As the day dragged on, Lila never left Wooyoung's side.

Seonghwa had to leave to go check on the diner after Jongho called him in a panic, muttering something about firing him soon and promising to come back later.

"Can I get you anything?" San asked, coming over to place a hand on Lila's shoulder.

She just shook her head and moved so she could rest it on the side of Wooyoung's bed.

San sighed, but didn't argue, which she was thankful for. She was still feeling nauseous so she was worried she wouldn't be able to keep anything down until Wooyoung woke up and she could relax a little.

"Well Sangie and I are going to go find something to eat." He leaned forward and kissed the side of her head before leaving the room.

Lila smiled when Yeosang reached for him and took his hand. She was glad they had each other to lean on during this time.

The beeping of the machines were so constant in her mind that they started to lull her to sleep. She couldn't even remember how long she had been her, but the sun had set at least a couple of hours ago.

A soft knock on the door jolted her away and Lila looked up to see someone walking in wearing a white coat, so she hoped he was a doctor. All she had met was nurses so far. "Hello," he said, clicking a pen and flashing her a bright smile. "I'm Dr. Jeong. I'm the doctor on duty tonight and I'm just making my rounds."

As Lila took him in, she felt her heart sinking a little when she realized how young he was.

He seemed to know exactly what she was thinking and chuckled. "I know, I'm young. I just graduated last semester, but I was top of my class so I promise to take good care of Mr. Jung here."

Biting her lip and looking down, Lila tried to fight the embarrassment that threatened to take over.

"Let's start over, shall we? I'm Dr. Jeong, but you and call me Yunho. I hate titles and I'm a very relaxed, but energetic person. Probably why they stuck me on the night shifts. Either that, or seniority. Who knows?" This time he laughed at his own joke as he looked down at the clipboard in his hand.

This time, Lila found herself smiling. His cheer was certainly contagious. "I'm Lila, and I'm sorry for judging. I'm just..."

"I know." Yunho said quickly. "I would be too if it was my boyfriend."

Lila's eyebrows rose and she felt herself blushing a little.

"I mean that both for you and for me." He winked. "I know you've been here all day and had to sneak in."

"How..."

Yunho winked at her and leaned over to whisper, "The nurses know everything."

Lila covered her mouth to stifle her laugh as Yunho straightened up to examine the machines.

"But don't worry, it's all internal gossip. They have all signed non-disclosure agreements. Nothing leaves these walls otherwise a lot of people would probably be fired. Now, how has he been doing. He has yet to wake up yet, right?"

With the subject change, Lila's smile faded and her eyes immediately went to Wooyoung's face as she squeezed his hand. "No, not yet."

"That's not necessarily a bad thing. His body has been through a lot and needs some time to recover. All of his vitals are looking really good right now." Yunho looked over his shoulder to smile at her. "And he hasn't had an 'episode' since arriving, so I'm taking that as a really good sign since we really don't know what this virus involves." He walked over and placed a hand on her shoulder. "I'll be back later to check on him, but I'm optimistic that the worst is over."

"Thank you, Yunho." Lila said, trying to fight back her tears as she brought Wooyoung's hand to her lips and closed her eyes.

She heard him leave the room as she laid her head down again and gently ran her fingers up and down Wooyoung's arm. Goosebumps started to appear, bringing a small smile to her face as she watched his body react to her touch.

"Did you hear that? The doctor is optimistic." She let out a breathy laugh. "Maybe I should take lessons from him... I'm trying the best I can though, because I know you need me to be strong. This is all so new to me... I've never had to be strong for anyone before." Lila could feel herself drifting off again as she spoke, so she fought to keep her eyes open. "I don't even know how to be strong for myself. At the first sign of anything wrong I retreat so far into myself I never want to come out. I've always been a burden. To my parents, to San... I don't even know why he puts up with me sometimes. I don't deserve it..."

Lila glanced down at the scars on her wrists as her lower lip trembled.

"I'm weak... But you make me stronger. As long as I have you by my side, I think I'll be ok. I can't promise that I will be all the time, because there's still so much about me that you don't know... But I promise I'll try, as long as you promise to always come back to me." She ended with a whisper as she slowly succumbed to the sleep threatening to take over.

San covered his mouth and turned into Yeosang's embrace as they stood in the doorway. The older held into him and rubbed his back as the tears fell from Lila's words.

She could never be a burden to him, and feeling like she was a burden to her parents was their problem, not hers.

He wished there was something he could do to make her see that. But maybe that wasn't his job, maybe it was Wooyoung's now. And he was ok with that. Just as long as he had his Lila for a long, long time.

Hearing her promise to try and be better made his heart hurt with both joy and pain, because he could only imagine how hard it was for her to stay out of that dark place these past couple of days.

He guessed he had Seonghwa and, unfortunately, Nate to thank for that.

If she had been alone, San feared that she wouldn't have been there for them to come home to...

When he finally called down, Yeosang stroked his cheek gently and kissed his forehead before they both went to sit at the table in the corner of the room and eat quietly.

They had brought back some food for Lila too, which they stuck in the small fridge. She needed to eat too at some point but San didn't want to force it right now.

Roger came back to join them late that night after spending most of the afternoon making calls to the director of the movie, Wooyoung's parents, and handling a few of the press calls he had been getting.

The poor guy looked drained.

"Are you ok?" San asked with a hushed tone as the man sat down next to Yeosang and gripped the back of his neck in welcome.

"As ok as I can be. The press are having a field day right now. Word spread like wildfire that he came home with some unknown disease so now I'm having to worry about fears of quarantine and sickness spreading." Roger leaned forward and buried his face in his hands. "This is one of the things I admire about people in this business so much. Their life is on display for everyone and still they want to do it."

Yeosang chuckled and patted Roger's shoulders. "It's because we have people like you to lean on and help us out."

The older man peeked at Yeosang between his fingers and looked like he was about to cry. "I'm just doing my job."

"Your job means more to us then you ever know. I know Wooyoung appreciates you, even if he can be a pain in the ass sometimes." Yeosang glanced at his friend and smiled.

Roger scoffed and sat back in his chair. "You can say that again. You better believe he is going to get an earful from me about his 'mystery girl' actually being true. That kid is going to be the death of me."

"Yeah, he probably will be." Yeosang chuckled and reached for San's hand under the table.

"Have you spoken to your manager at all?"

Yeosang nodded and pursed his lips. "Yeah. You want another client?" He turned to Roger with a serious look on his face.

The man's eyes widened in shock. "Um... Wait are you serious?"

"Yeah, the idiot wanted to know why I came back early and wouldn't listen to me when I tried to explain what was going on. All she would do was complain about all the press releases she would have to come up with. So I fired her."

San squeezed his hand in his comfort, wanting to go beat the woman up himself for treating his man like that in this situation.

"Wow, I always knew she was a little... Different." Roger sighed. "Her loss! I'd love to take you on if you'll have me."

Yeosang nodded and returned to his food and the sounds of Wooyoung's machines filled the silence that settled over them.

Lila could feel something trying to pull her out of her dreams, but she wasn't ready to wake up yet. Not with the happy dream she had been having.

She was back in the interview room, but it was just her and Wooyoung. His bright smile lit of the room as she asked him random questions that didn't even pertain to an interview, and he had some witty response to each one of them.

"Lila?"

She smiled, loving the way he said her name. He stepped closer to her and took her hand. His mouth moved, but suddenly she couldn't hear what he was saying as he lifted his hand up to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear.

"Lila?"

She groaned and shifted her head, suddenly realized how much her back hurt. How could she be in pain when she was standing in front of Wooyoung? She leaned into where his hand was now cupping her cheek, but she couldn't feel anything.

"Is she ok?"

Something shook her.

Lila sat up with a gasp and looked around, trying to figure out where she was.

"Hey, hey, it's ok." San said, giving her an amused look as she turned to him. "I'm sorry, I didn't meant to scare you."

"Oh, Sannie." Lila said, covering her heart with her right hand. "No it's ok. I..." She froze when she felt something squeeze her left hand.

She turned slowly and felt like the ground beneath her was shaking as she turned as saw the same smile, although a little weaker, that she had just seen in her dreams. "W-Wooyoung?"

"Hey beautiful." He said, his eyes creasing as he smiled.

"Oh my god, W-W-Woo..." She said, moving up to place her hand on his cheek. The oxygen mask had been replaced with the tube that just goes into his nose and he had a little bit of color back.

As she got closer she felt hands on her waist that guided her down onto the bed as Wooyoung opened his arms. Part of her wanted to protest, afraid to hurt him, but she couldn't say now to the tired smile on his face.

And as soon as she was nestled into his side with his arms around her, Lila felt like she was home.

While the hug was still weak, she could feel Wooyoung trying to pull her in a little closer. She did the best she could to avoid the wires coming out of him, but San helped with that, adjusting them where he could.

She smiled when she heard the heartbeat monitor speed up just a touch when she placed her head on his chest and wrapped an arm carefully around his waist.

"Don't cry." He whispered into the her hair.

Lila tried to hold back her sobs, but she couldn't help it. She was just so happy to see him awake and smiling.

"I'm sorry, this wasn't how I pictured our reunion being." Wooyoung lifted a hand up to rub his thumb over her cheek.

"Don't b-be silly." Lila said, shifting a little closer to him. "I'm just glad you're ok."

"I could never leave you." His hand drifted down to brush against the necklace around her neck and she felt him smile into her hair.

Neither one felt the need to speak anymore as the morning continued.

Yunho came in at one point to do a final check and say his goodbyes, insisting that Lila stay put on the bed while he did so.

And she was fine with that.

Roger was in and out trying to handle issues with the press. He ended up releasing a statement saying that Wooyoung did arrive home early after getting sick during filming but he is going to be ok and the movie had finished filming before it happened.

Seonghwa showed up with food later that day, grumbling to himself about the stupid camera people in the lobby and ranting for about a good five minutes before he realized Wooyoung was awake. When Wooyoung's laugh cut him off, he stopped what he was doing and ran over to give him a hug and then yelled at him for scaring everyone so much.

Lila just smiled from where her head was situated in Wooyoung's lap. He was feeling up to sitting up more, so she had slid down in the bed to let him do that.

She loved the feeling of his fingers in her hair as he would play with it absentmindedly while talking to the others.

Everyone's mood lifted the better Wooyoung got. Yeosang was smiling again and Lila so realized just how smitten he was with San because he was always pulling the younger close to him. Plus she caught the way his eyes would light up whenever San spoke or even just leaned over to nudge Yeosang.

When evening drew closer, San and Yeosang snuck out to run by San's condo to get Lila's things so she could change and be more comfortable.

When they walked back into the room, San's hair was messed up and he was very red in the face. Lila also noticed he had missed a button on his shirt. His eyes flicked to hers then he rubbed the back of his neck and looked down. He avoided her gaze for the next couple hours and she noticed he had to change how he was sitting. A lot.

When Wooyoung got situated for the night with the help of Yunho, Lila hummed to herself as he laid pressed to his side again.

Even though they were in a hospital, this was the happiest she could ever remember being. And she hoped things would keep getting better once Wooyoung was released and they could be together again.

He had asked her at one point what she had wanted to tell him when he got home, and Lila told him he needed to wait just a little longer. She tried to get it out of her, but Lila wanted to wait for him to be healthy and out of this place before she told him how much she loved him.

Although she was sure he already knew by the way he refused to let her leave his side.

As she drifted off to sleep listening to the beating of Wooyoung's heart, she felt him press his lips to the top of her head and keep them there. "Never again." He whispered. "Never..."
