Destiny wore red that night
and my heart was wearing blue
so that is why I tripped in spite
of all that I was going through

The rain had drenched her hair
Her eyes were light and broken
and I was in her fateful spell
as it was sweetly spoken

The window had opened for me
on a chance I never had believed
until that moment as she smiled
on the most surreal of stormy eves

There I drank my spirit in
as she set to turn my heart out
and bring the storm into my life
and break my defenses down

Lightly stepped I to my doom
in the pursuit of fixing pain
If only I had realized it then
I'd have been better off
to curse the rain
