Cat's POV

When y/n stepped out from behind the pipe Ladybug went to, I almost take control back from Hawkmoth.

I know that there's no way I'm letting him make me hurt her.

But I can't let him know how much I care about y/n, or he'll do something.

I don't know what, but something.

He must've realized I was coming to, because the same pain overwhelms me again.

I think I say something about Ladybug being a wimp, and sending y/n, and that I don't know why I liked her, and then asking y/n what she could do.

"Um. This." I'm vaguely aware she says it, and then grabs my bell and shoulder.

The akuma tells me to push her away, but I can't.

I feel something warm on my lips, and notice the bell isn't being pulled away.

The pain roars inside, but only for a moment, as I realize what's happening and a warm feeling overtakes the pain.

Y/n is kissing me.

Does that mean she likes me, or is she just doing it to distract me?

I don't know, but kiss back.

She takes the bell, but it doesn't matter anymore.

Hawkmoth's connection has been broken, and love has taken over.

I feel her pull away, but then the magic ladybugs swoop past, making me distorted and forget what has happened in the past hour.

"Kitty! I missed you!" Y/n says loudly, while hugging me.

Where did she come from?

And how did I get on this roof?

"Where was I?" I say as I hug her back.

"Um, you were, um-" Y/n starts, but is interrupted by Ladybug.

"Uh, Cat? I just wanted to say I'm sorry for what I said, I never meant it. I think something is wrong with my miraculous, I'll have to look into it. I can't talk now, but I'll explain more later. Meet me tomorrow at our usual time?"

"Ok. See you." I'm still a little upset with her, not even that she rejected me, just that she was so rude.

"Bye guys, and y/n, thanks for the help!"

Y/n smiles and says "My pleasure."

I'm still confused, what happened?

"What help? What did you do? I'm still... Oohh wait! Wait wait wait! I was akumatized! Oh my gosh, y/n! I didn't hurt you or anything did I?!"

I really hope I didn't hurt her, I'm sure I probably did something to Ladybug, but she's used to taking hits and she has the miraculous to protect her.

Y/n smiles and says, "No, you didn't do anything to me. Kicked Ladybug a couple times though."

I'm glad I didn't hurt y/n, but feel bad for kicking Ladybug.

"Good. Not about kicking Ladybug, about not hurting you, I mean."

"I know what you meant," Y/n says while laughing.

"Now. Come inside and tell me what happened." She says and pulls on my hand.

"Um, ok..." I don't know what I'll say to her, I wish I knew if she likes me, then I wouldn't have any problem.

I pick y/n up and jump to her balcony, then we go inside and sit on her bed.

"Ok, so, I took your advice and told Ladybug I liked her, or at least, I tried to, until she told me to go tell my feelings to um, the other girl I mentioned, that she knows I like the other girl, and I might as well tell Hawkmoth I like the other girl, and I didn't deserve my miraculous, and then she just left!"

I feel my eyes water, I still don't understand why she said I shouldn't have a miraculous, just because I'm friends with a civilian.

Y/n sits there a minute, but then hugs me and says, "Ladybug is wrong. You deserve your miraculous just as much, or more, than she does! I don't even know why she's upset that you like her, you're awesome!"

I smile and hug her tightly.

She's always thought I could handle this superhero thing, at least somebody does.

"Thank you y/n, you've always believed in me. I love you."

Wait, WHAT!? What did I just say?? I actually just said that, now we're going to be so awkward and weird and I messed everything up!

My head feels like it's spinning, and my thoughts are racing.

"Um, I um, I mean, uh!" I try to recover, while y/n laughs.

"I love you too, ya dork." She says.

Really? But does she mean love me as a friend, or something else?

"Like as friends?"

"Well, yes." She replies, but I'm still unsure.

She said it as if suggesting friends, but also something more.

"Um, yeah. That's what I meant. Friends." I try to play it off, but I'm a little disappointed.

I do want her to like me.

"Great. Well, I guess you can ask the other girl out now?" She says, and I wonder if there's actually a hint of sadness, or if I'm imagining it.

How am I supposed to explain that the 'other girl' is actually y/n?

I don't think I can do it, I can't tell her.

Ugh! Pull it together, Agreste! I think, cursing my inability to just ask.

Y/n looks somewhat confused, since I'm just sitting there, staring into space

"Uh, yeah. Right. I'll ask her soon."

Great, now she really thinks I don't like her.

If she thought I did in the first place, anyway.

She probably thinks I'm just a player who goes and flirts with every girl I see.

That's what Ladybug always thought.

"Well uh, good luck."

So she definitely doesn't know I mean her.

"Erm, thanks."

"Yeah. Well, I hope she says yes. She'd be crazy not to." She gives a seemingly sad smile.

What does that mean?

Does she like me?

"Uh thanks. I'll let you know what happens."

"Cool. I hope things will work out great."

"Me too."

Just in a different way than she expects.

"Well uh, I guess I should go home and get some sleep. It's late."

"Er yeah, probably."

I smile somewhat awkwardly and stand up, unable to take this anymore.

I wish I wasn't so chicken about this, I never had a problem telling my feelings to Ladybug.

"Bye Cat, I'll see you later."

"Bye y/n, see ya."

I look back and wave, and she does the same.

I jump off the balcony and go home, detransforming when I land on the floor.

Plagg flies up and slaps me before quickly rushing to his stash of cheese and wolfing some down.

"Hey, what was that for?!" For such a tiny thing, he can slap hard.

"That was for letting yourself get akumatized!"

"I didn't want to! I tried to fight it!"

He sighs and says, "I know kid. You fought it hard."

"I'm sorry, Plagg. I won't let it happen again!"

"Yeah, yeah. Also, stop staying out so late! I could have withered away I was without cheese for so long!"

"Plagg, we've been out longer than this before."

"Well yeah, but those times you weren't akumatized! Akumas make me ever more tired than usual!"

"Sorry, Plagg. I'll get you extra smelly cheese to make up for it, ok?"

"Great! Also, next time, don't get all mushy again! It's gross!"

"Yeaahh, I'm the gross one. And I didn't get all mushy."

"You are, and did. Also, I don't do anything gross!"

"Plagg, you literally stuff cheese down your throat all day. And smell dirty socks. That's nasty!"

"Is not! At least I don't go around kissing left and right!"

"What are you talking about? I don't do that."

"You've kissed Ladybug twice before, and y/n, tonight!"

"What?!"

"Come on, Adrien! You can hear! I said-" I cut him off before he can repeat himself.

"I heard you, I mean, I didn't kiss y/n, tonight!"

"Yeah you did."

"WHEN?!"

"While you were akumatized. That's how she defeated you."

"You're making that up, right?"

"No, why would I make up a story about you kissing someone?"

Why do I never remember these things?

I actually kissed y/n?

I think back as hard as I can, and vaguely remember.

She grabbed my bell, and kissed me.

But I don't know if she just did that as a distraction, or if she meant something with it.

I hope she meant something from it.

That would mean she likes me, and it wouldn't be so hard for me to ask her out then.

I think about it as I get in bed, and while I go to sleep.

The only dreams I have are full of akumas, y/n, and kisses.
