IIX. jealousy
IIX. Jealousy (plus new cover)
The next day at school I couldn't remember anything that happened as a wolf so when I walked in I tried to just act normal. "Hey Hope, sorry about yesterday, didn't want you guys to see me throw up," I told her with a bashful grin, hoping she would believe me and praying she hadn't followed me yesterday.
She smiled back at me and I mentally sighed in relief. "Yeah, it's fine, I get it," She told me with a relaxed grin and I smiled wide at her. I was paying attention to Hope so I didn't notice my twin plowing towards me until she jumps on my back, her arms wrapping around my waist as she loosely hangs her arms around my neck. On instinct I support her legs and feel her hands cover my eyes as the world goes dark.
"Guess who?" She sings out, giggling at the end and a smile lights up my face at my twin's happiness.
"Hmm, is it a parasite?" I ask and one hand takes over cover my eyes while the other slaps my shoulder while I laugh at the fake insulted gasps my twin lets out.
"Well, as twins, if I'm a parasite then so are you," Allison said, uncovering my eyes and hugging me.
"Ah, me and you, twin parasites against the world," I teased and she grinned, plopping her head on top of mine and I assume smiling at hope.
"Hello, I'm Allison, who are you?" Allison's friendly voice asked Hope who looked at us with something in her eyes I can't recognize. Hope snaps out of it shaking her head and smiling at the head above my own.
"I'm David's friend, Hope," Hope said with a friendly grin and Allison stretched out one of her hands from over my shoulder, which Hope shakes with a smile.
"Hope here is newer than even we are," I told Allison while letting her down from my back and she smiles at me, leaning against my side while I wrap an arm around her shoulders, one of her arms wrapping around my waist.
"Cool! Do you want me to ask Lydia if she's cool with you sitting with us during lacrosse practice, if you're going that is," Allison offered, giving an easy grin to Hope who smiled back.
"Uh, lacrosse?" Hope questioned, scratching her elbow as she crossed her arm, seemingly nervous about not knowing what it was.
"It's the big sport here, people are crazy about it," I told her with a grin as we walk down the hall together, with Hope walking to my side that was absent of an Allison.
"And David made the team, so that's why I go to the practice," Allison explained when another confused look overtook her face which quickly cleared at Allison's words.
"Uh yeah, that sounds like a lot of fun," Hope said with a small smile and we both smile back at her.
"Oh and David, can I take the car again? Lydia told me second hour she wants to go shopping, but I think she just wants to vent about Jackson," Allison said, leaning her head on my shoulder while I nod.
"Yeah that's fine, I'll just have dad pick me up," I told her, not noticing the flinch that Hope did. Looking down the hallway I spot the puppy that I called mine and grin, "I- uh- I will be back, maybe." I pull away from Allison and jog up to Scott calling his name with a smile.
Scott turns around smiling at me and I feel my heart flutter and I stop in front of him, our hands connecting without thinking. "Uh-hey, my dad is picking me up after school and I was wondering if you would stay behind and wait with me?" I make up on the spot, really wanting an excuse to be with Scott who smiles and nods.
"Yeah that's fine," Scott said with a goofy grin that I gave back.
"Thanks!" I said pecking his cheek before running off as the bell rang, needing to get to my next class.
After school Scott and I were out front just having light conversation while I was waiting for my dad. "Wait so you have lived in how many places," Scott laughed out and a goofy grin spreads across my face at the very pleasant sound.
"Okay, you can shut up now," I said jokingly, nudging his shoulder and he grins shaking his head.
"Uh uh," He said and opened his mouth to say more put I lean forward and connect our lips. His eyes close, melting into the kiss but I pull away with a grin.
"I said shut up," I said softly and he grinned.
"Tell me again." This time he leaned forward and kiss me, causing me to smile and return the kiss. We pull away and grin at each other before a honk sounds out and we both look at the car that made it. I smile at my dad who raises an eyebrow at us and I turn back to Scott who looks shellshocked, probably scared he was caught kissing me in front of my dad.
"That's my ride, I'll see you later," I told him and pecked him before turning around and jogging to the car, opening the back to throw my backpack and gym bag in before I get in the front, sending one last smile to Scott.
Hope
Hope would never admit it but she felt jealousy spike through her when Allison and Kit interacted. Here Allison was, acting as if Kit was her twin and not Hope's, even if she had no idea of Kit's real bloodline. Hope tried not to hold anything against Allison, the girl would have been just a baby when Kit was taken, she had no say in it but still, Hope felt anger against her that she got to have the experience of having a twin, while Hope didn't even though Hope was the one who was born with one. So when Allison offered for Hope to sit with her, the young tribrid wanted to say no but knew it would seem rude, plus she did want to go and support her brother.
One thing Hope would admit, she hated to hear Kit call one of the hunters who took him dad. Hope couldn't find herself caring that the hunter raised him, he wanted Kit's dad, he was his kidnapper. So while looking at Allison and Kit, who with a pang she realized looked more alike than she and Kit did, she promised to build a bond like that with her twin. She had centuries to do so, while Allison was just a human and that was one thing Hope had over her, Allison had at most 100 years with Kit, Hope had forever.
