Lila ended up falling asleep on the plane. Nate had shifted her so she was curled up in her tiny seat and her head was in his lap so she could try and lay down.
It wasn't the most comfortable position, but it worked.
He woke her up just before landing so that she could sit up and he buckled her in.
Everything else happened in flashes.
Getting off the plane.
Nate grabbing her hand and pulling her through the airport.
Walking to where he had paid to keep his car.
Driving to his house.
House...
Nate owned a house. It wasn't huge, but Lila was surprised enough that she paused and looked up at it. He turned and smiled at her. "It's not much, but it's home."
She looked at him for a second, then back at the house. There was no garage, just a cement driveway off to the side. There was a spot for a flower garden out front that looked like it was dormant. It was getting to be that time of year, but Lila couldn't even remember what month it was right now.
Inside was simple. Beige and black were his colors of choice. The living room had a nice sofa and tv, a coffee table, desk, and a few bookshelves. A few pictures dotted the walls as well. Threw was a dining room attached to the kitchen and a door that looked like it probably led to the basement.
The upstairs had two bedrooms and an open sitting area where he had another desk set up.
"You can stay in here." Nate said, leading her into the second bedroom. It looked like it had never been used, but there was still a bed and a dresser in it. "There's only one bathroom up here, but once we get you some things, I can move mine downstairs and use that one."
Lila nodded as she looked around at the unfamiliar place. The numbness was coming back...
"Come on, let's get you in bed." Nate whispered, placing a hand on the small of her back to push her forward.
She didn't fight it. Nor did she fight it when he helped guide her under the covers and kissed her forehead.
"Get some sleep honey, I'm going to run to the store to get some groceries and a few things for you, ok?"
Lila made a small sound of acknowledgment before pulling the covers up to her nose and turning onto her side.
She was asleep in seconds.
Nate stood over her head and stroked her hair for a moment. Then he left the room, only to come back with a screwdriver.
He knelt by the door and dismantled the doorknob so he could turn it around and screw it back in with the lock now on the outside. "I'm sorry, but this is for your own good. I don't need you trying to hurt yourself while I'm gone..."
Once he was done, he did one final scan of the room, brought her a glass of water, then shut the door behind him and locked it.

Wooyoung anxiously awaited the arrival of his manager and Yeosang. Seonghwa had called the younger to tell him to get back here as soon as possible, and thankfully Yeosang had already been on his way.
What new was it that Roger had for him?
His friend showed up first and set the large bag down he had brought in the corner before moving to sit next to Wooyoung. "I'm glad to see you awake, how are you doing?" He asked, pulling Wooyoung to him.
The younger shrugged and let out a sigh.
"His throat is pretty raw right now." Seonghwa said from where he was leaning against his desk. "Now that you're here, I'm going to go check on the kitchen and maybe whip us up a little something to eat. I'll come back when Roger gets here, I told the staff to let me know when he does."
"Thanks Hwa." Yeosang sent him a grateful smile as the older left the kitchen. Then he looked down at Wooyoung and rubbed the back on his head. "San called..."
Wooyoung sat up at the sad tone in Yeosang's voice.
"He missed them... I'm so sorry, Youngie... And he's not going to make it back until tomorrow. There are no more flights out tonight."
"Where..."
"He met the doctor who took care of Lila's father. He had come by to check on her, so San is staying with him. It sounds like he is being filled in one everything that happened. Maybe he saw or heard something that can help us."
"N-N-"
Yeosang clenched his hands. "Yes, as far as I know she is still with Nate..."
Wooyoung closed his eyes and tried to swallow the lump in his throat. His heart ached as he thought about how all of this could have been avoided if he had just told her...
"Don't beat yourself up too much, Youngie. The entire situation as a whole is complicated. I understand why you didn't want to tell her. It's not something that should be said over the phone and especially not when her father was... There's never a good time... But that's just how the cards fell I guess. We are going to fix it though. I promise. We will figure out a way to fix this."
Tears came to Wooyoung's eyes as he was filled with gratitude for his best friend. He knew Yeosang would always be by his side, no matter what. That's why he had followed him to L.A. And he would keep following Yeosang forever. He would be lost without him.
They sat on the couch together in silence as they waited for Roger.
Which thankfully wasn't long.
He and Seonghwa burst into the office a short time later, making both boys on the couch jump and look up.
Roger pulled Wooyoung to him and held him tight. "God I was so worried. I'm sorry I didn't call sooner, things were such a mess. I've been working for hours trying to clean it up, but none of this is your fault so don't blame yourself. I'm just glad you're ok. When I didn't know where you went I definitely started to panic, especially once Rachel wanted to find you an-"
"Roger, calm down." Yeosang said, placing a hand on the man's shoulder. "Take a deep breath. He's been here the entire time and just woke up an hour or so ago."
"Sorry, you're right." Roger let go of Wooyoung and took a step back. "Thank you," He turned to Seonghwa.
The cook just shook his head and waved off the compliment before pulling over his chair for Roger to sit in. Seonghwa then turned to sit on his desk.
Roger sat and looked at Wooyoung. "Ok. So the interview is out. I couldn't stop it since it was a live interview. However, I got the local stations to agree to stop airing it and spreading it. I can't control the internet, so what's done is done. I have issued a press release stating that no one was aware of the pregnancy before hand and that we will be investigating these claims."
Wooyoung opened his mouth to speak, but Roger held up his hand to stop him.
"I didn't mention anything outside of that. However, I think you need to be prepared to. Especially if we go the route I think we should go. The tests came back." Roger took a deep breath and squeezed Wooyoung's hands. "It was positive."
Yeosang had his arms wrapped around Wooyoung's waist immediately and pressed his face into the younger's neck.
Seonghwa growled and slammed his hand against the desk.
Wooyoung himself was shaking. His lower lip trembled as one word repeated itself over and over.
Positive.
Positive...
Rachel had drugged him.
This had been no accident...
"Wooyoung, take a deep breath." Roger said softly. "I know this is scary, but I am getting everything taken care of. The police are going to work with us too. We are going to get a court order for a pregnancy test. They did tell me it might take some time, so we are going to play the waiting game, but you better believe I'm going to stay on them until we get proof on what is really going on. And you can press charges against her too, if you want."
"I think you should." Seonghwa said, fixing his hard gaze on the younger. "After what she did to you? You need to make sure she can never to it to you, or anyone else, again."
Wooyoung looked down. He just wanted this to be over with more than anything... He wanted to forget about it and find Lila and have everything go back to normal.
"You can have some time to think about it." Yeosang whispered, squeezing him a little tighter.
"Yeah, yeah." Roger sighed. "And right now we've got nothing but time. I don't know how fast the courts will move on a case like this, but I'll keep on them. I'm sure Rachel will fight it tooth and nail too. Where is San?"
"In Wyoming. He went to go find Lila. Her father passed away today too and now she's not answering our calls." Yeosang answered, his voice heavy with the pain of the situation.
"And that slimy bastard Nate is with her too." Seonghwa growled.
"Nate?" Roger looked at all of them.
"Lila's admirer." Yeosang grumbled.
"Oh come on, tell it how it is Yeosang!" Seonghwa pushed himself off his desk. "The guy is obsessed! How many times has he shown up here unannounced? Or called just to see where Lila is? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad she had someone there with her when her father passed, and he did call me to come help when Wooyoung was in the hospital. But he is a creep and I'm sure he is just loving having her all to himself now that he was able to cut San out of the picture."
"Alright, calm down."
"No! I will not calm down!" Seonghwa snapped, making both Yeosang and Wooyoung flinch. "He's probably filling her head with all sorts of lies right now that is going to make it even harder for us to get her back. If he's already taken control of her phone, what else is he going to do? Lock her up? Keep her away from life?"
Wooyoung did his best to block out the words, but Seonghwa had a point. If Nate wormed his way in, what if Lila didn't want to come back to him...? They had been through so much to let it all end like this... But her mind worked differently...
"Oh god..." He said, his voice still raspy. Tears returned to his eyes as he looked at Roger. "What if she doesn't know we've been trying to get ahold of her and thinks we cut her off from our side? And that's why she hasn't tried to call?"
"Wooyoung don't speak until your voice is better..." Seonghwa started to say, his voice softening.
"Where's my other phone?" He started patting his pockets. Seonghwa had tried calling her on his main phone, but not the phone meant just for Lila.
"What other phone?" Roger asked.
Wooyoung froze and flashed a sheepish smile before he grabbed his discarded jacket. He pulled it out and felt his heart break a little more when he saw the text on there from Lila.
Lila
He's gone. In his sleep.
I will have a few things to take care of here.
I don't even know if he has a will.
Good luck on your interview today, I'll be watching.
I love you baby.
He let out a strangled sob as he pressed the phone to his forehead. There hadn't even been time for him to check his phone today to make sure she was ok. He should have tried harder, he should have told her, he should have done more...
After calming himself down, he dialed the only number programmed into it.
It rang.
Wooyoung's breath caught in his throat as he glanced up at Seonghwa.
He was met with a single beep. Neither one had created a personal message, just in case.
"Lila," He tried to clear his throat. "Lila, it's me. Please pick up. Please. I really need to talk to you. I know what you saw and I can explain all of it. And I need to know you're ok. If you get this, please call me. Or pick up the next time I call. I love you, so much. I promise I can clear all of this up."
Wooyoung ended the call and stared at the phone. He prayed she was just sleeping, or busy doing something else, or... Or anything besides willingly ignoring him.
Roger let out a low sigh. "What do you know about this Nate person?"
"Not much." Yeosang said, pulling Wooyoung back to him. "Just that he woks with her. I don't even know his last name."
Their manager nodded. "I'll see what I can do. Do you have reason to believe he would harm her?"
"I honestly don't know. I can tell he really cares for her, it's just in an obsessive way. I..." Yeosang hesitated and looked to Seonghwa for help.
The cook ran a hand through his hair. "I don't think he would intentionally harm her. But I know he's always had this face on him when he's seen her with other guys. I worry about what he will do if he finds out she was dating a celebrity. The looks he gave me when he saw me with here were enough to say he was jealous and he didn't like it... He told San he knows about her past too, which means he's done some digging. And, he did say that she was going to be his, just like it always should have been."
Roger pursed his lips. "I'll see what I can find. I can't promise anything, but I'll see if there isn't something we can do. Maybe I can at least get an address or something... I don't know. I'll try." He stood to leave, but rubbed the side of Wooyoung's head gently. "Call me if you need anything, and keep me updated on where you are, ok?"
"Thank you, Rog." Wooyoung stood and hugged him. It lasted for longer than was probably necessary, but neither one of them made a point to break contact.
"I'm not going to give up. We will get through this together." Roger whispered.
And Wooyoung believed him. He could do this as long as the people he cared for most stayed by his side.
All he needed was Lila...
