"Baekhyun, wake up, your late" Mrs Byun shakes her son slightly.

Baekhyun only groans and turns around.

"Baekhyun!"

Baekhyun mumbles a fine and struggles to stand up. He walks into the bathroom and washes his face.

"Oh gosh I look like Tao" Baekhyun moans when he examines the bags under his eyes.

He didn't get any sleep last night, he fell asleep at 5:30AM and right now it's 6AM.

"30 minutes of sleep... such bad habits" Baekhyun 'tsk'ed and prepared himself for school.

While he's eating breakfast with his mom, a tall big-eared giant makes his way into his mind and he blushes.

Mrs Byun raises a brow, "Thinking about Chanyeol?" His mom teases. She knows about his 'small' crush on his bestfriend Chanyeol.

Baekhyun's face turns red, "N-no"

Mrs Byun chuckles, "Time for school time AKA to see Chanyeol! See you later Baekhyun"

Baekhyun says bye and I love you while covering his tomato face.

He exits the house and begins his 'journey' to school.

The small male stops at his bestfriends house and casually walks inside, just like every other morning.

"Baekhyun?" A deep voice calls out when the front door creaks open.

"Yup! I'm here~"

"I was waiting for you" Chanyeol walks into the room and embraces the 5'9" male.

Baekhyun madly blushes and buries his face deep into the tallers chest while wrapping his arms around Chanyeols torso.

You would think they are dating, but no. They are just bestfriends who are straight. But everyone knows they are as straight as Sam Smith.

"Let's go to school now, eh?" Chanyeol lightly smiles at the smaller.

Baekhyun nods and they walk to school hand-in-hand.

A skip creeps its way into Baekhyuns walk. Soon enough he's asking Chanyeol to join in.

"Yah Chanyeol skip with me" Baekhyun orders and sways their interlocked hands.

The giant chuckles and slightly skips too.

Once they arrive at school with their hands still interlocked, everyone stares. As cliche as it sounds, Chanbaek and their friends are the 'popular kids' who everyone wants, too bad to the girls though since y'know they are as straight as Sam Smith AKA when Sam Smith gets himself a wife, they will be straight.

Everyone watched Chanbaek walk to their homeroom and they stare in envy at the pair of bestfriends who look absolutely cute laughing together.

"C'mon Channie" Baekhyun pulls Chanyeol into their homeroom and they sit in the back together.

"It's still 50 minutes until class! Mom was lying about me being late!" Baekhyun groans.

Chanyeol chuckles, "When did you go to sleep? I can see your bags"

Baekhyun blushes in embarrassment and looks down at his hands which are in his lap, "5:30"

"PM?"

"...AM" he says, barely above a whisper.

"Baekkie! I told you that if you have night terrors then ring me. I don't care if it's at fucking 3AM for fuck sakes but I just wanna make sure you feel safe.." Chanyeol gives Baekhyun a concerned stare before leaning over and kissing Baekhyun's forehead.

"I-I'm sorry Channie.. It's just that I don't like being a burden" Baekhyun mumbles and plays with Chanyeol's calloused fingers.

Chanyeol sighs and caresses Baekhyun's soft cheek before speaking, "It's okay, just next time tell me so I can comfort you, okay?"

"Okay.."

Chanyeol pulls Baekhyun into another warm embrace. Baekhyun wraps his arms around Chanyeol's torso and sniffs in the manly scent that radiates from Chanyeol.

This rainy smell. Nature smell. It smells like rainforest? It's beautiful.

"They just feel so real" Baekhyun mumbles into Chanyeol's t-shirt as tears begin to form.

"What?"

"T-the terrors.. t-hey feel so so r-real" tears begin to stream down his soft baby cheeks and make a wet patch on Chanyeol's shirt.

Chanyeol feels the wetness and pulls out from the embrace. He caresses Baek's cheek again, wiping the tears away, "that's why you need to phone me when you feel unsafe, I will be your knight in shining armour" he says and pulls Baekhyun back into a hug.

Baekhyun hugs back and nods as the tears begin to go away, "Okay"

The school day ends and Baekhyun waits outside at the gates for Chanyeol. A wave of drowsiness washes over Baekhyun and he struggles to stand. His eye lids slightly close and his legs give way.

"N-no not here" Baekhyun groans, "Stay awake!" Baekhyun shouts at himself.

"Baekhyun!" Is the last thing he hears before his eyes fully close and unconsciousness kicks in.

"Y-you're not real! You aren't! Stay away! Stay away!!" Baekhyun screams in his sleep.

Chanyeol hugs Baekhyun tighter and spreads light kisses on his face, "It's okay Baekkie, it's okay" he whispers, trying to soothe Baekhyun with his voice.

"AAAAAAAH GET AWAY—" Baekhyun's eyes suddenly open and he frantically looks around. His expression of fear and terror disappear and is replaced with softness once he sees Chanyeol's concerned face.

"Baekhyun it's okay"

Baekhyun's eyes well up in tears, "I-It's too scary! I-I can't deal.. with it! It's scary! They're.. so scary" Baekhyun shouts between loud sobs and hiccups.

Chanyeol tightly hugs Baekhyun, wrapping his arms safely around him, "You will be safe with me"

Baekhyun looks up at Chanyeol, "I love you"

"I love you too" Chanyeol softly smiles, "more than a friend"

Baekhyun's eyes sparkle, "more?"

"Yes, I am in love with you Baekhyun as a lover not friend" Chanyeol confesses.

"Me too! I love you so much!" Baekhyun exclaims and they share a passionate kiss.

All their feelings are poured out into the kiss. All the love floating around, so much love in the air they can feel it, sense it.

Baekhyun pulls away first to catch his breath.

"I love you so so much Baekhyun" Chanyeol says.

"I love you too, alot"

Chanyeol lays down and Baekhyun leans his head on Chan's chest. Chanyeol wraps an arm around Baekhyun to protect him from all the monsters.

That night Baekhyun got the sleep he needed without any interruptions from the monsters.
