SL Kai and Misaki

"Switching Lives" A Crack One-shot  (P.S SL Means Switching Lives)

(A/N: This is a crazy idea that came to my mind suddenly XD So I tried it XD Hope you like it)

Misaki woke up in a room that she didn't recognize as hers. She tried to remember what happened. It was all blurry in her mind, though.

She held her head in frustration. She doesn't remember what happened the day before. She got up and groaned.

Misaki looked around as she tried to recognize the room. 'Normally, my memories were clear and vivid, but why can't I remember what happened yesterday?' She thought as she roamed around.

Then she came across a family picture. She looked at it and gasped when she saw that it was Kai's family picture. She realized that he could make everything clear to her.

She rushed outside, not caring if she was still wearing her Miyaji Academy uniform even though it was a Saturday.

----------

Kai looked around as he got up. 'How did I end up here...' He thought and tried to remember why he wasn't in his apartment and how did he get there.

"More importantly... Whose room is this?" He muttered and looked around. He was shocked, frustrated and confused at the same time.

Shocked, since he doesn't know how he ended up there. Frustrated, since he can't remember why he was there and finally confused, since he doesn't know why he was there and why he can't remember what happened.

He then noticed a family picture. His eyes widened as he recognized the kid in the picture as Misaki. It was no doubt, he was in Misaki's room.

"Okay... This got a whole lot more confusing..." He whispered and left the room, even though he was still in his Hitsue High uniform.

He walked past by Shin, who was confused. "Toshiki, that's cold of you..." He told Kai. "Moreover, why are you wearing your Hitsue uniform?" The green-haired male added.

"This is my uniform. Though, where is your niece?" Kai asked making Shin scratch his head.

"Niece? Do I have a niece? I thought that I only have a nephew... Why, Toshiki, do you have a cousin that's a girl? And I thought that you're enrolled in Miyaji?" He asked and the question took the brunette aback.

"W-What?" Kai asked, he was confused more than ever. 'This is really messed up...'

"Anyways, there's Earl Grey and toast at the kitchen, go eat your breakfast." Shin told him. "I'm just gonna go open the shop." He added making Kai sigh before nodding.

"If this is a dream, wake me up please..." He muttered and went to the kitchen. Certainly, he was experiencing Misaki's life.

'Wait, if I'm experiencing this, could this possibly mean that she's also experiencing this?' He thought and hastily got his phone before dialing Misaki.

--------

Misaki was running towards Card Capital until her phone rang. She stopped for a while and panted before answering the call. "Tokura!" It was Kai.

She immediately exclaimed after that. "Kai! Meet me at the park right now!"/"Tokura, meet me at the park right now!" They exclaimed at the same time.

Misaki was the one who hung up and immediately headed to the park. "It seems that Kai also noticed what's happening..." She said to herself as she sat on a park bench.

A few minutes later, Kai arrived at the park. He saw Misaki seated on a park bench. "...You noticed too, didn't you?" He asked her.

Misaki nonchalantly nodded. "It's weird..."

"Your uncle says that he doesn't have a niece... And that I'm enrolled in Miyaji..." Kai added.

Misaki thought for a while. "So... Does that mean that... We sort of... Switched lives?"

The brunette shrugged. "Sort of. I don't know."

The lilac-haired girl thought again. "How about we ask others too? I mean, Shin can be really forgetful at times."

"And if it really happened... Then what should we do about it?" Kai asked with a sigh.

"I don't know. How about we ask Miwa? He's over there." Misaki told him and Kai nodded.

"Be the one to call him. I don't know what would happen. If we really switched lives, then you'd be his best friend." He said making Misaki nod.

"Miwa!" She called out and Miwa turned his attention to them.

"Ah, Tokura! Wait, you're with nii-chan?" The blonde asked and the other two teens shared the same look; shocked.

One, since Miwa always calls Misaki as nee-san, two, he always notices Kai first before others and lastly, he called Kai as nii-chan.

"Yeah... Sort of?" Misaki replied more like a question.

"And it seems that you are in a good mood. That's a first. You always ignore me and shoot a glare." Miwa shrugged.

"Miwa, do you remember what happened yesterday?" Kai was the one who asked this time.

Miwa placed a hand under his chin and seemed to be thinking. "Hmm...Sorry, nope, I can't. And by the way nii-chan, aren't you the one with the perfect memory?"

"Great, this seems to be really messed up..." Kai muttered under his breath softly, that only Misaki was able to hear it.

"I agree with you, Kai..." She also whispered.

"And why did you call me in the first place?" Miwa asked making Misaki sigh.

"It's nothing. Leave now." She replied.

Miwa left after that. Kai sighed after Miwa had left. "So it really did happen...How are we going to deal with our lives now?"

"I wish that I know the answer to that. How about let's let this one slip off, and maybe next day, everything will return back to normal." Misaki replied calmly.

Kai nodded. "So, does this mean that I should work at your shop?"

"For now, yes. And don't meddle with my things."

"Same to you. Now, if you'll excuse me." Kai replied and left. "Honestly...Life just got hard for me..." He muttered as he walked back to Card Capital.

-------

Misaki sighed after Kai had left. It was hard for her as well. She decided to return to Kai's apartment and rest for a while before going back to Card Capital to clear her mind off things.

She doesn't know what to do anymore. She then realized that she doesn't have any spare clothes. Misaki sighed once again and decided to just wear her uniform. She then placed the deck box in her pocket.

-----

Kai sighed as he wore an apron. He sat near the counter and petted sub-manager, Misaki's cat given to her by her parents. But that doesn't matter. He sighed again as Shin changed the sign into "Open"

"What's wrong, Toshiki? You keep on sighing today." The green-haired male told him.

"I'm alright, everything is just complicated..." Kai murmured, however Shin was able to hear it. He was confused by ehat the brunette had said.

"Eh? What do you mean?" He wondered out loud.

"Shut up." Kai quoted what Misaki would usually say when Shin asks a lot.

"Now, you've returned." The green-haired male replied making Kai sigh again.

"More like has imitated what Tokura would usually say... I haven't returned..." The brunette whispered to himself as Shin left.

The automatic doors opened and someone walked in while greeting Kai. It was Miwa.

"Yo!" He greeted the brunette.

"Irashai." Kai replied with a sigh.

"Ouch, that's cold, nii-chan." Miwa made a hurt expression. "And why are you wearing a Hitsue High uniform? Aren't you enrolled in Miyaji?" The blonde added making Kai sigh again.

"First, I greeted you, so how is it cold?" Kai asked Miwa and the blonde did a peace sign. "And, why do you care if I would wear a Hitsue uniform?"

"Nii-chan, you sound like Tokura." Miwa told him.

Kai secretly glared at him. 'Tch...I'll make sure to bring this up when everything returns back to normal.' He thought as Miwa sat on a chair and waited for some other regulars.

Kai sighed again and laid his head over the table of the counter. He wanted to sleep again and wake up, knowing that everything is just a dream.

He slowly closed his eyes when suddenly Miwa called out and commented. "Nii-chan, you're not reading something. That's a first. And you look like you're planning to sleep." He told him. "Woah, you're really acting like that jerk best friend of mine."

The brunette shot a glare at him and Miwa shuddered a bit. 'He's really acting like Tokura... What happened?' He asked himself.

"Tch... Acting like his jerk best friend... I am that person..." Kai muttered sarcastically to himself. "You're going to be dead, Miwa..." He added.

The automatic doors opened again after a few minutes and this time a certain bluenette entered. "Konnichiwa!"

"Irashai, Aichi." Kai said and petted Sub-manager instead. He sighed as he didn't get a reaction from Aichi, at least.

"Yo, Aichi." Miwa greeted and did his usual thing to do when greeting someone.

"Eh, Miwa-kun is the only one around?" Aichi asked and Kai nodded.

"At the very least."

The doors opened again and a lilac-haired girl entered.

"Ah, Tokura-chan!" Aichi called out and Misaki nodded while giving Kai a look. Kai nodded in understanding.

"Yo, Tokura." Miwa walked up to Misaki making Kai sigh. He looked at Misaki and she understood what he meant; to ignore Miwa.

"And for a moment, I thought that you two switched roles or something like that yada yada." The blonde stated. He shuddered as he felt two intense glares at him.

"N-never mind that statement."

"Tokura-chan, may we fight?" Aichi asked Misaki and she sighed before nodding. Aichi and her went to a "Standing fight Table" and prepared to fight.

"So, how about we also fight, nii-chan?" Miwa asked Kai but he refused, like how Misaki would.

"I have the shop to mind." He made up an excuse.

"Aw, come on! There aren't a lot of costumers this early!" Miwa exclaimed making Kai sigh.

"Still no." He refused.

Aichi drew 5 cards. "You ready?"

Misaki nodded and drew a card. She silently gasped, barely noticeable as she drew a Kagero card. Kai was able to notice it, though so he gave a look of confusion.

'Dammit, one a fight starts you can't end it...' Misaki thought. She then glanced at Kai and he took out a deck box. He removed the cards in it and silently gasped when he saw that it wasn't his normal Kagero, it was Genesis.

He gave the same look to Misaki. Misaki stiffened and drew the other 4 cards. She regained her composure then.

"Are you alright, Tokura-chan?" Aichi asked and Misaki nodded hesitantly.

"Y-yeah. Shall we start?" She asked back and Aichi nodded. "Here I go."

"Stand up, Vanguard!" They said in unison.

"Huh, where is your 'the' when standing up your first vanguard?" Miwa asked as he was a spectator of the fight.

"Never mind that, Miwa." The lilac-haired girl replied.

"Liberator, Cheer up trumpeter!"

"P-perdition Dragon, Petal Flare!" She stammered a bit.

"What's wrong, Tokura-chan?" Aichi asked as he noticed her expression.

"No, this is nothing. Here I go!" Misaki interrupted and Aichi nodded. "Ride!"

"What? Where is the "The Vanguard" when you'll ride a card?" Miwa asked curiously.

"It doesn't matter. Ride! Little Liberator, Marron! Cheer up moves. Then I call Future Liberator, Llew!"

-----Line Break-----

"R-ride the Vanguard!" Misaki said as she rode Dragonic Overlord the Great.

"Huh? Where is your chant, Tokura? You are acting different today. Are you sick?" Miwa asked.

"N-no, I'm completely fine." She lied to them. 'Well, as if that I would tell you that everything is messed up and Kai and I switched roles and something like that yada yada.'

"I-is that so?" Aichi asked, he was now doubting when Misaki was just fine.

"Y-yeah, sorry about that. L-let me ride from the start." Misaki asked permission and Aichi nodded. "F-feel uplifted among the flames! My avatar! Ride the Vanguard! Perdition Emperor Dragon, Dragonic Overlord the Great!"

"Seek the mate."

"Are you really fine, Tokura? Just like nii-chan, you're acting different and weirdly." Miwa said and Aichi nodded in agreement.

"Yeah...It's like Tokura-chan is acting like Toshiki-san, and vice versa..."

'It's because I'm not being me and Tokura is not being her.' Kai thought as he heard what Aichi had said.

----Another Line Break----

"Alfred attacks Dragonic Overlord and Neoflame!" Aichi declared and dealt the 6th damage.

"I really think that you're not yourself, Tokura-chan." He stated and kept his deck.

"No, I'm really fine. Kai, why don't you fight Miwa?" She suggested and shot Kai a look that Miwa and Aichi didn't notice.

"But the store..."

"I'll mind it for you." She interrupted Kai making him sigh.

"Are you sure?" He asked again.

"Just do it." Misaki insisted making Kai sigh in defeat.

"Just because you forced me to..." He muttered and Misaki shot a sharp glare at him. "Fine, fine."

"Nii-chan, why don't you use Tokura's deck?" Miwa suggested.

"Yeah, why don't you do it, Toshiki-san?" Aichi seconded what Miwa said.

"If she allows me to..." He said and Misaki sighed before tossing the deck box. Kai caught it and muttered a thanks.

"I remember, nii-chan, why did you choose Genesis as your clan?" Miwa asked and Kai shrugged.

"Just felt like it."

Misaki walked to her usual place and wore an apron. She then petted sub-manager who was looking content. It's like the cat still knew that she is her actual owner.

"Stand up, Vanguard!" Miwa declared.

"Stand up, the Vanguard!" Kai also did the same.

"Huh, the? I thought you never said the?" Miwa asked as their astral bodies on Cray turned into their Starting Vanguards.

"Don't mind it."

"Now I'm really curious..." Before the blonde could say another word, the brunette cut him off.

"Here I go. Draw. Ride the Vanguard!"

"Honestly, nii-chan... You are acting unusual today..." Miwa muttered and Aichi laughed awkwardly, but it was void of any humor. It was just in agreement to Miwa's statement.

"Ride! Embodiment of Armor, Bahr!" The blonde declared. "Conroe moves! Attack!"

----Line Break----

"Ring the bell signaling the end of time, envoy from purgatory that will destroy the world! Ride the Vanguard! Perdition Dragon, Dragonic Overlord the Great!" Kai declared.

"This is really unusual, don't you think so, Aichi?" Miwa asked the bluehead and he nodded in agreement. "How can he memorize the chant when riding Tokura's avatar card?" The blonde added.

"Well, Toshiki-san is the one who has a perfect memory." Aichi said.

"Fair point, Aichi." Miwa agreed.

'Well, since this is my deck so I can really memorize it...And I don't have a perfect memory.' Kai thought. He then mentally shrugged.

"Attack!" The brunette declared and dealt the last damage to Miwa.

"Why are you strong when using a Kagero deck!?" Miwa asked while whining a bit.

"Because this is my deck..." Kai muttered but Aichi was able to hear it.

"Huh? Your deck? What do you mean, Toshiki-san?" Aichi asked in confusion.

"It's complicated, Aichi." Kai stated and Misaki nodded in agreement.

"Ehh? Tokura is agreeing with nii-chan as well?" Miwa asked and Misaki sighed.

"It's true. Everything just got complicated."

"With you two?" Miwa asked again.

"No. Not just with us, but with everything." Kai answered his question.

"I see..." The blonde didn't push the topic further. "I'm confused..." He whispered to Aichi who nodded in agreement.

"Same here, Miwa-kun." He replied.

Then all of a sudden, the doors opened and a girl with green hair flung herself to Kai. "Toshiki! I didn't see you for so long since last summer!" It was Akari.

"We're classmates, so how come?" Kai asked while looking at Misaki who sighed.

"Yotsue Akari, my bestfriend." She mouthed those words and Kai nodded.

"Ehh? Seriously? How come that I didn't notice you that much?" Akari asked.

"Not my problem." The brunette replied and sighed.

"Ah, ohayo, Aichi-kun!" Akari removed her grip on Kai and waved to Aichi.

"Ohayo, Akari-san." Aichi replied and smiled to her.

"Anno...And Mi...wa? Also To...kura?" The green-haired girl asked and the two teens who were mentioned nodded.

"Tokura, I never knew that you were a student of Miyaji." Akari wondered out as she noticed that Misaki was wearing a Miyaji uniform.

"Just found this in my closet. Decided to wear it." Misaki lied. As if she would tell Akari what actually happened.

"Mmh." Akari hummed in response.

"So, uh, Aichi..." Kai started. "May we talk?"

"What about, Toshiki-san? And sure, we may." Aichi replied, confused. (A/N: I had the wrong idea when writing this XD thought of a KaiChi but that's not actually gonna happen XD)

"Follow me." The brunette commanded and motioned for Aichi to follow him. The bluehead did as he was told to.

"Um...Hai?" Aichi and Kai left the shop.

Kai was walking ahead of Aichi and the younger was trailing behind him. "Anno...Toshiki-san...Are you enrolled in Hitsue?" The younger of the two asked.

"It may seem impossible, but yes." The older replied and continued walking. Aichi picked up his pace to catch up with him.

They arrived at the park. Both boys sat on a bench.

"...So, what now?" Aichi asked.

"..." Kai was silent as he tried to find the right words to say.

"Toshiki-san?" The younger called his attention.

"S-sorry about that. And...You and Miwa mentioned that something seems off in me and Tokura. Did you really notice?" The brunette asked and Aichi gave a look of confusion, but nodded nonetheless.

"This may seem impossible...But I'm not really using a Genesis deck. I really use a Kagero deck." He started.

"Is that so? Then why does Misaki use a Kagero deck?" Aichi asked, he was not sure what Kai was trying to imply.

"That's the point. Everyone says that. No matter who we ask, their replies are always the same. Even you." Kai stated.

"What are you trying to imply, Toshiki-san?" Aichi worded out the question on his mind.

"And just like what happened before... It's like when your deck was switched and nobody but you can remember...But that's not the case...Tokura and I sort of...switched roles..." Kai said, not knowing the right words to say.

"..." The younger was speechless.

"I don't expect you to believe me, but..." Aichi interrupted what Kai was about to say.

"I believe you, Toshi--No, Kai-kun..." He said.

"You remember?" Kai asked but much to his sadness, Aichi shook his head.

"I don't, but I felt the need to call you by that. Is that what I used to call you?" The older nodded as his response.

"I see...Then you also gave me this?" Aichi showed Blaster Blade and Kai nodded.

"You were beaten up badly by that time then."

"No one knows that...Except for you and Naoki...So I assume that you are really the one that I idolize, not Tokura-chan-" Kai cut him off.

"Misaki-san. That's how you call her."

"I see...So that sums it up. Hopefully everything will return back to normal, Kai-kun." Aichi smiled and stood up before leaving.

"Yeah...Hopefully it does." Kai said to himself and returned to Card Capital.

--Time Skip-- 6:21 PM

All customers and regulars of Card Capital had already left. Well, everyone except for Misaki. She stayed behind so that she can talk to Kai.

"Don't greet Shin when you're going to the room. Disagree when he says anything positive." Misaki reminded him.

"Sure. But hopefully, everything will be alright tomorrow..." Kai nodded and hoped that everything will return back to normal.

"Not hopefully. I'm sure that everything will be alright soon. But I'm not so sure if it's gonna be tomorrow." The lilac-haired girl argued. 'Honestly, how can Kai be so pessimistic?' She asked herself.

"Sure, if that's what you want to believe. All I want to happen is for this nightmare to end." The brunette said making the lilac-haired girl sigh.

"By this time, Shin would check up on you already if you already closed the shop. See you." Misaki bade farewell and left. Kai on the other hand just sighed.

He turned the signboard into "Closed" and made sure that everything is in order.

When Kai was sure that everything was in its right place, he carried Sub-manager, turned off the lights and headed to Misaki's room.

"Goodnight, Toshiki." Shin greeted but the brunette ignored him.

"Geez, as always you're so cold to me." The older of the two said but even so, Kai still ignored him and just went directly to Misaki's room.

He placed Sub-manager on Misaki's bed and lied down on the floor. He wasn't comfortable with sleeping on a bed that doesn't belong to him.

"What a nightmare...Hopefully it ends..." He muttered and slowly closed his eyes, then falling into a dreamless sleep.

---------------

Misaki sighed as she entered Kai's apartment. She turned on the lights and scanned the brunette's apartment. It wasn't that full, however it wasn't empty either.

She glanced at Kai's family picture. He was young back then, and he was smiling in the picture. Beside him was a man and a woman who looks like his parents. Misaki bit her lower lip as she remembered what happened to her parents.

"I feel sorry for you, Kai...I wish that you'll regain your lost smile..." She whispered. (A/N: Ohmygosh why do I feel touched by this? I feel sad too XC )

She lied down on the cold floor, not caring if she might get sick. Misaki just doesn't feel comfortable with the whole situation.

She sighed as she fell into a sleep void of any bad thoughts.

---Next Day---

"What?!" Misaki exclaimed as she opened the door. It was Miwa.

"Jeez, Tokura, you're cold as always..." The blonde muttered as he entered.

"So everything isn't fine yet..." Misaki whispered to herself.

"Huh? What did you say?" Miwa asked her.

"I said that you're really an idiot." The lilac-haired girl said and took her phone before leaving the room. She called Kai.

"I suppose that everything isn't alright yet?" Kai asked as soon as he answered the call causing Misaki to sigh.

"No, not yet. And Miwa is here, what should I do?" Misaki asked back.

"Just ignore him. Don't mind him." The brunette replied. Misaki could barely hear Shin calling for Kai.

"Was that Shin?" She asked while laughing a bit as she heard Kai's annoyed hiss.

"Yeah, unfortunately. Got to go, your uncle is calling me." He replied and hung up.

Misaki sighed as she heard a beep signaling that Kai already ended the call. She went back where Miwa was.

"Yo! Who was that, Tokura?" The blonde asked while drinking tea. The lilac-haired girl sighed.

"Your best friend." She replied making Miwa confused.

"Huh? Best friend?" He asked while tilting his head a bit to the side, however Misaki ignored him and was about to leave.

Miwa prevented her from doing so, though by asking a question. "You heading to Card Capital?"

The girl nodded as her response. "Come on, be less cold to me!" Miwa insisted.

"Why should I? After all, you're the one who thinks that I'm being cold." Misaki sighed.

"Fine, just let me tag along!" The blonde said and Misaki nodded as her response. "Would you stop nodding as your response?" Miwa asked as they left Kai's apartment.

---------

"Honestly, how could Tokura handle her daily life...?" Kai muttered to himself as he was asked by Shin on how much were the sales last day.

"I forgot again...Why don't you try to remember Toshiki? After all, you are the one who has a perfect memory..." The green-haired male asked causing the brunette to sigh.

"Just get over with it. Miwa and Tokura would head here soon, so just ask Miwa!" Kai said in annoyance.

"You have a point there..." Shin muttered as the automatic doors opened and two teens entered the shop.

"Miwa-kun! How could I check these again?" The green-haired male asked the blonde.

"Honestly, manager. You're the manager and I'm just a part-timer..." Miwa said and went to Shin. He showed him how to do it.

"Thank you very much!" Shin replied as Miwa explained to him.

"Why didn't you ask nii-chan to do it?" The teen asked the older and sighed. "Where is he, anyways?" He asked as Kai was gone.

Shin pointed to an area. Miwa looked over and saw that Kai and Misaki were talking. "Again?"

"What do you mean, Miwa-kun?" The older of the two asked the blonde.

Miwa sighed and replied. "Well, those two have been talking a lot lately, well since yesterday, and they're acting different from usual. What happened?"

Shin scratched his head even though it wasn't itchy. "You're right about that. I also noticed it." He said glancing over the two teens.

Misaki was feeling depressed and sighed. "I don't know what to do anymore..." She whispered only audible enough for Kai to hear.

"...What about school?" She added. "I don't want to have a bad record on my attendance..."

"Don't tell me that I have to go to your school as you?" Kai asked.

"No, I'm not saying that. But if I really have no choice, then I'll give up on my scholarship then...This is really messed up." She muttered and the brunette felt a bit sad for her. Just because of a messed up situation, she would have to give up on her scholarship that she really worked hard to receive.

"And I know that you're the same...I'll just go, I won't let you lose anything anymore." Misaki told Kai.

"Same. I will attend your school, then." Kai agreed. "And lose anything anymore? What do you mean?" He asked.

Misaki sighed. "You've been through a lot. And I can't allow you to lose your scholarship just because I didn't attend your school. I would feel guilty."

"You're being over dramatic, Tokura." Kai said with a slight smirk.

"Oh, am I?" Misaki asked back.

They were startled by a sound of a chair being dragged. "What's up, guys?" Miwa said as he placed the chair beside Misaki.

"None of your business." Misaki and Kai said in unison.

"Aw, that's mean, nii-chan, Tokura." Miwa pouted and sighed. "You two are acting differently lately. Mind sharing?" He added.

"Do I have to repeat it?" Kai asked.

"It's none of your business, Miwa." Misaki said frankly while motioning for Miwa to go.

"You two are mean...Oh well, I'll give you the privacy you want." The blonde winked and immediately left as he felt their glares.

"You don't know anything, Miwa." Misaki muttered. "And what privacy?! Stop misinterpreting me!" She exclaimed.

Miwa laughed a bit, barely audible. "Oh, Tokura. You are so clueless."

"Clueless about what?" Kai asked.

"Jeez, nii-chan, I was talking to Tokura." The blonde whispered.

"What?!" The brunette exclaimed since Miwa was at quite a distance, so they have to make their voices louder than usual so that they could hear each other.

"I said that you need to control your idiocy, Tokura!" Miwa exclaimed and Misaki became annoyed.

"Me?! Control my idiocy?! Well, you're the one who's supposed to control your stupidity!" She almost yelled.

"Right, right! I was just joking!" The blonde yelled.

"Okay, okay, no yelling in the shop." Shin said. "You should start working now, Toshiki." He added.

"Fine." Kai said curtly and went near the counter.

As he went there to his place, Miwa sat beside Misaki.

"Hehe, you are truly clueless, nee-san. Wait, nee-san? I mean Tokura." Miwa said and corrected himself.

"I'd prefer you calling me nee-san." Misaki said as she heard that Miwa called her by how he used to call her before.

"Why? Why? Why? Wh-" The blonde asked consecutively making the lilac-haired girl much more annoyed.

"Shut up!" She cut him off.

"Fine, fine." Miwa said. "Why?" He asked one last time. Misaki couldn't take it anymore and she hit his head with her fist.

"I told you to shut up." As she said that, Miwa pouted and went to Kai. He asked the brunette something. After that he went back to Misaki.

"Nii-chan says that you should go see him later at 12. Something important." Miwa said and Misaki nodded as her response.

Miwa smirked mischievously. "Sweet, are you two seeing each other? Or dating? Maybe in a relati--OW!!" He exclaimed when Misaki pinched his ear.

"Shut up!"

"Ow-ow-ow! F-fine! Let g-go-ow!"

----Next Day----

Kai woke up at 6 AM. He sighed as he has to go attend Miyaji Academy.

He petted sub-manager who was still sleeping. The cat purred causing Kai to smile. He then got up and went to prepare for school. (A/N: Don't ask how he has prepared and got his uniform -_-)

"Toshiki! Get up already!" He heard Shin call for him. He chuckled as he was already prepared.

"Coming!" Kai called back. "How could Tokura live her life, eh?" He asked himself.

He went downstairs and sat down. Shin greeted him but he ignored him.

"I shouldn't have greeted you..." The green-haired male said.

"Oh, so you're already prepared? Good for you." Shin stated and Kai nodded.

"And by the way, why are you so early?" The older of the two asked.

Kai stood up before replying. "I have something to do. Thanks for the meal." He said and left.

Shin, who didn't notice the brunette leaving, asked once again. "You have been talking to someone a lot. Why is that?" After asking, that was the time that he noticed the brunette's disappearance.

"And I'm left talking to thin air. Again." He sighed and returned to what he has been doing.

-----

Misaki shielded her eyes using her arm. She hissed as the sun's rays were too bright for her. She immediately got up and groaned.

She then remembered that she has to go to school. Well, not her usual school. She sighed and went to prepare. (A/N: Also don't ask how and why she has a uniform -_- Tanobo minna -_- Onegaishimas =_=)

"Might as well call him..." Misaki whispered as she was about to leave.

She called Kai and he immediately picked up.

"So you were thinking the same thing that I was?" Kai asked.

"I don't know what you're thinking. But it seems like it." Misaki replied.

"Stop making things confusing. And by the way, why are you allowing the tie to hang over your neck?" Kai asked again.

"It's none of your business. So, I'll just have to remind you that you should hang the tie around your neck. That's what I do." The lilac-haired girl said.

"Yeah, I know that. So as for you, wear the uniform properly. Don't make alternatives." The brunette replied.

"Okay, I'll try. And in the club meeting, you are not so close with Kourin. You always scold Naoki and Shingo. Sigh when Akari teases you about something during class." Misaki reminded him.

"..." Kai hummed as his response. "Ignore Miwa during club meetings, ignore everyone, only say something when required to answer and when challenged to fight."

"You're really lazy." Misaki commented.

"No, I'm not. So, that's it. I'll take my leave now." Kai replied and hung up.

As Misaki heard the beep, she sighed and also got her (Kai's) book bag and left.

"How could I attend a school that I'm not much used to? Gakuen Miyaji is focused on globalization, and I got used to it." She muttered and started walking to Hitsue High.

"Yo, Tokura." Miwa greeted Misaki as she arrived at the school. She just nodded slightly. "Now, now, we don't have to start the day by being cold, right?" The blonde said but even so, Misaki still ignored him.

"Meanie -_-" He gave up and they went to their classroom.

------------

"Where do I go next..." Kai whispered as he tried to find his way to the Academy. Well, he has been there before, however he took a different route this time since he came from Card Capital and not from his apartment. He sighed and just followed the road.

Luckily, he passed by Aichi. "Ohayo, Toshiki-san!" He greeted.

Kai ignored him. "I mean, Kai-kun. So you're going to school instead of Tokura-chan? Or I mean, Misaki-san?"

The brunette nodded. "She thinks that instead of her name, my name is written on the enrollment form. Which I believe in."

"I see. Hope that you'll survive." Aichi replied with a slight smirk-like smile.

"Really, Aichi? Survive?" The brunette asked back and Aichi laughed a bit.

"Shush, don't judge. Well then, see you later at the club meeting." The younger replied and left to go to his classroom, 1-A.

Kai sighed as he remembered that he doesn't know what Misaki's section was. Luckily, Akari came along. "Toshikiii!!"

"Geez, Akari, no need to exclaim." Kai replied as they went to their classroom.

Akari sat beside Kai who sat beside the window, just as how Misaki told him. Well, he also sat by the window in Hitsue.

"And what's with you and Tokura? What's your relationship?" The green-haired girl asked curiously.

"It's complicated." Kai answered, unaware that he might get misinterpreted.

"So you two are really--" The brunette cut Akari off before she could even continue.

"It's not in that way, Akari." He told her and sighed.

And things went smoothly afterwards.

--------

Misaki, on the other hand, had the situation going...

Not very smoothly.

Well, it wasn't even an understatement nor an overstatement, however things didn't go the way how Misaki expected it.

So, she just averted her gaze to outside the window, and stared outside. Her phone vibrated meaning that she received a text. She read it and secretly replied when their professor wasn't looking.

As soon as it was Lunch Break, Miwa immediately called her and they went to the roof. (A/N: Not sure, there was no scene in the anime that showed where they eat their lunch)

They sat near the edge, and all of a sudden, Miwa's phone rang. "Oh, it's nii-san. Should I answer it?" He asked making Misaki sigh.

"It's your phone. Your choice." She replied while rolling her eyes.

"Yeah, sure. I'll just answer it." Miwa replied and answered the call. "Mushimushi?"

("Miwa, is Tokura there?") Kai's voice rang out, unaware that Miwa didn't take it open-mindedly.

He chuckled making Misaki confused. "You're calling me, and you only want to talk to Tokura?"

("It's not what you think.") Kai replied.

"Psh, nii-san, you should have called her directly." Miwa told him and laughed a bit, causing Misaki to glare at him. "Oops, Tokura is glaring at me. Here she is."

("You really are an idiot, Miwa.") The brunette stated.

"Ouch, you two have the same similarities."

("Obviously. Similarities, right? So they're the same, idiot.")

"Yeah, yeah. Sometimes I wonder, Kai, Tokura, Kai, Tokura. Are you two actually different?" Miwa stated.

Kai could hear Misaki scolding Miwa. He chuckled. ("Serves you right.") He replied.

"Yeah. Now here's your girlfriend." The blonde said and he could hear Kai shouting at him. He kept his phone a few inches away from his ear.

"I'll call you instead." Misaki said and hung up as soon as she received Miwa's phone. She handed it to him and sighed.

-----------

"So, what now?" Akari asked as she saw that Kai sighed and removed the phone from his ear. "Why don't we go to the Physics Prep Room? A.K.A Cardfight Club's clubroom." She suggested.

"She said that she'll just call later." Kai replied to her. He then sighed again and went to the clubroom, as Akari suggested.

"Ah, Kai-kun, Akari-san!" Aichi greeted.

"Aichi, why do you call Boss Guy as Kai-kun?" Naoki asked.

"Right, right, Sendou-kun. Why do you call Kai Toshiki as Kai-kun?" Shingo also asked.

"Hey, hey! It's none of your business, Aichi can call him whatever he wants to call him." Kourin scolded the both of them.

"Sorry." The two boys said in sync and they glared at each other.

Kai pulled Aichi to the side and the bluenette knew why. "How is it going with Misaki-san?"

"Well, you can just read these text messages." Kai replied and handed his phone.

"Passcode?" Aichi asked.

"0828." Kai replied.

"August 28, eh?" The younger asked softly making the older nod. "And why did you add a lock to your phone, Kai-kun, if you're just gonna tell it?" He added.

Kai shrugged. "Well, Miwa likes to snoop through my phone." He explained making the bluenette nod in response.

"...I take it by your conversation that everything is as complicated as it is?" Aichi asked.

"Yep." And as soon as he replied, his phone rang.

"It's Misaki-san. Why don't you answer it?" Aichi returned to Kai his phone.

"Nahh. She'll be fine."

"Oi, Aichi, Boss guy, come join us!" Naoki suggested making the two other teens nod in response.

----Time Skip----

"Race you guys to Card Capital!" Naoki declared as he ran through the hallways. Kai scolded him.

"Don't run in the hallways!" He told him, causing Naoki to stop.

"Boss Guy..."

"What did you call me?" Kai asked and he fastened his pace to keep up with the others.

"I-I mean, Toshiki."

"Tsk, this juvenille delinquent, showing disrespect to upperclassmen." Shingo muttered loud enough for everyone to her. Naoki ignored him.

"Okay, now that we're outside, let's race!" Naoki declared as they stepped outside. Shingo and Aichi ran.

"Oi! I didn't say go yet!" The orange-haired teen exclaimed as he also ran.

The left two teens, which are accordingly Akari and Kai, were just staring unto the direction where the others had ran off to.

"Let's go?" Akari asked and Kai nodded, then they ran.

------

Classes were already over at Hitsue High.

Misaki and Miwa were already heading outside, when Misaki suddenly stopped. Miwa stopped as well.

"What's wrong, Tokura?" He asked the lilac-haired girl. She shrugged.

"I don't know, but can we pass by Miyaji?"

"Really, Tokura? You are that desperate to see him--ows..." Miwa stopped as Misaki punched him.

"Stop causing misunderstandings, Miwa." She told him and the blonde nodded.

"Fine, we'll pass by Miyaji." He replied.

"Actually, never mind." Misaki stated and Miwa looked at her with confusion. He then nodded when he saw what Misaki was refferring to.

Aichi was trying his best to catch up with Naoki and Shingo, while Kai was behind him and Akari was the last one.

"They're racing, aren't they?" Miwa asked. Misaki shrugged.

"What a way to state the obvious." She replied as they continued walking to Card Capital.

"You're so mean to me, Tokura..." The blonded muttered and followed Misaki.

"Oh, am I?" She asked back.

They entered Card Capital and saw that everyone in Miyaji's Cardfight Club were already there. Also Morikawa, Izaki and Kamui.

"Ah, Miwa-senpai! Tokura!" Kamui greeted.

"Honestly, Kamui, you need to show more respect to Tokura-san." Izaki told the black-haired boy causing him to huff.

"Yeah, sure, um... Morisaki?" He replied making Izaki fall over.

"It's Izaki! Morikawa is different from me!"

"Ah, sorry." Kamui apologized. "Aichi onii-san, let's fight!" He told the bluenette.

Aichi nodded in response with a smile and they went to a fight table.

"How about you and Tokura fight, nii-san?" Miwa suggested and the two teens glared at him. The blonde raised both of his hands in defense.

"Woah, woah, calm down. I didn't mean anything by that, unless..." He trailed off. Misaki glared harder at him and punched his head.

"O-ow! Fine, Tokura, then don't!"

"Tsk, come on Kai." Misaki said and they went to a fight table.

"Is he really that annoying?" She asked Kai, making him sigh.

(This would be a full cardfight with conversation)

"Most of the time, actually. So now, Stand up the Vanguard!"

"Stand up, Vanguard!"

"W-what?" Misaki asked.

"Okay, I just forgot to switch with you..." Kai replied. Well, his starting vanguard was "Regalia of Prayers, Pray Angel" and Misaki's starting vanguard was "Perdition Dragon, Petal Flare Dracokid". They totally forgot avout their decks.

"I really have no idea when it comes to your Kagero. Well, what else can I do?" Misaki told him.

Kai nodded. "So, here I go. Draw. Ride! Purification Regalia, Pure Angel. Pray Angel moves."

"Draw. Ride! Perdition Dragon, Gia! I call another Gia. Attack! Next, Gia, boosted by Petal Flare! Drive check, critical trigger." Misaki declared.

"Cool, you dealt 3 damage in one turn." Kai complimented her.

"Shut up, it's normal. Don't praise me cheaply."

"Fine, if you say so. But there is a chance that you might defeat me." The brunette stated.

"Harhar. It's your turn." Misaki rolled her eyes and Kai drew a card.

"Ride the Vanguard! Regalia of Fate, Norn! I call Regalia of Trees, Jupiter and Regalia of Fertility, Freyja. Freyja attacks." Kai declared while calling some cards.

"No guard. Damage check, Draw trigger. Power to my vanguard and I draw."

"Next, Norn, boosted by Pray Angel. Drive check, no trigger. Jupiter attacks, with her skill she gets power +3000."

"No guard. Another Draw trigger. Wow, I'll have to say that you're really good with a Genesis deck." This time, Misaki was the one who complimented him.

"Tch, it's natural. The attacks, I mean." The brunette replied.

Meanwhile, the others were confused. Especially Miwa. 'Why would Tokura compliment Kai about using a Genesis deck?' He asked himself.

Everybody were having the same thoughts as they heard their conversation, well, everybody except for Aichi.

Back to the two of them, Misaki drew a card. "Ride, Whirlwind Dragon. Call, Menace Laser Dragon. Skill activated, I retire Jupiter."

"So now you know the effect? I could still remember the time when you didn't activate its effect." Kai chuckled as he put Jupiter into the drop zone.

"Shut up. Gia attacks Norn." The lilac-haired girl told him.

"No guard. Damage check, Critical trigger. All effects to Norn."

"And even so while using my deck, you could still pull the triggers at the right time." Misaki told him while smiling a bit, barely noticeable.

"Yeah, sure. Are you going to attack?"

"Patience, please. Don't be impatient. Boosted by Petal Flare, Whirlwind Dragon attacks."

"I guard with Clear Angel!"

"So that's the time when you guard, huh? Drive check, no trigger. Menace Laser attacks Freyja."

Kai put Freyja into the drop zone. "Draw, ride. Regalia of Wisdom, Angelica. I call Ordain, Jupiter and Freyja. Angelica attacks, boosted by Pray Angel. With her skill, I soulcharge 1 card."

"No guard."

"Twin Drive, First, No trigger. Second, Critical Trigger. Critical to Angelica, Power to Jupiter."

"Why can you really pull triggers at the exact time you need them?" Misaki muttered as she placed two damage at her damage zone.

"Since I can be lucky." Kai replied.

The lilac-haired girl smirked a bit. "So you mean that you're just being lucky, not that you have great skill?"

"I didn't mean it that way. Or whatever you believe. With a boost from Ordain, Freyja."

"Haha. Guard."

"Tch, it was a tie up to now." Kai told her as he declared the end of his turn.

"Yah, and why are you so troubled? Usually you are just calm. Where is your poker face?" Misaki asked and drew a card.

"Since this is not my normal deck. And just go on with it." The brunette was annoyed.

"Tsk, fine."

--------

"Yep, you just declared your final turn." Misaki stated as Kai drew a card and declared final turn.

"Since I'm sure that it would be." Kai replied.

"Hah, you're still arrogant even when using a different deck." Misaki told him as she heard his reply.

"Shut up. Break ride, Cosmic Regalia, CEO Yggdrasil. Soulblast 3, Achilis's skill, when it is put into the drop zone from the soul, my vanguard gets power +5000. 3 of them so +15000. Break ride skill, power +10000 and I draw two cards." Kai activated some effects.

"So, a total of +25000? Not bad." The lilac-haired girl said.

"Was that supposed to be sarcasm? Is that an insult or a compliment?"

"Whatever. Go on."

"Call, Shiny Angel. I activate its skill, I return 3 Achilis units to the soul. I call Pure Angel, with her skill, I counterblast 1 and my Vanguard gets power +5000 and a skill." He used a chain of effects.

"And...?"

"Shut up, don't interrupt me. I put Pray Angel into the soul, and my Vanguard gets power +5000 and I soulcharge 3. I call another Pure Angel and her skill activates again."

"Cool, so now what?" Misaki interrupted him again.

"Whatever. I call Angelica and Freyja. Then seek mate. Regalia of Fate, Norn. Legion! Freyja's skill, counterblast 1 and soulcharge 3, then she gets power +5000. Angelica attacks!"

Misaki knew what Kai was about to do. So she guarded from her hand.

"Next, with a boost from Pure Angel, Freyja attacks Menace Laser." Kai attacked her rear-guard.

"Hmph. Attack with your Vanguard, soulblast, superior call. Yeah, I know." Misaki stated what Kai was most probably do.

"Yep, exactly. With a boost from Shiny Angel, Legion attack. Skill activated, soulblast 6. Achilis' skill. My vanguard gets power +5000, three of them so power +15000. Norn's skill. Power +5000, two of them so power +10000. Chamomile's skill, counterblast 1, superior call in exchange with Angelica. She retires. Yggdrasil's skill, critical +1 and you can't guard with grade 1 units or above from your hand. Total attacking power of 92000."

"92000?!" Aichi, who was watching, exclaimed.

"And she can't use a perfect guard or a quintet wall, even worse, Yggdrasil has an extra critical." Miwa stated.

"Then... Guard." Misaki used up all of her hand cards. "Also, intercept." (A/N: She was able to guard since she didn't always guard, thus saving up her hand for a time like this)

"95000 total? But whatever. Twin drive, no trigger. You used up all of your hand cards and intercepts, so, Chamomile, deal the finishing blow."

"Damage check, no trigger. Congratulations, you won." Misaki said and kept her (Kai's) deck, Kai doing the same thing.

"Now it's already 5 in the afternoon, I'll take my leave." The lilac-haired girl said and left.

"I'll be going too, Emi and Oka-san may already be worried. Sayonara!" Aichi also left.

"Bye nii-san, I'll be leaving too. It was an interesting fight, by the way." Miwa said and also left.

"So I'll be closing the shop, then." Kai whispered as everyone else started leaving, minute by minute.

He made sure that everything was in order, then he carried sub-manager and went to his (Misaki's) room.

He placed sub-manager on the bed and lied down beside it, not bothering to change clothes.

"Today was such a weird day..." Kai whispered and slowly fell asleep.

----Next Day----

Misaki was awoken by a knock. She opened the door while yawning a bit. It was still early. Classes were cancelled for an unknown reason.

As she opened the door, she heard the voice of a certain blonde. "Yo! Up early in the morning, Kai?"

She gasped as she realized that everything was back to normal. "Eh? Nee-chan, what are you doing here?"

"Don't get the wrong idea!" Misaki immediately exclaimed.

"Is that so? Where is Kai?" Miwa asked.

"Card Capital. He is there." The lilac-haired girl replied, unaware that Miwa already had the wrong idea.

"I think that something is off...Wait, why are you wearing a Hitsue High uniform?" The blonde asked as he noticed that Misaki was wearing a uniform.

Misaki mentally facepalmed, knowing that she might have to explain everything. "Do you remember anything that happened last Saturday?" She asked.

"Saturday, huh? Uh, nope, I don't even remember what kind of tea I had today." Miwa shook his head.

"Then, how about last Sunday? Or even yesterday?" The lilac-haired girl consecutively asked.

"Nope, not a thing. What's the matter, anyways nee-chan?" The blonde asked back.

"Tsk, then check your phone." Miwa did as Misaki told him to do so.

(This is the conversation)

Kai: Is Tokura there?

Miwa: Yes, why? Too desperate to talk to your girlfriend?

Kai: She's not my girlfriend. Besides, you're mostly the one who's caring and concerned.

Miwa: True, true. Now, why don't you go here at Hitsue if you want to talk to her desperately?

Kai: Tch, I'm not desperate. Tell her to go here at Miyaji. Something important.

Miwa: Just give me a call and I'll hand the phone to her.

(End of Conversation)

"Wait, what?!" Miwa exclaimed as he scrolled through his messages with Kai.

"Chotto, chotto, chotto! Huh?!" He was confused as he could ever be. Misaki sighed.

"Told you so."

"Nee-chan! Explain everything! I'm so confused!" The blonde almost pleaded.

"So, here goes nothing..." Misaki muttered and started explaining.

----------

"Misaki! Get up already!" Kai heard Shin's voice calling for his niece.

"So everything is back to normal, and yet why am I here? More so, how can I solve this problem?" He muttered as he knows that Shin might get the wrong idea. Well, who wouldn't have the wrong idea if they found a guy sleeping in a girl's room?

"Misaki? Are you alright?" Shin asked again. Kai heard his footsteps and cursed mentally.

"I hope that I'll get out of this alive..." The brunette whispered as he glanced at the window. He opened it and took a deep breath as he heard Shin's footsteps getting closer.

Shin took a hold of the doorknob. It wasn't locked. The green-haired male opened the door and saw nobody. Well, nobody except for the cat on Misaki's bed.

"Huh? Where did Misaki go?" He whispered to himself. Then he noticed that the window was open. "I never knew that Misaki likes to have the windows open...Wait, could it be possible that she jumped outside?!" Shin exclaimed in panic. He has gone paranoid.

-----

Kai ran to his apartment. He couldn't afford to let Shin see him, or else. He then saw Misaki and Miwa leaving his apartment.

"Kai! Mind explaining?! I'm so confused!" Miwa exlaimed as he saw Kai. Kai stopped and panted.

"Heh, what's wrong with you, Kai? Who are you running from?" Miwa asked.

"I jumped outside the window...A..And ran..." Kai replied between gasps.

"I think that I know why." Misaki replied, causing Miwa to laugh a bit and for Kai to glare at the blonde.

"So everything has already returned to normal..." Kai said and Misaki nodded in agreement.

"The nightmare has ended."

(A/N: Oh my gosh, this ending sucked...)

(A/N: This is really a weird idea XD And it took me an hour to make this, haha CX So now I also take requests if you want these kinds of one-shots! It doesn't have to be a certain ship, just tell me who the characters are XD

This is very long, right? Well, this was supposed to have different parts, however this is my first time writing this kind of one-shot so I compiled it. So if I'll write more one-shots like these, then I'll divide it into different parts.

Yep, and also, I have a friend who just started writing, so here are some tips. I'll just write it here.

(These are just from my experience, so bear with it if I'm mistaken, or rather, tell me about it.)

Four things first: Capitalization, Punctuation, Grammar and Spacing.

Do those things in order.

First, capitalization since it would be the first thing that the readers would notice.

Also, check your title if it's capitalized properly. Always capitalize the first letter of every word, except if it's a, an, of, and, the, and some other words. However, capitalize them only if they're the first word of your title. E.g "The Enchantress" or "The Private and the Captain"

Next, punctuation. Of course, it is required. It would make the story more presentable and less confusing. But don't overdo it!

Then, grammar. You have to check your grammar since most readers would turn away if there is a mistake in grammar.

And finally, spacing. You have to know the proper spacing. Like in dialogues, there should only be one person speaking in one paragraph (Or whatever you call it) then add two more spaces for the next person to make it less confusing.

So, as for the cover:

Don't get pictures from the google. Why? Since it would make the maker of that picture mad, sad or angry if he/she noticed it.

Your book might get reported, and it might even be removed from wattpad. Your account can also be blocked. This almost happened to me, actually. T_T

So for your pictures on the cover, don't use it unless:

1. It is your own work

2. You didn't get it in the internet and just edited it a bit

3. It is a screenshot from the anime

4. You had permission from the maker of the picture

And for P.O.Vs:

I'd recommend third-person (it's up to you if it's limited or unlimited, as long as it's third person) for prologues and descriptions.

Why? Because the readers don't know who that person is yet and what is the situation when it's first person. However, if you can explain it well then you may use First-person instead.

Yep, and try to limit your P.O.V's into 3. Well, you may exceed it if you can justify the mistakes.

Oops, and one more tip. This is very important.

WRITE IN YOUR COMFORT ZONE.

Yeps, capitalized. Write in your comfort zone. It will make your life easier. (Whoops, overdramatic!) Well, almost.

Don't write in a certain category just because others forced you to. It will make you feel pressurized. (Lol, is pressurized a word? XD) I mean, you will feel pressure.

So, that's it, I hope that I helped you.

-LinkGenesisJoker

P.S Any requests and thoughts? Just add "SL" or whatever, just specify if you want a one-shot like this)
