~Gilly~

It's been a couple of weeks since Ellie has came. A lot has changed. Dad is now out of the hospital and I couldn't be happier. Kayla got an internship at her favorite boutique, Jocelyn is figured out a new potion, Ollie is Blackbeard's apprentice, and Maxine is helping out at a shelter. Did nothing good happen to me yet? Nope. But I hope it will.

Currently I'm at my boot helping mom make dinner (I'm only helping her because it's chicken pot pie, my favorite!) while Jax is playing with my siblings. I'm cutting up vegetables but get distracted by Jax playing with Han, Hamish, and Trixie. They're sitting on his lap and giggling at whatever he's saying. He catches my eye and winks. My cheeks warm up.

"Don't drool all over the carrots." My mom says with a laugh.

I glare at her.

"I wasn't doing anything."

"Okay."

I continue cutting when Jax comes over.

"Your siblings have a lot of energy."

I snort.

"Are you getting weak?"

He's gapes.

"Um, never."

My mom coughs.

"Sorry to break the conversation but we should finish dinner."

I groan.

"I have to finish homework."

Jax shrugs.

"It's okay I got it."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"Thanks."

I walk past my mom and she whispers, "What a gentlemen." I smile. "I know."

I run up the stairs to finish up my homework and flop on my bed. My assignment is who the most important person to me is. That's kinda hard because I have so many people in my life. But I already know who I want to write about. So I start writing.

The most important person to me is my best friend, Jaxon Porter. I know what you're thinking. A prince is best friends with a commoner? Well, yes. Without Jax I wouldn't know what to do. He's always there for me no matter what, he's funny, kind, and caring. He does everything for everyone. He also stops me from doing pretty dumb things. Also,

"Gilly! Dinner."

"Coming!"

I rush downstairs and start eating dinner with my family plus Jax.

It's the next day and me and my friends are hanging outside.

"Ah. That fresh air. Feels lovely doesn't it? We should hang out with Tessa and Raza Gilly!" Maxine says with a toothy grin.

"I'd rather die."

Just then Summer walks past us.

"Hey Summer!"

"Oh hey Gilly!"

"What's up?"

"Nothing. Just going to the hospital. I'm a volunteer there!"

"Oh cool I was just going to drop off some cookies at the front desk to thank them for helping my dad."

"Oh. Want to come with?"

"Sure!"

"See you guys later!" I say to my friends with a wave.

Me and Summer head inside to the hospital biking with the cookies in my arms. I look around to see a lot of people giving me pitied looks. Some are even whispering. Odd....

"Here you go Shannon." I say to the front desk worker.

"Thanks for being great to my family." Shannon starts to tear up.

"I'm so sorry honey. I'm so so sorry."

My eyebrows furrow together. I'm just about to ask what she means but then she says, "I'm sorry for your loss. Your father was a great man."
