In my AU, there's 5 stages of fading. And here's explanation for those 5 stages.

Stage no.1:- small cracks and body aches. Nothing too bad, cracks can heal in 2 weeks.

Stage no.2:- larger cracks and more body aches. It gets only slightly painful to move. Takes 1 month to heal.

Stage no.3:- even larger cracks and more body aches. Gets more painful to move. The country's flag starts fading and turn into their human form. Takes 3 months to heal.

Stage no.4:- really large cracks and extreme body aches. The country can still move, but it would be extremely painful. Their flag would completely fade away and change into their human form. Slightly touch them and they'll crack more, their skin becomes fragile. Their hair and body even starts turning grey. Their eyes start turning completely black. Takes 8 months to heal.

Stage no.5:- Cracks cover most of the country's body. Unable to move because of pain. Their skin would be almost grey and their eyes would be completely black. Blood would be leaking from their cracks, and they won't be able to talk at all. They can't heal if they come to this point.
