Secret's Out

You were standing on your balcony, looking at the Eiffel Tower, all lit up in the darkness, when you heard the familiar sound of someone landing behind you.

"Hey Kitty," You say without turning.

"I'm not Cat Noir."

You quickly turn around in fear, but relax to see that it's only Ladybug.

"Oh, sorry, I just didn't expect anyone else. So um... What exactly are you doing here?" You ask.

"Well, I was on patrol, or really just trying to clear my head, when I saw you, and thought I'd stop by." She says, which confuses you, but you go along.

"Ok, uh, any particular reason?"

"I thought you might be able to relate to my problem."

"And what's that?"

She walks over, leaning against the railing with you and starts talking.

"How did you feel when Cat Noir said he liked someone else?"

"What do you mean? When he was talking about you?"

"No, remember how he was akumatized, and you told me that he'd told you he liked me and someone else?"

"Oh, yeah. I guess I forgot about that."

"Mmhmm, so how did you get over that?"

"Well, I just stayed friends with him, and tried to be supportive, until he told me that the 'someone else' was actually me."

"Right, you ended up with him."

"Uhm, yeah?" You say, still wondering where she's going with this.

"You see, I told my crush I liked him today, but he told me he has a girlfriend. I thought you might understand."

"Oh. It's not exactly the same situation, since Cat never told me he had a girlfriend, just someone he liked."

"I know, I just hoped you could tell me how to handle it."

"Well uh, I didn't really handle it all that good. I cried a few times, to be honest."

"I have too. And he only told me today!" She says, laughing dryly.

"If it's alright for me to ask, who is your crush?"

"It's fine, I guess. He's famous, and there are plenty of people who like him. His name is Adrien. Adrien Agreste."

You can feel your eyes widen, and you almost feel bad, since in a way you've taken away two of her crushes.

"Ohh. Well, I mean, a famous guy like him is sure to have a girlfriend right?"

"Yeah, but he'd never said anything."

"Do you know him? Like as a civilian?"

"Yep."

"Huh. Isn't there anybody else you like?" You hope to help her out, considering you're sort of the reason she doesn't have a chance with him.

"There's this one boy I know, I think he likes me too, honestly."

"Then there you go! If you like him, and he likes you, just go for it! Maybe you could ask him out sometime."

"I guess you're right."

"Sure I am! Good luck!"

"Thanks. I guess I'll be going, I think I see Cat." She says, squinting at a figure leaping through the darkness.

"You're welcome. Bye."

"Bye, thanks again."

"Yep." You say, and she takes out her yo-yo and swings away.

You shake your head, a bit weirded out that she came to you, of all people.

After all, the last few times you'd been around she definitely didn't seem to have any type of friendliness towards you.

You can't think about that much longer, as Cat Noir really does drop down behind you this time.

"Hello, my Angel." He says, wrapping his arms around you from behind.

You lean your head back against his chest and say, "Hello, my Kitty."

He smiles, and presses his lips to your forehead.

You grin at him, before turning around in his arms and putting your own around him.

"So what was Ladybug doing here? I saw her leaving." He asks.

"She was wanting advice."

"Oh? What about?"

"Boys." You say teasingly.

"For real?" He asks again, laughing slightly.

"Yep. Turns out her crush has a girlfriend."

"Yikes. That's too bad. But why did she want advice from you?"

"Well, because someone decided it would be a good idea to talk to me about how they like someone, when I had a crush on them."

"Hey, in my defense, I didn't know! It was also somewhat a way to help me figure out if you liked me."

"Yeah yeah, I'm just glad it all worked out."

"Me too." He says, leaning in to kiss you, but on the lips this time.

"So did she tell you who her crush was?"

"Now, haven't you ever heard about curiosity killing the cat?" You say, as it's probably not allowed for him to know, considering he could find out her identity.

"Yes, but I also heard satisfaction brought it back." He replies slyly.

"And what makes you think the answer will satisfy you?"

"Well, I did spend like, a year wondering. I'd just like to know, for old times sake."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Not like that, you know that I'm purrfectly happy with you. I have absolutely no type of romantic feelings for Ladybug."

"You better not!" You warn him teasingly."

"As if she could even compare to this angel here!" He says, sweeping you into his arms, bridle style.

You squeal in laughter, as he spins around a few times, before coming to land on your lounge chair.

Still holding you, he lays down, with your legs beside him, but most of your upper half on his chest.

You feel his tail wrap around one of your legs, and he arranges his arms comfortably around you.

"Y/n, you know I love you, more than I ever did Ladybug, right?" He says softly.

"I do now."

"Good."

You smile against him, and rest your head in the crook of his neck.

"And you know that I would never ever cheat on you or anything like that, right?"

"Right. And I wouldn't cheat on you."

"I know. I just wanted you to be sure before I told you something."

"What?"

"A girl in my class told me she has a crush on me. As Adrien, I mean."

Once again, you feel your eyes widen to saucers, as you realize it was probably Ladybug.

"We'd been working together on a school project, I was at her house, and needed a pencil sharpener, she told me there was one in a drawer, but when I looked it was pilled full of pictures of me."

That sounds familiar. You think, as you remember going for your dress and Marinette having all the pictures of Adrien.

As you think about it, you realize how similar she and Ladybug look.

Same hair and eyes, skin tone.

Even the same hairstyle.

You're almost sure it's the same person, but you doubt whether or not it'd be ok to say so.

"That's a bit creepy." You finally say, as you'd thought upon first seeing her room.

"Yeah, I thought so too. I asked if she had a crush on me, she said yes, so I told her I have a girlfriend. Thankfully we finished our project, so it won't be too bad tomorrow, and we turn it in Friday."

"Uh-huh. That's good."

"You seem like your mind is elsewhere, what's up?" He notices.

"Oh, um, it's nothing!"

"Y/n. Are you alright?" He asks, sitting you both up, and turning you to face him.

"Yeah, I'm fine." You say truthfully, as there's nothing physically wrong.

"You can tell me if there's a problem, you know."

"Of course, I know that. I promise I'm alright."

"You do realize I can tell when you're not being entirely truthful, right?"

"But I am being truthful! There is nothing wrong with me!"

"If not you, then somebody. Is it your family? Are they ok?"

"They're fine!"

You really wish he would just drop it, though you appreciate his concern.

As far as you can tell with the mask, his brows furrow, and he seems to be thinking, before his expression suddenly changes to a smirk.

He gets about an inch away from your face, making you feel your cheeks getting hotter, and you get flustered.

"W-what are you doing?"

"Just admiring your beauty."

"Thanks?"

"You are quite welcome." He says with a wink, which could almost make you melt.

He puts a hand on your knee, and leans in, catching your lips.

You return the kiss, still feeling extremely flustered.

He pulls away, before he starts to nuzzle your cheek with his nose.

"Now.... What's wrong, Angel?" He asks.

"I think I know who Ladybug is." You whisper without thinking.

But after it's said, you wish you could undo it, as you finally realize what exactly he was doing, when he pulls away suddenly.

"What?! How?!"

"I can't tell you! Isn't that against Superhero laws and whatnot?!"

"Well, yes, but you shouldn't know either!"

"It's not my fault she came here and told me what she thought was totally fine!"

"What's that mean?"

"I really shouldn't tell you."

"Come on, y/n. Hawkmoth is gone, so it won't be so bad!"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, besides, you shouldn't know any more than I should." He points out.

"True. Ok, first tell me what girl had a crush on you, that told you today."

"It was Marinette, the one who made your dress. What's that got to do with anything?"

"Well, because Ladybug said she confessed to her crush today, and he had a girlfriend."

"So? Tons of guys have a girlfriend!"

"Yes, but there's only one Adrien Agreste who does."

"Ohhh. Wait, what?! The guy she had a crush on all this time was ME?!"

"Looks like."

"Wow. She turned down me, for me."

"Though now I'm glad! Because if she hadn't then we might not have gotten together, and that sounds pawsitively catastrophic!"

You giggle, as he continues talking.

"So you think Marinette is Ladybug? Now that I really think about it, it's pretty obvious. They have like, all the same features. Same hair, eyes, skin color. How did I not notice?!"

"You've said you're not good at seeing past a mask." You remind him.

"Guess not. So now we just have to be careful to not let anything slip. Us two is ok knowing, as long as we don't tell."

"Right. I can't believe I know who both supers are!"

"You sure are a good detective!"

"Guess I am." You say, laughing.
