~Gilly~

It was Friday and me and the crew were spending the time at Diamond Lake to celebrate the start of the weekend. Unfortunately, Ellie tagged along. Me and Jax were swimming together when Ellie yelled, "Hey Jax? Can you please tie the back of my bathing suit top. I can't get it tight enough." Jax gets up to help her while I roll my eyes. All she has been doing is spending time with Jax. What's the problem you ask? The problem is, she does it every SINGLE TIME I'm with HIM! I don't want to feel jealous. Trust me. "Hey Gills." I look over to see Jax standing in the dock smiling at me. "They're going to get some snacks and drinks. I'm going to stay down here. You wanna stay?" I get out of the water. "Sure." I smirk when I see Ellie frown in the corner of my eye. Jax smiles. The rest of the crew and Ellie (she's not apart of the crew. Over my dead body.) head up the stairs and back to FTRS.

Me and Jax sit in silence for a couple of minutes. Then I notice Jax staring at me. "What?" "You look shitty." That caught me off guard. When he sees my face he says, "I'm just kidding Thief. You look pretty." My laugh sounds hollow. "Like this?" He nods. I smile a bit.

Five minutes later we decide to cool off. "Ready?" I ask. "Ready." He slips his hand through mine. I blush. "Go!" We both run and jump into the water causing a big splash. I swim up and wipe the water out of my eyes. "That was fun." I look around. "Jax? Jax!" Jax wasn't anywhere in sight. I started to panic. All the sudden someone grabbed my arm. I screamed and slap the person across the face. "Ow!" Jax says. "Oops! Sorry. Reflexes." I say sheepishly. "Tough reflexes then." Jax says with an adorable laugh. "Gilly?" I didn't even I realize I was staring. "Sorry." He tucked a wet strand of hair behind my ear. Then I did something I didn't even expect. I kissed him. I kissed him like I've been waiting to do it for years, because I have. Time felt still and it felt wonderful. I pull back. "I-I'm sorry that was a mistake I don't know why I did that." "Gilly I-" "Um what's going on here?" I wipp around. To see Ellie standing there with her arms crossed. "Ellie." Jax says. "I-I got to go." I stutter getting out of the lake. "Gilly wait-" I don't get to hear what he says next because I run out of there as fast as I can.

I run through the halls and ignore Miri telling me to slow down. Maybe I should've listened to Miri because I crashed into a girl while running. "Oh my gosh are you okay?" I ask her. She laughs and gets up. "Yeah. No worries." She has long blonde hair that it's so light that it's closer to white. Her sparkling blue eyes were the color of the ocean. "Hey are you okay? You look stressed." She says. "Oh um yeah. I may or may not have kissed my best friend. I don't know why I told you that...." She gasps. "Wow. You gained points for that." I groan. "Not sure about that. I think he likes someone else." "You never know." "Thanks um......." "Summer. Summer Jackson." She says. "Gilly Cobbler." "You know what Gilly Cobbler? You need some cheering up. Let's go." She takes my hand and we start running. "Where are we going?" "You'll see!"

We keep running and then stop at Jack Frost's Frozen Treats Parlor. I look at her with a questioning glance. "What? Ice cream cheers everyone up!" We rush inside and serve our self some frozen yogurt. "Woah." Summer says when she sees how much I got. "Damn you must've really needed that." I nod. "Here on me." She says handing the worker money. "I can't let you do that." She shrugs. "It's the least I can do."

We continue to eat our frozen yogurt while walking around and eventually stop at a small pound. It was beautiful. The bridge over the pond gave us an amazing view. Fireflies were everywhere lighting up the night sky. "It's beautiful." I breathe. "Yeah. It really is." Summer smiles. All the sudden I hear footsteps and the sound of people talking. I turn around to see Jax and Ellie walking together smiling at each other. "I-I got to go back and study." Summer follows my gaze and grunts. "Ugh. I really hate Ellie." Before I can ask, Jax spots us. "Gilly...." I smile awkwardly but it comes out of more like a grimace. "Summer?" Ellie asks. Summer looks less than happy right now. "Hey." "You guys know each other?" I ask. "Yeah. Unfortunately." Summer says rolling her eyes. "Summer's my cousin." Ellie says with a smirk. I turn to Summer, eyes wide. She nods slowly. "Um well we should go." I mumble and fast walk away. Jax catches my wrist. "You don't have to go so soon." I can just stare at his beautiful violet eyes forever. "Thief?" "W-we're fine. Right?" Summer nods glaring at her cousin. As we walk away, in the corner of my eye, I see Summer giving Ellie the finger.

Me and Summer head off to our dorms and I immediately flop on my bed. I don't know what I would do without Summer today. I slowly drift off to sleep.

A while later, I wake up. I look at the clock and it reads 2:13am. I sigh. I try to go back to sleep but can't seem to. I get up to get a drink of water. I walk past Ellie's dorm room and see
