over in his berth, covering his faceplates with a pillow.
"Starscream?" Seismic's young voice startled him, and he swung himself around to see her sitting, with her legs crossed, on the floor.
"Primus, Seismic," Starscream scoffed, struggling to ignore the rapid pace his spark had set. "You startled me."
"I'm sorry," She said quietly. Then, "Starscream?"
"What is it?" He vented, settling back in his berth.
"Who's Eclipsa?"
Mwahahaha. I can't even tell you how I feel about Eclipsa and Starscream's relationship. I'm curious to know what y'all thought of it, though. On another note, I've been made aware that I already have a shipper. I'm curious to know if anybody else reading this has any ships so far; I enjoy being able to giggle in my room at theories, wrong or right. I hope you enjoyed this chapter regardless, and hopefully the next one will be out soon!
