Chapter 55

Silence

Nothing was spoken out of the killing machine and war genius. As they stood there with their eyes locked onto the enemy in front of them, all they did was stay silent. With each passing second, Medusa felt the tension in the air getting worse and worse. Was she allowed to move? Was she allowed to breathe? Was she allowed to even exist on this battlefield. One thing was certain to Medusa. If she made her presence known then she would be the first one to die.

Suddenly Daniel and Nagisa charged at each other as their fists collided with each other. A shockwave was sent through the area the moment this happened as they began to launch various punches and kicks at each other's vital organs, only for the other to block and counter said strike.

Soon Nagisa leapt backwards the moment he saw he was in the same vicinity as his sword. The moment he saw this, Daniel dashed towards Nagisa with incredible speed as he slammed his right fist into Nagisa's face with all his might. As this happened, for the first time in this fight, Daniel expressed a look of shock.

The moment Daniel's punch made contact with his face, Nagisa redirected the force of said punch back at Daniel. This caused Daniel to be sent flying, but Nagisa immediately caught up to him as he didn't give Daniel a single moment to regain his composure.

It was based on nothing but instinct. This was a weakness in a person who can copy that Nagisa discovered during his training with Bang and Goo. The best way to beat a copycat was to beat them down faster than they can copy. Right now, Daniel was caught in a torrent of strikes. With each hit that Nagisa landed on his body, Daniel's limbs felt numb one second after the other. Just as Nagisa sent Daniel flying again, he charged at the boy as fast as he could. But the split second Nagisa took to charge was all the time Daniel needed.

Before Nagisa realized it, Daniel had already dashed behind him and landed a powerful punch to his back. For a brief moment, it almost felt like Nagisa's back was broken before the boy elbowed Daniel in the chest. Shortly afterwards, Nagisa surprised Daniel as he simply returned the favor.

Nagisa copied the same punch Daniel did and hit him in the gut so hard that boy couldn't breathe for a few seconds. Right now, with each passing moment, Nagisa and Daniel were doing something terrifying. Adapting, copying, and even being able to evolve. Right now, these two boy's were doing all three actions at incredible speed.

Right now, Daniel copied Gun Park's Kyokushin Karate as he delivered a fatal blow to Nagisa's chest. The sound it made would be comparable to an explosion as Nagisa was almost sent flying backwards. However, Nagisa stood his ground as he put all of his strength into his legs. In just a split second, Nagisa was now behind Daniel as he shifted the strength from his legs to his fist.

Before Daniel realized it, he was already sent flying as he crashed through five trees before being stopped when he crashed into a boulder. The moment Daniel was getting up, Nagisa was already in the air as he was about to launch an axe kick aimed at his head. Without looking backwards, Daniel caught Nagisa's kick in his left hand as he elbowed the boy with his right elbow and sent him flying. Just as Nagisa was sent flying, Daniel was already right in front of him.

Daniel unleashed an attack onto Nagisa's left shoulder as the boy was now lying on the ground. The attack had the same destructive power as the first punch that Nagisa copied from Daniel. Seeing as Nagisa was no longer moving, Daniel turned around as he was heading off into the direction of where the others were.

A mistake.

Daniel suddenly turned around as Nagisa was no longer in his sight. Before he realized it, Daniel's body was slammed to the ground as Nagisa slammed his right hand-blade onto Daniel's right shoulder. However, this one action told Daniel something. Nagisa's hand blade was sharper and far more powerful than his own.

The killing machine made one simple mistake. Since both of them could copy, the body of the killing machine automatically assumed that Nagisa merely copied him. However, for Daniel Park, the hand-blade technique he used was just a mere copy. For Tomioka Nagisa, his hand-blade technique wasn't a copy. It was a technique he trained and honed beyond what Daniel Park was capable of. The biggest mistake that the killing machine made was simple.

Tomioka Nagisa isn't strong because he can copy. He's strong because no one could hope to copy his potential and hard work.

Daniel couldn't stop them. The moment he realized Nagisa attacked one area of his body, the war genius would have already attacked another part of his body. Right now, Nagisa attacked Daniel faster than the boy's body could register the pain of each area he attacked. In this moment, the killing machine known as Daniel Park was no longer a monster.

Daniel Park was merely reduced to prey.

With his final attack with the hand-blade, Nagisa slammed it into Daniel's face as he forced the boy's body to hit the ground so hard that a large crater formed underneath them. As Daniel was slowly getting back up, Nagisa was nowhere to be seen. The moment Daniel jumped out the crater, he felt it. Death was slowly approaching him as he saw Nagisa holding onto his katana.

As Nagisa took in as much oxygen as he could, Daniel lunged towards the boy with all the strength he had left. Time felt as if it was slowed down as Daniel had his right fist ready and Nagisa's grip on his blade was unshakable. After just a split second, the two boys passed each other. While Nagisa stabbed his sword into the ground and took a knee while blood escaped his mouth, Daniel was seen standing perfectly still. However, that was just a peaceful moment before disaster.

While Daniel managed to land a single punch that was enough to make Nagisa take a knee, Nagisa launched multiple slashes that was enough to take Daniel's life. In just a brief moment, Daniel's entire body was sliced apart into tiny pieces of flesh before disappearing into black smoke. Now lying on the ground, was a mannequin that was cut to pieces along with the sliced body of a snake. The reason Daniel Park's Ultra Instinct lost against Nagisa's was simple. While Daniel Park was ready for a fight.............

Tomioka Nagisa was ready for war.
