Adrien's POV

At 9:30 Ladybug meets me at Master Fu's place.

"Hey Cat. You ready?"

"I'm ready as I'll ever be."

"Alright, let's go."

We go inside, making sure nobody sees us, then knock at Master's door.

"Come in." He says.

I open the door and follow Ladybug inside, saying hello.

"Ah, Ladybug. Cat Noir. What are you to doing here? Together?"

I'm not sure if it's just me, but he seems to be suggesting something with his 'together'.

"Well Master, we need to talk with you." Ladybug says.

"About what?"

"We have a theory on Hawkmoth's identity, and Mayura's, so we came to ask what to do." I inform him.

"Oh, what's your theory?"

"We think it could be Gabriel Agreste, and his assistant Nathalie." I reply.

"Yeah, remember, we talked about it being him before, but then he was akumatized, so it couldn't  be him, but then Cat said he would've had to akumatize himself, and I thought that could be exactly what he did." Ladybug explains to him.

Master quickly looks at me, obviously worried about how I'm taking this.

I purse my lips and raise my eyebrows, meaning I don't know what to think.

"Yes, he may have done that to throw suspicion off himself, but what proof do you have?"

"Um, not much really, other than what we discussed before."

"Hm. Well, see what you can dig up, and then come back."

"Ok, but what should we do if we find solid proof?" I ask.

"Come to me first, then we'll talk about our next move."

"Alright. Thanks Master, see you later." Ladybug says.

"Goodbye you two." He says as we walk away, waving.

"Welp, time to do some research." I say.

"Yep, I'll go look up articles about him online, what are you gonna do?"

"Hm, I'll look at his fashion designs and see if there could be any relations to akuma outfits. Do you think there would be?"

"Maybe. See you tomorrow!"

"Yeah. See ya!"

She takes out her yo-yo and swings away, and I start to go home, but decide to lap Paris a couple times, to clear my head.

I get onto the rooftops and start running, jumping, and I immediately start to feel better.

Until I realize where I'm at.

How did this happen?

I'm on the building in front of
Y/n's balcony.

I stand there for a minute, watching, listening.

Then I notice something.

The chair is turned over, and so is a small table.

That's when I see the door is slightly ajar.

This is weird, she always locks the door.

Unless she's waiting for me, then sometimes she leaves it unlocked.

But she wouldn't have been waiting, so why is the door open?

And what's up with everything turned over?

Something must be wrong.

I leap to the balcony and look around.

After fixing the overturned furniture, I sniff the air.

As weird as it is, I have most cat senses, including scent.

But what's even weirder is the fact that I'm picking up traces of my father's favorite cologne.

Oh no...

Is our theory correct?

Is my dad actually Hawkmoth?

But why would he be here?

NO!

He somehow found out about me and y/n, I assume from when I was akumatized, or it's possible that her friend actually was working with him.

Either way, someone was here, and it looks like a struggle took place.

I open the balcony door, the lights are off, but I can see well enough.

"Y/n? Y/n are you in here!?" I whisper shout.

No response.

Her bed is empty, other than a book, so maybe she's ok, the bedroom door is open a bit, she could have just went to the bathroom, or to get a drink.

I listen, but can't hear any movements.

Deciding to wait for a minute, to see if she's here or not, I sit on the bed.

All the memories come crashing to me, for barely knowing each other a month, we've had so many good times.

Sitting here eating candy, me helping her with schoolwork, and just getting to know each other.

I never knew how much I could enjoy being in someone's presence, much less how it felt to have someone finally accept me for who I really am.

Adrien is moreso a fake persona, one that I have to keep up for my father.

The niceness isn't fake though, I really do want to be kind to everyone.

But most stuff is.

I'm not a posh, perfect mannered person.

Not really.

I like to joke around, make puns, and just be goofy.

Y/n lets me do that.

Ladybug always told me off for joking around at unfortunate times, but y/n didn't really care.

She told me it wasn't really the time for joking, but still laughed.

I've been sitting here for around 5 minutes and she still hasn't come back, so my fear must be true.

Y/n has been taken by Hawkmoth.

You had been having a normal night, laying in bed reading, when you'd heard a knock on the balcony door.

You gasp and whisper "Kitty?" wishfully thinking Cat Noir had either defeated Hawkmoth, or just decided it was okay to still visit.

So, without looking first, you open the door, since you're so used to Cat coming, you wouldn't expect anyone else could even get there.

Oh how you were wrong.

Standing there was none other than the man who'd ruined your chances of being friends -or anything else- with Cat.

Hawkmoth.

You gasp in fear at his looming figure, then try to shut the door on him, but he's fast.

He quickly pushes the door, letting himself inside.

"What do you want from me?! Why are you here?!" You say while trying to find something to use as a weapon.

"I don't want anything from you. I want something from your little friend." He says as he gestures to the Cat Noir shirt you'd just gotten.

So Cat was right, it really was dangerous.

You try to punch him, but he's fast, and just grabs your arm.

You try to hit him with the other hand, but he catches that one too.

He ties them together, then gags you, but you still try to get away.

He pulls you by the arms out the balcony door, with you continuing the efforts to pull away, but only turn some furniture over.

The supervillain has apparently had enough, so he hits you over the head with his cane, and the last thing you see before darkness is an evil smile.

Cat's POV

I quickly call Ladybug, as I'm running back to Master's house.

She doesn't answer, she must have already detransformed.

"Ladybug, something horrible has happened! Hawkmoth has taken y/n! Please hurry back to Master Fu's place and meet us in there!"

I stop in front of his door and go inside, hopefully he's still awake.

"Master! Master Fu!! Are you still up?"

"Yes, Cat. What brings you back here?"

"We have a major problem!"

"Well, tell me!"

"Hawkmoth has taken a civilian hostage!"

"What do you mean?! Why would he do that!?" He looks shocked, and I'm dreading telling him this.

"Ok, so it's a bit of a long story, but here goes. So like a month ago this girl- y/n- was akumatized, but it was dark so I walked her home since Ladybug was about to transform back. Anyway, she told me she really admired me, so the next day I went to her house to thank her, and I've basically been going to see her ever since, and I maybe, possibly, started to crush on her, and so the other day I was akumatized because of something Ladybug had said, and then apparently y/n is the one who helped me, by um, kissing me. So now I guess Hawkmoth knows I like her, and I think he took her as hostage."

I tried to quickly say it, but I didn't want to rush where he couldn't understand me, so now he's just sitting there with a shocked face.

"First of all, that was very dangerous! As you can now see the whole reason why you shouldn't have done that!"

"I know, I know, but-"

"No buts! Now a civilian is in danger, and so are you! Second, you were akumatized?! And Ladybug let a civilian help?!"

"Uh, yeah, but it's ok, I'm fine now, and Ladybug and I talked it out, and we're ok."

"And last, do you know this girl as Adrien?"

"No. Just as Cat."

"Ohh, boy."

He starts rubbing his hand across his eyes, and I can tell he's thinking of all the ways to lecture me.

"So how do I get y/n back? What do we do?"

"Well, we need Ladybug first. Wayzz, come here please."

"Yes, Master?" Wayzz says as he floats over.

"Go find Ladybug and tell her we have a problem."

"Ok." He flies out the window, and heads off.

"So are we gonna get Rena Rouge and Carapace? And um, Viperon? He did well. Oh, and should we use Chloe? Or give her miraculous to someone else?"

"If you are to defeat Hawkmoth and get your friend back then yes to the first three, you need all the help you can get, as for Chloe, I don't know. It isn't very safe."

"You're right, I guess. Hopefully she won't be too upset. Oh, and could I get a miraculous for y/n too? She's really good at fighting and could help us!"

"You want a miraculous for the girl who put us in this mess?"

"Um. Yeah?"

"Do you trust her?"

"Yes, of course!" I immediately reply, before I remember I'm not supposed to be trusting her, since she let her friend find out about us.

But she really did seem sincere with her reason, so I guess it's ok, I do still trust her.

"Fine. But as you know she cannot keep it."

"Right, she'll understand."

"Ok. Let's pick one."

He gets up and goes to the hidden Miraculous box, and puts in the code.

After retrieving the box he comes back to the mat and sits down.

"Adrien Agreste, pick an ally you can trust to fight alongside you on this mission. Choose wisely, such powers are meant to serve the greater good, and must never get into the wrong hands. Once the mission is over you must return the miraculous to me."

This is exciting, I've never been able to hand out a miraculous before.

I reach out, my hand lingering on a few until I pick up a pair of glasses.

"This is the horse right? Teleportation?"

"Yes."

"Do I need to know exactly where Hawkmoth's lair is, or could I just use this and get there?"

"You only need a general idea of where Hawkmoth could be, and the miraculous can do the rest."

"Good. Now we just have to wait for Ladybug, then we can start."

"What are we starting?" A voice behind me asks.

I turn around and see Ladybug and Wayzz, so I beckon them over.

"Did you listen to my message?" I ask her.

"Yeah, I can't believe he actually did it."

"Me either, but I'm almost positive that's what happened."

"Wow. So, what's our plan?"

"First you gotta get Rena Rouge, Carapace and Viperon."

"K. Then what?"

"Then, we have to use the horse miraculous to get into Hawkmoth's lair, and I'll give that to y/n, so we'll have extra help."

"Alright. Let's get this plan in motion." She says.

"You two be careful! You never know what Hawkmoth might have up his sleeve!" Master Fu reminds us.

"Don't worry Master. We'll be ok." I say.

"You better. Here, fox, turtle and snake. Now go, there's no time to waste, the girl is in grave danger with him!"

Ladybug takes the miraculouses and quickly runs away, while I put on the glasses.

The glowing that emits from them soon turn into the little brown and white kwami.

"Hello, Cat Noir. I'm Kaalki."

"Hi Kaalki, will you help me with this very important mission?"

I've had a rundown of all the kwamis, so I know she's somewhat sassy and likes to be important.

"Of course. You just need to merge me and Plagg. Oh, and remember, to use my special power you must say 'Voyage'."

"Right. Plagg, Kaalki, unify!" I say, and feel my costume change.

My cat ears turn longer and thinner, but stay black, and I now have a horseshoe attached to my belt, and my boots are brown instead of black.

My mask now has white around the edges, and my gloves are mostly brown, but with white tips.

"Be careful Adrien, merging miraculous is very dangerous!"

"I know Master, I'll be ok."

"Good luck. Now, before you go meet with Ladybug, take this, it's Kaalki's favorite food." He says as he hands me an apple.

"Thank you. We'll be back soon. And hopefully, we'll have the butterfly and peacock miraculouses when we return!"

"I hope you do."

After waving to him I run out the door, then jump to the roofs and start scanning for the rest of my team.

I finally see the four heros heading in my direction, and we meet in the middle.

"Cat, is that you?" Ladybug asks.

"Of course. But now I'm Horse Noir."

"Yeah yeah, so what do we do?"

"Well, I planned to use Kaalki's power to get to Hawkmoth, but do we know where he could be?"

"Not definitely. But we could always try out our theory?" Ladybug suggests.

"Ok guys, I'm confused. What all is happening?" Rena says.

"Oh right, so Hawkmoth has taken a civilian as extreme measures, and now we have to go rescue her and hopefully defeat him." I quickly run through it for them.

"Wow, why would he just take a civilian like that?!"

"Because he knows we, me specifically, will do anything to get her back." I guess I'm gonna have to tell everyone how much I've screwed up.

"Oh. You like this girl or what?" Rena is really prying, why can't she just help us on the mission?

"Yeah, I do. Now if we can just figure out some way to track down Hawkmoth... That's it!"

"What's it?" All three ask in unison.

"I know how to find him!"

"How?!" Ladybug exclaims.

I don't answer, but take out my staff.

I go to the function that lets me track my partners, or more specifically, any active miraculous.

I see the flashing butterfly and feel my heart sink, but hope also rises at the same time.

The flashing leaves no doubt in my mind that Hawkmoth is my father, because it's right in my house.
