The birds chirped at her at her window making her slowly to open her eyes. An unknown smile was playing over her lips but that smile soon disappear when she couldn't find Manik beside her.

She sat up completely a little bit disappointed cause she wanted to wake up in his arms just she she slept.

T

his saddened her a little but couldn't take away her sweet which was still playing over her lips.

She couldn't forget the the night the night when both of them share equal love. Just by thinking of that her cheeks got heated up turning into deep crimson.

She walked slowly to the bathroom for her morning routine before heading to library she was extra excited today to go cause she wanted to see him but at the same time she was too shy to face him.

Aiyyappa how am gonna face him now?

She almost ran to the library keeping her gaze averted all around hoping to see him or expecting him to walk up to her. But to the reality he was no where to be seen.

Manik was suffering. His whole body was burning from inside he wanted to rest but couldn't. His eyes were sore although he slept well yesterday night but he also shed floods of tears.

All he can think right now was Nandini the way she calm him down...the way she reacted after hearing his past. He was more than overwhelmed by her soothing and understanding behavior. True she make him remind of Naithili but she also make him forget her.

He closed his eyes inhaling sharply thinking about the night a memorable one and even in so much pain he manage to smile genuinely.

"Manik..here drink this?".... Cabir came with a packet of blood.

Manik grabbed the packet attaching to his lips.

"How are you feeling now?"..
Cabir asked knowing about his weakness.

"Still low but I am used to it".... He smiled weakly finishing the packet after.

Cabir patted over his shoulder smiling with him. He knew about Manik's little secret which was in dark over hundred years only known to Alex and Cabir.

It was 20th July and only thirty days from now when he turned into vampire and the day he killed Naithili. The time of month of his weakness so he choose to shut himself not to be exposed to anyone and the count down begins from today.

"Good morning Nandini".... Jimin greeted her cheerfully with a smile on his pretty face.

"Oh..good morning Jimin... She sang happily.

"You seems to be in good mood today..any secret?".... He asked.

"Hahaha...no not really its just a fine morning".... She laughed cheerfully making Jimin to laugh along too.

"Okay...see you around".... He bid bye showing his palm.

"Bye".... She imitated him and entered the library as usually.

She waited till the dusk but Manik didn't showed up. She wanted to convince herself that he must be busy he will be there around but even after past twelve he wasn't seen.

Nandini couldn't sleep allowing tears to slip from her eyes washing out her kajal. She wanted to stay strong but her heart was weak when it comes to Manik and now it was at its limits.

Soon the days turned into weeks he was still nowhere to be seen. She was freaking out with every passing day. Her worries were now visible clearly on her face. She was afraid for him for him being hurt. She wanted to search for him but no clue was found as Cabir and Alex were gone too.

"Nandini you look so pale... Are you sick?".....Aayat asked placing her hand over Nandini's forehead checking her temperature.

"I am fine just little bit worried for tomorrow's exam".... She smile weakly trying to assure her.

But Aayat was smart enough to know the reason she knew well what was making her worry. She knew it was all about Manik but she choose not to talk about that thinking about her friend's comfort zone.

She nodded in respond detaching hand away from her forehead.

Finally the of fear arrived...examination day.

The campus was less noisy as students were busy memorizing the stuffs they had learned.

Nandini too walked with books in her hand making sure she remember all the topics. Her pace was fast as she kept biting her nails and turning the pages.

"Guys holy tree".... Navya shouted.

"Lets go pray there for our good result"..... Nandini suggested.

"Hmm..let's go".... They both ran together towards the holy tree only to see students already gathered around praying vigorously. They two too join the crowd making their way towards the front of tree ready to sang the prayer.

Talking about their never ending grievances and asking for the god's blessing they made their way together towards the examination hall ready to write the paper.

But Nandini stopped in between when her eyes saw him. He was walking along with Cabir taking slow step though she can't see his face but she felt his weakness. She wanted to ran and hug him but her thoughts couldn't be fulfilled cause to that system called mind.

"Nandini what happened let's go?"...
Navya called her seeing her lost.

"Nandini"

"Nandini".. This time shook her violently.

"Huh...what happen?".... Nandini replied lost

"Let's go...don't wanna write exam?"....Navya said dragging her.

So he came to give exams...ofcorse he will give exams how can he missed that. Oh god how much I wanna talk to him. I wonder did he missed me?

After the long three hours of examination she hurriedly walk into the hall waiting for Manik standing outside his class. She tapped her leg waiting impatiently when the wait was taking too long.

But soon her eyes saw him he walked out alone looking plain and sick. It seems that he didn't notice her presence so he kept walking ahead.

"Manik"..... She called.

He stopped in his place hearing her voice a small smile formed onto his lips maybe he missed same like her.

He didn't turned around to face her but soon she was standing face to face.

"We need to talk...meet me at the backside".... She said walking away making sure he follows her behind.
