Dwelling
As Astrea was peacefully munching on her cereal, Wesker walked into the cabin. He was bloodied and looked extremely annoyed. However, as soon as Wesker's eyes landed on Astrea, all the tension left his body.
"Welcome back, Albert." Astrea greeted him with a smile.
"How were you while I was gone?" Wesker replied back to Astrea with a small smile on his face.
"I had time to think about things and dwell on others. I want to ask you some questions, but I think you should shower first."
"Right." Wesker agreed before walking over to Astrea and giving her a quick kiss. He then went to their bedroom and bathroom to get all washed up.
Astrea finished her food and set her dishes in the sink before heading to their bedroom, just in time to see Wesker coming out of the bathroom with a towel drying off. Astrea sat down on their bed and just watched as Wesker got himself all dry.
"Are you enjoying watching me, my dear?" Wesker asked as he paused when he noticed that Astrea was just staring at him. She smirked at him as she nodded her head.
"I do find you to be extremely attractive, but you know I love you for more than that, right? I was just lost in thought again." Astrea explained to Wesker as he nodded his head and finished drying off. He went to their closet to see if he had any clothes in there, only to see that there was a set of comfy clothes in there for him. He put on a pair of black sweatpants and a black T-shirt as well. He then sat down next to Astrea.
"So, what is on your mind?"
"How did you feel when I was passed out on your lap?" Astrea asked, throwing off Wesker with her question. He didn't expect that to be what was on her mind.
"I felt lost. Heartbroken. I felt like I was going to lose everything. I don't think I've ever felt such a thing in such a way before. It honestly scared me. I would have done anything to have you live and be with me again. I'd have given up anything for you to exist, which is why I was going to accept those idiots' offer. I just needed you to live, even if it was without me." Wesker felt as though it was important to be as honest as possible with Astrea. He didn't want any misunderstandings. After he spoke, Astrea didn't say anything in response. He looked down at her and realized that she was crying.
"I'm so sorry, Albert. I didn't mean to make you feel things you're not used to. I didn't mean to cause you to have such an experience." Astrea cried as she looked away from him. Wesker reached over to her and took ahold of her hand and held it in his own.
"There's nothing to apologize for. I love you. I don't mind feeling all these new feelings. You are the cause, so it's alright. Just... let's not have any more life and death situations anymore." Astrea couldn't help but laugh through her tears at Wesker's words.
"I'll try my best to not cause anything else." Astrea and Wesker shared a kiss before she stood up and looked toward the bedroom door. "Do you know where Nyx and Ji-Woon are? I haven't seen them in a bit."
"I saw them at the campfire. They were with a few survivors, but I'm not sure which ones, I didn't care enough to pay attention to them."
"Alright then, there's nothing to worry about for now." Astrea smiled before Wesker pulled her to his body. She stood between his legs with her hands resting on his shoulders. Wesker's hands rested on her hips. "What's on your mind? Is something wrong?"
"I just want to be alone with you a little while longer. I just want to be with you, no worries about anything or anyone else." Wesker's words caused Astrea to lean down and kiss his lips as she smiled at him.
"You have me all to yourself. I'm yours, wholly and entirely. Whenever you want me alone, you'll have me."
"I like that. I like you being mine."
"Well, you belong to me as well. We're each other's at this point."
"Oh?" Wesker smirked playfully at Astrea. "What makes you think I belong to you?" Astrea chuckled at his joking words.
"You've gone through so much to save my ass, so you're as whipped for me as I am for you." Astrea's words brought forth a chuckle from Wesker as he nodded his head.
"You're right." Wesker had to admit to her.
"We're bound together, very strongly and there isn't anything that could pull us apart at this point."
"I agree. I'll do my best to not be torn away from you. Just like I'll do my best to not have you torn away from me." Wesker and Astrea shared another kiss before they parted but kept their hands on each other.
"I missed your beautiful eyes, by the way. They're so striking and yet so brilliant. It's like they see right through me."
"You are fairly transparent. Your emotions are on display and are easy to read. For me, at least."
"I'm not one for hiding or stifling my emotions. I'm a pretty emotional person, for the most part."
"And I'm the complete opposite." Wesker muttered to Astrea.
"Yes, but you've gotten better with talking about your emotions and showing your love for me. Plus, you've always been straightforward with me. I appreciate that."
"I've been trying to be open for you. I don't want any misunderstandings or any accidental hurt feelings due to how harsh I can be."
"I don't mind your harsh words, Albert. You've never really been that way toward me anyway. You've always been nicer."
"Only because of how you acted toward me from the beginning. You might have been frightened of me, but you didn't react with hatred or anger toward me, as others do."
"Everyone deserves kindness, even a killer like you."
"Thank you for your kindness, and your love, Astrea. Those are two things that I rarely had in my lifetime. I don't know if anyone truly loved me for who I am, rather they loved me for the power and money I had. They wanted something from me, not me myself." Hearing the sadness in Wesker's voice, Astrea pulled him against her chest. She held him tightly to her as she frowned.
"I'll give you all the love and kindness that you didn't even know you need. I'll be everything you never had before." Wesker in turn wrapped his arms around Astrea. He kept his face on her chest as well.
"You already are everything to me. You don't need to try hard to be what I need, because you are."
"I love you, Albert. I'll always do my best to show you love and kindness." Astrea smiled down at him as he pulled away and looked up at her. To Astrea's surprise, Wesker had a genuine smile on his face.
"I love you as well, Astrea. I'll do my best to show you that."
Astrea and Wesker held each other for a few more minutes before she grew tired of standing. So, Astrea maneuvered onto Wesker's lap and straddled him. She smirked at him and felt his arms wrap around her tighter, so as not to let her fall.
"I'm a little tired," Astrea admitted to Wesker.
"We should sleep then. I have to go do several trials tomorrow."
"Why several trials?"
"The Entity told me to do so. She wants me to, so you don't have to right now."
"You're going to be overworked." Astrea frowned at that thought. Wesker shook his head.
"I'm used to it. I've done back-to-back trials before I met you. It's not anything I can't handle."
"You better still make time for me though. I still want alone time with you. I'll never tire of being with you." Astrea smirked at Wesker, as he nodded his head. Wesker then kissed Astrea's lips before responding.
"I'll never tire of being with you as well. I'll make sure to have time with you between trials, whenever I can. I don't want you to be forced into a trial again. You need to rest."
"Thank you for being supportive of my recovery."
"Of course, my dear." Wesker then stood up with Astrea in his arms, turned around, and dropped her onto the bed. She giggled as she bounced on their bed. "We should get some sleep." Wesker climbed into their bed as Astrea got under their blankets. Wesker climbed under them as well and the two got all snuggled up together.
Astrea clung to Wesker with her body wrapped up around his. Wesker held her to him tightly. The two then muttered their goodnights and ended up falling asleep quite quickly.
The following morning, Astrea woke up to see that Wesker was already awake and getting dressed. She frowned as she rubbed her eyes.
"Are your trials already starting?" Astrea asked Wesker, as he turned to face her.
"They are. I was going to wake you up shortly." Wesker replied as he saw Astrea instantly frown. She then sat up and yawned.
"I was hoping for some post-sleep cuddles before you had to go." In response, Wesker walked over to her and gave her a simple kiss on the lips.
"We have time later to cuddle." Wesker then put his sunglasses on and began to walk toward the door. "Be safe."
"You be safe," Astrea mumbled as she watched Wesker leave their bedroom. She then sat there, alone in their bed with a sigh. Deciding not to waste any time, Astrea climbed out of bed and got dressed for the day. She then left the bedroom and went to the living room to see Nyx and Ji-Woon laughing about something.
"Hey, Astrea!" Nyx paused in her laughter to greet her cousin.
"Hey." Astrea greeted them back as she approached them.
"What are your plans for the day?"
"I think I'm going to go out and wander around a bit. I just need some fresh air and to not be inside this cabin for too long."
"Do you want me to go out with you?"
"Nah, I'll be alright. I just need some time alone to think and be myself for a bit. I need to get over some things and move on with my life."
"Good luck then. I'll be around if you need me."
"Thanks." With that, Astrea left the cabin to wander around. She aimlessly wandered before coming across Jill and Chris. "Hey." Astrea greeted the two.
"How are you doing?" Jill asked the other woman.
"I'm doing better. I still have a lot on my mind, but I'll probably be alright."
"Are you planning on doing any more trials anytime soon?" Chris asked Astrea, only for her to chuckle and shake her head.
"Definitely not. Albert is doing plenty of trials for the both of us. I don't have to, just yet. I just need to focus on recovering and getting mentally back to normal."
"I'm glad that you're being supported. I just can't believe that Wesker is so supportive toward you."
"Albert is actually very sweet to me. He loves me and it shows in his actions. He's working on his words too."
"How are things between you two?" Jill asked as her curiosity won out.
"Things are great. I'm as happy as I could ever be when I'm with him. I feel loved and truly cared about."
"I'm happy for you then. Despite who you ended up with, I'm just glad you aren't alone." Chris stated, making Astrea smile at him.
"Thank you." Astrea watched as Jill and Chris walked off to go do their own thing. So, Astrea ended up wandering off again. Astrea didn't mind being alone in the trees and the cabins. She loved the wind on her skin and the crunching of the leaves under her feet.
Astrea allowed her mind to be blank until a sudden shudder ran down her spine. For a split second, Astrea felt terror, until she remembered that they were outside of trials, and Ghostface would be Danny.
So, Astrea looked over where she felt the feeling from, only to see Danny's concerned face peeking out from behind a cabin. When he realized he was spotted, Danny hid himself. Astrea smiled and walked over to his hiding spot and hopped around the corner, startling Danny.
"Hey there. Have you been following me?" Astrea smiled at Danny as he sighed.
"I have been. Only for a little bit though. I came when Chris and Jill walked away from you." Danny replied simply as he tilted his head. "Are you alright? You had a meltdown in the trial with me. I didn't mean to do that to you, I'm so sorry, Astrea."
"I appreciate you being sorry. It was just too much for me, that's all. I went into a trial too soon. I should have recovered for a longer period of time."
"I didn't want to hurt you. I had to be ruthless in that trial though. I didn't want you to be punished for my actions."
"Thank you, Danny. I appreciate that you're being considerate of me. I'll be alright though. I'll be more prepared next time."
"You're far too kind for your own good." Danny smiled at her as Astrea chuckled, only to be startled when Danny took ahold of her hand.
"What's up?" Astrea hesitantly asked, worried about what he was up to.
"If I was a worse of a man, you'd be in trouble."
"What does that mean?" Astrea asked, only to be pulled against Danny's chest as he pressed his lips against hers. Astrea was struck with a sickening feeling and pushed away from him immediately. She yanked her hand away from him and stepped backward away from him.
"I'm sorry. I just needed to know what your lips felt like against mine, just once. I'll leave you alone now. Just know this, I'll always be waiting, just in case you decide you want me instead." Danny then walked off, leaving Astrea in complete confusion. She had known he had feelings for her, but she didn't think he'd force a kiss on her.
Astrea wiped at her lips, feeling disgusted with herself. She headed right back to her cabin and into her bedroom. She then went to the bathroom and rinsed her mouth out and washed her face. She just felt wrong for having been kissed by Danny.
Astrea then went and sat on the bed and dwelled on how her little walk had been ruined. She hadn't had any time to think about things again. She figured that was good though, as she didn't need to keep dwelling on the past. She needed to focus on the future.
Astrea decided she could use some food. So, she went off to the kitchen only to realize that she was alone in the cabin. She didn't hear anyone or anything else in the cabin, which freaked her out. Astrea pushed the anxiety down and got some food to eat. She ate quickly and headed back to her bedroom.
Without Wesker there, Astrea felt ice cold. So once back in their bedroom, Astrea climbed into bed and wrapped herself up in their blankets. She hoped he'd be back soon, and without realizing it, Astrea drifted off to sleep.
Astrea woke up next to being shaken. She quickly opened her eyes and looked up, seeing Wesker standing there. She instantly threw off her blankets and jumped into his arms. Wesker nearly stumbled backward but steadied himself as he caught Astrea.
"Are you alright? You were crying in your sleep." Wesker asked as he looked down at her in concern.
"Danny kissed me, and I realized that I don't like to be alone anymore. Whenever you have to go do a trial, I'll wait for you at the campfire." Astrea replied to Wesker as she clung to him.
"Alright... Wait, what is this about Danny kissing you?"
"I was on a walk around the area when Danny followed me. We ended up talking only for him to kiss me against my will. I didn't realize that he was going to do that, I'm sorry." Astrea pulled away from Wesker, feeling him grow tense. "It's alright though, Albert. You don't need to go and kill him or hurt him. I'll just keep my distance from him."
"I need to go back to the killer ream anyway to get my things. I'll have a chat with him while I'm there."
"Albert. You're not allowed to do that. You don't need to go anywhere without me anyway." Astrea was then pulled close to Wesker as he sighed.
"I'll take you with me, but I'm still going to talk to him about what he did."
"Danny knew he did wrong. Please, Albert, let's just get your things and get back here. No drama." Astrea begged Wesker, not wanting to get anyone hurt because of her. Wesker thought about what Astrea said and sighed.
"Alright. I won't go after him yet, but if he does anything else..."
"Okay, I can agree to that," Astrea replied before giving him a kiss. Wesker kissed back as Astrea smiled into their kiss. Astrea then pulled Wesker closer to her and slid her tongue into his mouth. Their tongues rolled around each other's as they held each other tightly. Wesker pulled away first before smirking at her.
"Are you trying to distract me?"
"I just wanted to taste you. I need to feel you against me. I don't want the memory of someone's lips on mine. I just want your lips on mine. Your body against mine, tangled up with mine."
"Astrea," Wesker smirked at her as he held her at bay. "We need to get my things, but we can be tangled up later."
"Alright..." Astrea pouted as Wesker chuckled at her. "Let's get going then."
Astrea and Wesker left their bedroom to make the trek to the killer realm. They kept a tight hold on each other as they went, not wanting to get too far from each other.
Their trip to the killer realm went fairly uneventful. They collected Wesker's important items, including clothes and various other items, before heading back to their cabin in the survivor realm. Once back, Wesker put his clothes away and other items in their office. He then met with Astrea and sat on their bed together.
Astrea instantly leaned against Wesker and took ahold of his hand, interlacing their fingers. She smiled down at their hands then, making Wesker wonder what was up.
"What's on your mind?" Wesker asked the woman next to him. Astrea sighed as she debated on telling him what was truly on her mind.
"What are we? Are we a couple, or are we just existing together? Is there even a point to put a label on things?" Astrea asked, which honestly surprised Wesker.
"We're whatever you want us to be," Wesker replied carefully as he held Astrea's hand back.
"If we were in a normal realm, would you have married me?"
"Of course, I would have. I'd marry you in our current realm if that was possible. Whatever you wanted."
"I wish we were in a normal realm. We could have gotten together in a more normal way and not gone through so much trauma. We could have gotten married, had kids together, grown old together, and then died together. Like normal people do."
"I'm perfectly happy with our current situation. We can exist here and love each other here for the rest of eternity. We will never have to leave each other." Wesker's words didn't satisfy Astrea's feelings. So, she looked up at him with a frown.
"What if you lose interest in me? What happens then?"
"That's not possible. You shouldn't think like that." Wesker's words were unintentionally harsh. Astrea merely nodded her head at first.
"I still would have liked to see what our kids could have looked like. Would they look like you or me? Would they be smart like you? Evil little demons?"
"You shouldn't dwell on things that aren't possible. Plenty of survivors and killers have had sexual encounters, and no children were born from it. Clearly, children are not possible here in this realm."
"I'm still allowed to wonder though. It doesn't upset me much, I'm just sad at the possibilities that were lost."
"Even though we can't have children, we're together. We love each other, we have each other. Isn't that enough?"
"It is enough," Astrea replied as she looked up at Wesker. "I'm sorry for getting lost in thoughts that aren't necessary."
"It's alright, my dear. You are allowed to think about whatever you want." Wesker stated before standing up and pulling Astrea up with him. "It's time I get to another trial."
Wesker and Astrea walked to the campfire in silence. Astrea sat down while Wesker went off into a trial. Without realizing it, Astrea was hit with a wave of loneliness instantly. She frowned to herself as she realized that she was still relying on Wesker far too much.
