Chapter 12?

I just got back from school and am now using the only remaining brain activity I have left on this chapter. I hope you're happy.

Everything seemed to be in slow motion. My eyes widened as the person in front of me moved their hand, their finger reaching towards the trigger. My heart raced, and I was having trouble breathing. "D-Don't—!" I stammered. Their hand was on the trigger. I flinched. Suddenly, there was a whoosh of air, and the gun was knocked from the figures hand. The figure was stunned and for a moment, just stood there, dumbfounded. Finally, thery recovered.

They spun around, trying to locate what had sent their gun flying. Or rather, who. When they didn't see anything, they bent back down, reaching towards the gun. As they did that, another person ran into the room, silently. The figure who was reaching for the gun didn't notice the other person until finally, the person had moved close enough to them to knock them out with a swift, deliberate punch. The person looked up again, studying me to see if I was a threat.

"Lucas?" The person spoke.

"Huh? Yeah. How..." Their voice was familiar, but I couldn't quite place it. I couldn't recognize them from the hood they had on.

"Lucas, it's me, Aria. How did you get out of your room?" Aria asked, seriousness etched in every word.

"Uh... someone accidentally opened the ladder so I climbed up?"

Aria muttered something unintelligible and flipped her hood back, revealing her glinting, adrenaline filled eyes and dark brown hair, which was tied in a braid. She was wearing all black, heck, even her socks were black.

"Hey Aria? You there? What's wrong? Did you find Jacob?" Another voice called out.

"No, but I did find my recruit I was telling you about," Aria called back. "Come in, Neco. It's safe."

"Alright," the voice replied warily.

Another person stepped in, wearing all black. They had their hood up as well, so it was difficult to tell their features. The person scanned the room and looked back on the way he just came, as if evaluating a battlefield. Once they concluded it was safe, they flipped their hood up just like Aria. Neco was a black haired boy, with a surprisingly mischievous smile. His eyes were amber and bright with alertness. He bore some features that suggested he was Asian.

"So he's the one that you were talking so much about," Neco said, smirking.

"I wasn't talking about him that much," Aria said, blushing.

"Oh yeah you were," Neco teased. "It was like you were gonna leave me and go date him instead."

"Shut up, Neco," Aria said, her face turning even brighter red. "Anyway, Lucas, you should go back to your room. You have no part in something like this."

"What do you mean I have no part?" I demanded. "I'm in this organization too. Besides, that room isn't even safe. What's to say someone won't come in and murder me? From the looks of things, it's seems pretty easy to get into the room to me."

"He does have a point," Neco said.

"Yeah, but..." Aria hesitated. "It's even more dangerous up here."

"Take me with you then," I pleaded. "I'll try not to be a nuisance. Please. I want to help with whatever's going on here."

"Well, I guess you could help us search," Aria said slowly. "But just to make this clear, we're not gonna be babysitting you, alright? You die, your loss."

"Alright," I said determinedly. "So what are you guys searching for?"

Aria and Neco exchanged looks. Then, they spoke in unison. "Jacob is missing."

Guys, I don't know what to name Neco. Any suggestions? If not, then I'll just keep it as Neco but you guys can choose a name if you want and I'll change it.
