KaiSaki

It wasn't just a simple card. It was her most prized possesion. Many would think it was just a simple card, but for Misaki it has high sentimental value.

It was the last thing that her parents gave her before they.... died.

And now it was lost, Misaki was determined to find it. Goddess of the full moon, Tsukuyomi.

She glanced outside and, coincidentially it was a full moon.

Misaki snuck outside and searched for it at the park. She may be just 12 years old, yet she was so skilled at jumping down and balancing.

But it was hopeless. She never found it. So she went home.

The next day, Misaki saw someone at the shop. He was never there before, since Misaki saw him only now.

"Welcome." Misaki greeted, yet it sounded sad. She saw the person get something in his pocket.

"Uh, this?" He returned it. Misaki glanced at the card. It was the exact card that she lost.

"Tsukuyomi... Arigato!" She said gratefully.

"Call me Toshiki." He said.

"Arigato, Toshiki!"

And since that day, they became really good friends. Toshiki went everyday to the shop, and Misaki was always there waiting.

Until one day, Toshiki never returned. Misaki was waiting until nighttime, yet he wasn't there.

Misaki waited outside, and stared at the sky. She noticed it was a full moon. Misaki felt sad. She remembered the day when she lost her card.

And she also remembered when she met someone due to it.

Days... Months... Years have passed. Misaki was already 16 and she was now a 2nd year high school student.

She keeps her card in a binder now, just to make sure its condition would be safe.

Misaki passed by the park, and memories returned to her. She can still remember the time when she lost Tsukuyomi. She was desperate to find it that time so she snuck out.

Misaki didn't notice that she was staring at the park for some while now. She only stopped when she realized it.

Misaki was staring at the ground as she walked, causing her to collide with someone. Misaki immediately stood up and apologized.

"Sorry! I'm so sorry! I..I wasn't looking where I was going!" She immediately left.

Misaki ran inside the shop. She quickly went to her room and locked the door. Misaki leaned on the door.

"Misaki? I heard you ran so I rushed here. What's wrong?" She heard her uncle ask.

"I'm alright, Shin." She replied and Shin left. Misaki laid on her bed, searching for something in her bag. Until she noticed something was missing.

The day after that, it was Saturday. Misaki was sitting behind the counter, until 2 people entered.

"Kai, why are you ignoring me?!" The blonde asked his brunette friend, only to get ignored. Misaki only saw them today, so she assumed that they were new customers.

"Welcome." Misaki said plainly.

"You lost something?" The brunette asked her.

"H..How did you know?"

"Does it look like this?" He got something from his pocket.

Goddess of Good luck, Fortuna.

"Arigato, Kai." Misaki said as she received it. Misaki felt an intense wave of deja vu.

"Uhh... This?"

"Tsukuyomi... Arigato!"

"Call me Toshiki."

"Arigato, Toshiki!"

'Toshiki and Kai has some similarities...' She thought.

And since that day, Miwa and Kai always went to Card Capital.

But as time passed, Misaki noticed herself having a weird feeling.

She felt like something exactly like this has happened before. But it was impossible.

Toshiki left her.
And it's impossible that Toshiki and Kai are the same.

Then, time brings Kai and Misaki closer. They were teamed up with Aichi and Kamui as Team Q4.

That was the time when Misaki realized that Toshiki and Kai are one person. She confronted him about it.

"Toshiki, why did you leave before?" That question caught Kai off guard.

"How..Did you know?" He asked her.

"Actually, you were the one who returned Tsukuyomi to me, then told me to call you Toshiki. And now, you returned Fortuna to me, and introduced yourself as Kai. Do you really think that I'm stupid to not realize that.. You're the same person?"

Kai was dumbfounded. Misaki's explaination caught him off guard there.

"You were my childhood friend?" Misaki felt hurt. How could he forget?

But she wonders, why did she feel hurt? It's not like it would kill her, the fact that Kai doesn't remember, does it?

"I..I'm sorry, I don't know...Nor I do remember... I left since my parents died..." Kai explained.

But why did that explaination didn't satisfy Misaki? She didn't listen to him. She left when Kai told her that he doesn't remember.

Days.. Weeks.. Months..

She has been ignoring him, even though Kai was showing much effort to apologize.

Who knew that Toshiki Kai would show much effort in apologizing? Because he loves her.

Kai loved her from the start, yet he managed to keep it hidden. He hated himself for causing her pain when he left her in their childhood.

He walked by the park, hoping to collide with Misaki again and tell her how much he loves her. Why doesn't he wait at Card Capital? Since Misaki stopped working as a clerk there.

He saw Misaki, but the moment that their eyes met she ran.

She ran, causing something to fall on the ground since her bag was open.

A binder. It seems like it was her journal.

Kai opened it since Misaki was already gone, and he knew it was no use chasing her.

He started reading its contents, until one entry caught his attention.

March 21

That was the day when Misaki told him that she was his childhood friend.

It hurts. It hurts me to know that he doesn't remember me. Why does it hurt? Because I realized that I am not important to him. It hurts since I loved him.

That caused Kai to be shocked.

"Give me that, Kai!" He heard a familiar voice say.

But instead of returning it, he didn't hesitate to hug her, which caught her off guard.

"Why.. why did I forget you? I don't know...And I hated myself for doing that. Hate me if you want, I don't want you to rely that I'll always be there. I don't want you to be hurt. Even if you hate me...I just want you to accept my apology. Because I love you." Kai whispered.

"I..." Tears fell from her eyes. Many years have passed since she last heard those words.

Misaki remained silent as she let the tears fall, and Kai felt guilty as he knew that he was the reason why she was crying.

He hugged her tighter and pulled her closer. "Sorry if I hurt you again...I'll try my best to stop it."

"No...It's alright...I'm willing to take the risk of getting hurt again." Misaki whispered. "I love you too..."

End...

Sorry if this sucks. This is my first time writing a one shot so forgive me!
