If someone wins a prize on “how to provoke Sanskaar Maheshwari in 2 seconds”, no doubt, Swara bose would have all the laurels to her credit. At least, Sanskaar thought so.
She always managed to mess him up in good and of course bad ways. Sanskaar always took pride in himself for his non-reactive mode.
He didn't believe in immediate responses. He liked to assess the situation…the pros and cons and then make the best possible move but with Swara Bose, he turned in someone else
Impulsive, Reckless & Brash. And he definitely didn't think.
---------
She could make it only till midway before he grabbed her by hand. Startled at first, Swara looked at him only to find him glaring at her. Something so lethal about Sanskaar Maheshwari appealed to her the most. Only she knew beneath cool, calm composure there is always a fire … simmering and when provoked it was an inferno. He hinted at adventure, excitement, and never a dull moment. She wanted all of that. And she knew what she was stepping into.
“Tell me , this is a joke” His eyes searched hers for some hint.
“Joking and teasing is your forte, Mr.Maheshwari. Not mine.” The clash of their eyes, she would bet. In some magical world, there would be sparks all around.
His grip tightened. He hasn't gotten over the jolt she threw at him. And there was only one question killing him from inside: “ Who?”
"That shouldn’t be of your concern, Mr. Maheshwari, ” Swara glared back. If he thinks he can intimidate her, he’s so wrong. And she wasn’t one to back down.
She noted all of it. The ticking jaw, the throbbing vein, and his eyes, many shades .. dark, like the edge of night.
“Who, Miss Bose?” His tone lowered by degrees. He could live with the fact it wasn't him but it could be someone else, the thought was raging enough to burn everything down within the vicinity.
“I never said it's gonna be you, Mr. Maheshwari.”
His hand dropped as if someone splashed a bucket of cold water. Sanskaar took a step back, his face void of any emotion. Swara composed herself. It came out harsher than she intended, but it was needed. Then she walked out of the cabin, leaving him behind.
--------
After a while
He watched her leave …in the red dress she talked about. Sanskaar gripped the handle of his door cabin. There would be some other man staring at her, taking in her sight, holding her hand, laughing with her, touching her…
The grip turned to a death hold. His first instinct was to pull her back into his arms and demand answers. Second, He wanted to rip apart whoever it was, tear limb by limb, and bury it deep down.
For a minute, He was stunned at the direction of his thoughts which were violent on many levels. He wasn't this way but Swara Bose is bent on pushing all his limits. If she thinks she can lead him and then have it her way, she is so wrong. It's time she knew it.
“Fine Swara! He murmured, loosening his hold " Let's play,”
--------
Swara looked at the person before her. Her colleague from the office who never made it a secret of his huge crush on her, a harmless one. That's what made it easy when she asked him out. He was more than willing to accompany her. She wasn’t free of guilt. It was wrong on her part, but …
Swara brushed it away. A friendly date wouldn't hurt. Just out of curiosity she waited if she could even feel a tinge of interest or some feeling for some other man … at least a butterfly in her tummy, just one but she felt none. However much she tried to focus on the person before him, Her heart and mind were consumed by thoughts of only one. Sanskaar Maheshwari.
Just his presence made her heart flutter, she could bet a thousand butterflies flitted their way up, down, and around. How he affected her with the slightest touch or a simple gaze. She wondered if he had any clue of how much she desired him … craved for him. He wouldn’t! Definitely.
Alas, he wouldn't have an idea. The whole thing was staged for him, to break free of whatever shackles are holding him back, but she should have known better.
-----------
He watched them in silence from the table far away. It might be a little late to catch up, but he wasn't missing the show. All it took was a phone call to his mother.
“Maa, I might need to pick her up. But she left in a hurry. Can you check with her and get me the details, please? I don't want to disturb her when she is with a friend.” Swara can deny him but not his mother. He is gonna pull every one of the strings to get back to her. And he was past good intentions.
And after 30 mins .. he sipped his drink, his eyes on the duo. Swara clearly looked disinterested, her body language was evident. She stirred restlessly in her seat, trying her best to not let her so-called date down and the guy, he knew from the office. Sameer, who was animatedly explaining something. Poor one. He felt so tempted to call out bluff right in the face … but he had better plans
Sanskaar stirred the drink and gulped in one shot. Time for the show.
-----
She could feel his eyes on her. She had no clue of what sort of connection or telepathy she shared with Sanskaar, but she could sense him. Swara looked around searching for the familiar face from dreams who became her reality. Could it mean, he?
Her heart skipped a beat when she found him walking towards her in slow, confident steps. … exactly the way she wanted him, in black. A fitting perfection to the description, she gave him.
He was a charmer indeed, the way he made few of the female population’s eyes turn on to him. Of course, he wouldn't mind the limelight, he must have been used to it by now. With every step he took, her heartbeat only hiked up.
Sanskaar was totally aware of admiring gazes on him , but he had eyes only for one person, Swara Bose. Cute or hot, she managed to steal and hold his attention in a crowd, like none. His eyes zeroed her at the moment he stepped in, but with her back turned to him..there is no way she could have seen him .. or maybe he didn't want to be ‘seen’.
He was right! Red suited her … and he couldn't wait to take a closer look. She let her hair loose …a simple bracelet and a watch, simple gold studs .. his eyes took in all as he closed the distance bit by bit.
Who invented that red lipstick? He must rot in hell. Why did it have to look so good on her lips, so striking? He was so used to that pink shade on them …now the deep shade was tempestuous enough.
For sure, God would have made Swara Bose with one singular intention .. torture Sanskaar Maheswari in every way possible.
“It's My turn, " Sanskaar thought as he stood before Swara.
And then …
------------
🤭Wait for it 😉💥
