Pillow Fight

It had taken a good while for Adrien to fall asleep again, so you didn't either.

Luckily your mother allowed you to sleep in late.

She would never say it, but she had checked in a few times during the night and early morning, and every time it had made her smile to see you and Adrien together.

Eventually you did wake up and were surprised to see Adrien hadn't woken yet.

You smile at his peaceful expression, and hope when he does awaken, at least some of the peace stays.

Returning your head to its spot on his chest, you hold your breath as he hugs you tighter and begins to stir.

"Mm. Morning, Angel." He whispers, planting his face on your head, making you giggle.

"Morning, Kitty."

"Do we need to get up?"

"If you wanna."

"Hmm, not yet."

"Fine by me."

So you lay there for a while, until Shadow comes and starts meowing at you.

"Ughhh, my Angel! Go away." Adrien mutters at him, trying to conceal you from the cat.

"He's hungry." You explain.

"So am I, you don't see me begging for pancakes!"

"Why didn't you say so, let's get something!"

"But I also don't wanna move."

"We have to eventually."

"Let's just stay here forever instead."

"While that does sound nice, I'm gonna miss food."

"Yeah, me too."

You giggle and untangle yourself to get up and feed all of the cats.

"Hey, honey. Are you guys hungry?" Your mom asks as you pass her on the way to your room.

"Yeah. Have you eaten yet?"

"No. Anything in particular you want?"

"Pancakes?"

"Sounds good to me."

You give in to Shadow's insistent meowing and follow him to his food bowl.

While he's scarfing his breakfast, you notice Plagg rummaging in Adrien's bag, probably trying to do the same.

"I should've packed more cheese." He grumbles, even though he's holding some.

"Don't worry, I got some for you."

"Ooh yay!" He flies ahead of you to the kitchen, straight into the fridge.

Too bad for you mother, he pops back out just as she was going to it.

She yells out, and backs away.

"Oh, sorry, I was just looking for cheese!"

"How did you do that?!"

"Kwamis can phase through stuff." Adrien explains, having come into the room to see what the commotion was about.

"Oh. How odd."

"Yeah. So, about that cheese?" Plagg asks, looking to you.

"It's in the drawer on the right." You direct.

"Thanks!" He phases back into the refrigerator.

Your mother's eyes widen again and she shakes her head.

"How is this real?" You hear her mutter.

Adrien must've heard it too, as he starts laughing.

"I ask myself that all the time!"

"Me too." You concur.

Now that she seems to have gotten over her fright, she looks at you and Adrien in concern.

You give a slight shake of your head, so she turn away and looks down at the pancakes sizzling on the stove.

But Adrien had to understood what she meant, as he takes a deep breath before speaking in a quiet tone.

"I'm sorry if I woke you last night."

"Oh, that's fine. I hadn't been asleep for too long, anyway."

"Still. You allow me to come and stay with you, and all I do is start yelling in the middle of the night."

You walk over and take his hand, shaking your head.

"It wasn't your fault, it was a bad memory." You whisper.

"Do you mind me asking, why you got so upset? What happened?" Your Mother asks, still concerned about him.

You try and shake your head at her, but Adrien squeezes your hand.

"It's OK. The movie we had on played this beeping sound, and it sounded like a machine in the hospital, when y/n was there. When she..." He trails off as he looks at you, unable to complete his sentence.

"Oh. Well I would've yelled to, if I'd been in your position."

"Yeah. Still though, I'm sorry."

"It's alright, really! Now, the pancakes are done!" She changes the subject.

"Yum!" You try and help her out.

Adrien gives a weak grin, and gets ready to eat.

Everyone fixes a plate and sits down.

"My mom usually does this too, on Saturdays. It's been our tradition since forever." Adrien says, and you hope he's starting to relax.

"Dang, every Saturday? I'm lucky to get them once a month!" You joke.

"You always sleep through breakfast."

"So are you saying you make these  all the time and everyone just eats them all?!"

"Maybe."

"How rude."

You smile at Adrien's laughter, hopefully he's starting to feel better.

"So when are you picking up s/n?" You ask after a while.

"Not for a few hours. You two can clean up the fort and everything."

"Aww, but we worked so hard!" You groan.

"Do you really want to deal with s/n if they find out you built a fort by yourself?"

"But I didn't do it by myself!" You wink at Adrien.

"Yeah, I got some blankets!"

"You know what I mean! Plus your father is coming back later as well, so you remember what we talking about, right?"

"Yeah, yeah, we'll clean it up." You grumble and get up.

You'd finished your pancakes, so you put the plate where it belongs and wait for Adrien as he follows your lead.

"Such a shame to tear down something so beautiful." You say, pretending to be extremely mournful as you get to work.

"Indeed. Goodbye, Fort Angel Kitty, you'll forever be the best fort!" Adrien says, saluting.

You can't help but giggle at the dramatics and continue taking blankets and putting them away.

Once there's no sign of the fort left, you make sure there's no chip crumbs or anything else.

"OK, do you have anything you brought in here? We gotta make sure my dad can't find out you were here." You ask Adrien, glancing around the room.

"I think I left it all in your room, I'll go check."

You go with him to make sure he finds everything, and when your mother calls that she's going to pick up your sibling, he asks if he should leave.

"I'm not going to tell you to get out or anything, but if you want to go it's whatever. Although, you might wanna change first." You advise, looking at his Equina pajamas.

"Right! My next modeling gig would be a pajama shoot, because everyone would want a picture of the dude wandering around in PJ's."

You giggle and leave to let him change, and you also want to find where Plagg went to sleep off his cheese.

After looking all over and not finding him, you check the fridge and find he's fallen asleep there.

You quickly get him out before he freezes, but he seems to be upset at leaving.

"Dude, you're gonna get hypothermia!"

"I'll be fine, I was just napping for a minute!"

"You've been in there for ages!"

He just groans and finds somewhere else to sleep.

You go back to your room, but you don't see Adrien in there.

You almost start to search the house again, but you get stopped from being tackled in a hug.

"Boo!" You hear a giggle from behind you.

"Boo." You repeat.

He hugs you tighter, then steps away.

"So, what now?" You ask.

"Hmm, you know what we didn't do?"

"What?"

"Pillow fight!" He yells as he grabs a pillow from your bed and throws it at you.

You immediately pick it up and smack him with it, and soon enough a full on pillow war is happening.

You deliver a hit so hard he falls onto the bed, and you take the opportunity to hit him as much as you can.

"OK, OK! I surrender!" He laughs.

"Ha! I win!"

He throws another pillow at you.

"Thought you surrendered?"

"Then don't be so gloaty!"

"Why not?"

"Because it's rude!"

"Nah."

"Yah."

"You're just upset I won."

"Am not!"

"Are too!"

He sticks his tongue out at you, so you of course return the gesture.

You laugh and flop onto the bed beside him.

"This has been so fun. Thanks for letting me come over." Adrien says, getting serious for a minute.

"Of course! Anytime!"

"I'll have to figure out a way to get everyone out of my house so you can come over sometime. I bet we could build an even bigger fort!"

"Sounds purrfect!"

"Indeed!"

He checks the clock and sees that enough time has passed and your mom will be back soon, so you make sure to gather all his things and go downstairs to find Plagg.

But instead, you find the door opening, and your father coming in.

"What's going on here?" He asks, looking from Adrien, to his bag, to you.

You're sure the lack of your mother being around and your disheveled appearances form the pillow fight don't help anything.

I know I said I probably wouldn't do any more cliffhangers, I'd just try to finish, but they're so very fun!
