Chapter 1: Change
Hey, I'm Elena Creed, and I have what you would call a pretty average life. I go to school, get good grades, have pretty cool friends, two amazing parents and an overprotective big brother. Now, you're probably wondering when I'm going to go on about the story of my life
(One Direction pun fully intended), but I won't bore you with all the details, so we're just going to move on. I wake up everyday with the same routine, but different changes.
But it comes and goes in waves. How does the saying go? "Sticks and stones may break your bones but words can never hurt you." Well, you now what I say to that; it's a bunch of bullcrap. Whoever made that saying needs to get a life. At Mayfield High there's only one way to survive, become "popular" or "be an outsider".
Personally I'd rather not be either, I'm more of a nerd as someone would call it, I stay up late binge watching Stranger Things on Netflix, doing math equations for fun, and playing soccer which is something I'm really good at. But I'm not gonna boast about it. My friends I halfway mentioned earlier are the only people who know me better than I know my own nerdy self.
Simon Andrews is one of my sophomore clique friends who is an artist, he loves any and all artsy stuff. He's not the typical cliche artist who only cares about what paints are the ones you're never supposed to use, or that he could potentially get kicked out of the art club for complaining about the quality of canvases he's smart and has good grades.
Henry Parker is the shy and soft spoken nerd who's been my best friend ever since kindergarten. He and I are two peas in a pod the rest of our friends say we're twins considering we act the same but Henry is the boy I swoon over. Yeah, I know, so cliche to be crushing on your best friend who plays basketball like something out of a cheap love story or one of the many fanfics.
Willow Micheals is my girl. She fills me in on all the tea floating around school, she is also very smart. But, then again, pretty much everyone in our group is. Of course, Willow is street smart just as much as she is book smart. She also loves soccer just like me, we're trying out for the team this year.
Christina Reynolds is my friend who I always go to when I need help with any emotional problems I have. She's like a therapist, and a pretty good one. She is the shoulder I can always lean on when I need to, and offers a good one to cry on too.
And lastly, Stanley Jacobs. He may seem like a closed off person, but really he's a sweetheart who helps anyone with anything they need. We tease him about it all the time, stuff like him wanting to help the little guy and taking the hits, but we commend him for it.

7am
I woke up to my alarm going off and so I get up and rush to get ready for school, I definitely can't be late on the first day of senior year I have to make a good impression luckily I picked out my outfit the night before the less stress I had on my shoulders.
After I got ready and did my hair I was flying down the stairs grabbing a chocolate chip muffin and an apple for breakfast and racing out the front door where I saw my older brother Anthony or Tony standing there looking down at his phone.
He glanced up from his phone and made a remark, "One more minute and I would've left."
I rolled my eyes, "Thanks for the muffin."
He looked at the muffin I had in my hands and looked annoyed while I smirked. "Rule numero uno never mess with me and my food or else you die in your sleep." I said.
"C'mon or else you're gonna be late El."
Then I got in the car and we were off it wasn't a long drive and before I knew it, I saw the famous Mayfield High sign and the school came into view I was excited this school was where all smart kids would go but it wasn't prestigious basically it's a public school for nerds and I couldn't wait for all the classes I'm gonna get.
Hopefully I'm with all of my friends in some of the same classes but I've got to think realistic about being on my own but I at least have to have Simon or someone! I got out my car waving goodbye to him and heading to my locker which is the same one I had last year when I was a freshman nothing is changing except me getting a new schedule but that's it.
After I opened my locker and checked my schedule I got my books and then I heard a certain voice headed my way, "Ellie!"
I turned and saw Simon and Christina my peeps, "Simon my bestie what's up?"
"Nothing much Chris won't stop bothering me about my classes."
"I'm sorry that I wanna know what classes you're all in! Hey where's Stan, Willow, and Henry?" She asked.
"Stan is here he's just checking in with the counselor, Willow is most likely gossiping with her other friends, and Henry is..." Simon trailed off.
"Right here." I turned and Henry was standing there behind me. "Hey El." He greeted.
"Hi Hen."
Whenever I look into Henry's eyes I instantly get lost because man am I head over heels for this boy. I looked to Simon and Christina who were smirking as I felt my cheeks flush. "Anyway I swear to god if you don't show me that schedule Elena I will go insane!" said Christina.
I held my hands up in defense laughing at the same time, "Alright Chris jeez."
I showed her my schedule turns out we have chemistry and home economics together, I have science with Simon and art with Henry now I just need Stan and Willow's schedule as if on cue they came running up to us.
"Sorry we're late Ms. gossip girl wouldn't shut up and come with me as you can see I had to drag her butt here."
Willow rolled her eyes playfully, "Yeah, Yeah Spider-Man."
"Stop calling me that just because I help the little guy does not mean I'm Spider-Man!"
Simon interjected, "But Spider-Man helps the little guy so..."
"Hush it Andrews." Stan threatened.
Simon smirked, "Make me Spidey."
"God, I hate you all."
"No you don't." I said.
Simon and Willow showed us their schedules with the pestering of Christina and Stan has science with me but I don't have any classes with Willow. Then the bell rang and we got to class.

Our classes went by smoothly considering Christina was bothering about our schedules but other than that it was a good first day after lunch I had art as my last period with Henry art was something Henry was absolutely amazing at.
He's got a real knack of getting something so perfect with every stroke of paint and every mark was executed perfectly I think I'm good at art but not as perfect as Henry.
His face looked so hyper focused it was mesmerizing gosh I'm gawking too much. "Hey do you want help?" He asked.
"S-sure." I stuttered out.
He set down his paintbrush and sat behind me grabbing my hand and using my brush to stroke up and down creating a forest and river making the colors mesh together looking so beautiful.
As you can probably tell I'm blushing madly I've got to keep this crush under wraps. Oh, who am I kidding that's so far fetched. Then he stopped and sat back in his seat. "There you go El."
We smiled at each other, "Thanks Hen."
"Y-you're welcome." He said.

After that, school ended and my brother picked me up and we headed home and I started my homework which wasn't much. Today wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
