He could feel the warm liquid dripping down his gloved hand, could hear it drip on the dirt as he walked through the dark fog, the cemetery was empty, all that was around were stone pillars and tomb stones and the occasional statue, yet he darkening red eyes stayed fixed in front of him, he knew where he was going, he'd been there hundreds of times before

"It's silly to think you gave your life to protect me and my mother... Yet she tossed me away when  she heard you were dead, or as she had told me before she was shot dead" His voice held an ever growling emptiness, one void of happiness and love as his deep red eyes stared down at the memorial, the one his father had received for fighting i  the mobian war as he had learned "I don't think she ever wanted me to begin with, maybe it might have been better if i didn't exist, then maybe i wouldn't feel so betrayed or so joyful whenever I kill" he continued to speak to no one 

yet he seemed to wait i  the darkness for an answer, yet all he heard were whispers i  the wind, urging him to take revenge on those who had done him wrong, on those who mistreated him or used him; he listened to every word, maybe he was a monster for doing so, but wasn't he already a monster? A monster for killing a man who had saved him ten years ago? For killing his own mother when he was eight? Because he hated how she looked at him and found him weird that he was unable to speak at the age of eight? He didn't know the answer to his own questions and didn't think he wanted to know

"I'm sorry you gave your life up for no reason, the family you cherished died the moment you did" were his final words as he disappeared into the darkness that surrounded him, yet he never saw the sad ghostly eyes that had watched him from the moment he had entered the cemetery

"I know" it was faint and the other never heard it as they had already gone "I'm sorry Maurice..."
