“Shaadi?” Durga prasad Maheshwari looked puzzled. It was on one morning his wife broached such an unexpected topic of Swara and Sanskaar’s marriage. “Can you give me more details?”  He asked curiously.

Annapurna went on to explain their confessions to her on taking a liking to each other. " This is what we wanted, right? Then why delay the inevitable.” She waited.

Dp took his time weighing his thoughts. Swara and Sanskaar have taken a liking to each other. Well, It is definitely a good start but… “Liking each other and vowing to spend a lifetime with each other has a lot of differences, Annapurna. I think we should give them more time. Woh ek dusre ko theek se nahi jaante ab tak. I am sure they will let us know when they are ready.”

“We didn't know each other at all when we got married, Did we? Within an hour our match was fixed. Do you mean to say we are not happy?” Annapurna countered.

Dp smiled. “ You do have a point, but times have changed, Annapurna. I don't think we shouldn’t pressure them into something they might not be ready for and .. “ he paused. He didn't have much idea about Swara’s ideas or her beliefs on marriage, but his son … he does. He wouldn't be ready, yet. Didn't he try to broach the topic once or twice trying to understand what prompted such a change in him after Kavita and he didn't have any answers?

“ I am fine, Dad, and I don't want to talk about this please.” was his reply. And the topic was never brought up again. Sanskaar might look simple, but DP did know his son is layered and complex and has a long way before he comes along. He could only wish … Swara would be the answer to the riddle his son is. If Sanskaar has started to open up to Swara on his own accord, very well, but a push in the wrong direction could make him retreat.

“I stick to what I said, Annapurna.” Dp cleared, It's too early and it would only add complications. I suggest you refrain from any such conversations.”

Annapurna watched her husband leave for work. She sat in silence lost in her thoughts.

.-------------

Swara didn't realize how long she had slept. She had always been an early riser, but she didn't feel like waking up that morning.  The night had been perfect in many senses, other than the guilt that took over as she faced Annapurna Maheshwari

Last night out of the cabin, she felt as if stepping into a different world. There was no longer a bubble wrapped around. It has been a silent ride home. They didn't expect to find Annapurna waiting for them, maybe that threw her into a loop. Did she feel as if being scrutinized or was it her own notion of right and wrong that made her uncomfortable under her gaze? She bid a quick good night and rushed to her name, before exchanging an understanding glance with Sanskaar.

She couldn't bring herself to call their ‘passion’ wrong but deep down she knew many lines were blurred.

From what she has seen and observed during her stay in Maheshwari Mansion, Annapurna was a person who strongly believed in traditions and didn’t like rules being broken, at least set ones.

She had no intentions to hurt Annapurna, who had been nothing but sweet and kind to her but her love and need for Sanskaar ran much deeper …

And the scary part , she wouldn't mind defying a few rules for him, willingly.

------------

After a quick change into a night suit, her eyes fell on the love bite, right at a sweet spot between her neck and shoulder.

Mine! His husky whisper brushed her ear. Swara closed her eyes with a sigh. It felt like he was right next to her …his voice leaving those faint kisses over her body, those teasing murmurs… her hand touched the mark he left on her… and recalled the exact moment, when her head fell back to his shoulder and his lips dipped on her neck …and his hand on…

Her skin heated up, and Swara found her cheeks blushing to deep red. She could imagine the picture they could have made of two lovers tangled in passion…against the glass, the eroticism it could have painted. Feeling all those tingles of pleasure that night left her with …she made her way back to bed.

Sleep took over the minute she sank into softness. Well! Not as cozy and comfortable as Sanskaar Maheswari , she mused before she drifted off to dreamland.

---------

That night had been no different for Sanskaar. He definitely felt awkward facing his mother, feeling like a kid sneaking out and getting caught after the act, he almost laughed recalling the face-off. Wouldn't his mother be happiest knowing he is slowly trying to break through those barriers, he set up a few years ago? And his involvement with Swara should raise no questions. They loved her and would not complain , he smiled pulling over his oversized comfy t-shirt and hissed in little pain at… nail marks on his back.

His smile widened. A pleasurable pain  would be the right term. Damn!  how good her skin felt against his …or she felt against him. They fit in like perfect moulds. He could still smell those lingering traces of her perfume left on his body. Why wouldn't he when their half-naked bodies were curled up as one? This was just the start, he thought as he leaned back on the bed.

He and Swara would have more moments. It felt like a crazy equation of physical desires and emotional needs coupled together one preceding another in turns. Either way, he was more than glad …it was Swara.  He picked up his mobile.

------------------------

Close to 10 messages from Sanskaar Maheswari. A pleasant shock, the minute her eyes fell on notifications .

It was at night while she must be dreaming. He never messaged her before … like this. It had always been one or two clipped words—a question and answer.  Swara scrolled through each one quickly.

Her lips curved up .. wider and then wider. They ranged from asking if she slept and if she was alright to how he was hoping for a virtual good night kiss and demand for compensation for it and ended with a sweet dream message. Swara sighed and held the phone to her heart as joy bubbled within.

The ring on her mobile made her jump ..almost pulled her out of dreamland. The flashing name did nothing to calm her heart, instead, it bounced.

“Miss Bose,”  His voice came. That slow smooth baritone,  like melting honey.

“Yes, Mr. Maheswari !” That came out almost instinctively. They are so used to calling each other by surnames, it didn't feel different or sometimes they randomly oscillated between Swara and Sanskaar …she didn't mind either way.

“Can you get ready in an hour and meet me at the breakfast table? We might have to step out.” Fresh out of the shower,  in a towel, Sanskaar scanned his wardrobe as he talked. He needs something casual … to suit his mood, fresh, lively, and bright.

Swara wondered if they would be going back to the office.  Her heart sped up. Office and that cabin. Last night changed it all. Would she ever be able to step in like before?  They really did make out in the office cabin …like a page straight out of those mills and boons books. It was a Saturday morning, thankfully. And office work was the last thing on her mind.  “Sure!”

“Great! “ Sanskaar smiled and locked on a mustard yellow turtleneck t-shirt and blue jeans to go with it.

He can't wait for the day to start. He had plans.
