Family Dinner

Adrien's POV

I'm so nervous, what if y/n's family doesn't like me?

And what if I don't like them?

What if they think I'm not good enough for her?

I think that.

What if they try to make us break up?

We just got together!

I can't leave her.

Being with y/n has been the best time of my life.

I've always wanted to love someone the way I do her.

Thinking I loved Ladybug like that was totally wrong on my part.

I thought she would eventually fall for me, but now I know we were just meant to be friends.

It wouldn't have worked out anyway, she would never reveal herself.

And I'm not going to force anything.

I check the time, as I've been doing all evening.

5:35.

I quickly get a fresh pair of clothes and take a shower.

When I get out, ten minutes have gone bye.

I should get going, y/n said 6ish.

Wouldn't want to be late.

I give Plagg some cheese, and tell him to hide in my shirt pocket.

Once we're ready, I go downstairs.

Felix is there, reading some magazine.

"Where you going?" He asks.

"To get dinner. I want something different." It's not entirely a lie.

"What?"

"Not sure yet." Also, not a lie.

I have no idea what we're eating.

"Have fun then."

"I'll try."

I doubt this'll be much fun, but here goes.

Before I transform, I go into a flower shop and get a single red flower.

I've never brought y/n a flower before, I think she prefers candies.

But maybe this'll help win over her parents?

I make my way to her house, almost jumping to the balcony, just out of habit, before remembering the front door is probably a better option this time.

I knock, the moment of truth.

==============================

You hear the knock, and immediately bite your lip in worry.

"I'll get it!" You announce, and quickly walk over.

You open it to find Cat Noir standing there awkwardly, holding a flower.

"Hey Ki-at." You quickly catch yourself.

"Hi, y/n. Um, this is for you!" He smiles awkwardly and hands you the flower.

"Oh, uh, thanks!" You take it and smile.

"No purroblem!" He says and winks, obviously trying to make you relax a bit.

It works, for a second.

"So. You're the one who wants to date my daughter." Your father says, walking up.

"Uh, yes sir." Cat answers.

"Come in, please." Your mother comes in, seemingly trying to lighten the mood.

"Ok, thank you, ma'am."

"Of course, such good manners you have!"

"Thank you again, ma'am."

She starts toward the door, husband following.

"Let's get this over with." You whisper to Cat.

"Just hope it goes smoothly." He whispers back.

You walk into the dining room together, put the flower in a cup with water, and go to the table where your little sibling is waiting.

"Wow! It's really Cat Noir!" She/he exclaims.

He chuckles and says, "Yep! And who are you?"

"I'm s/n!"

"Nice to meet you, s/n."

S/n giggles, and your mom comes in holding a dish.

"I hope you like ratatouille." She tells Cat.

"Oh yes!"

She sets it down on the table, in between the already placed plates and silverware.

"Go ahead, sit down."

You do as she says, with Cat next to you, across from your parents.

After saying the blessing (If your family does that.) everyone starts spooning out a serving.

After taking a bite Cat says "Wow, Mrs. L/n! This is delicious!"

"Thank you." She replies, smiling.

You notice your father seem to frown slightly.

He probably thinks Cat's just trying to be a kiss-up. You think and furrow your eyebrows.

"So, Cat Noir. We don't know anything about you. How old are you, for starters." Your dad asks.

"I'm 16, sir."

"That's pretty young to be a superhero. But, a good age for y/n."

"Yeah, I know I'm young, but I hope I do well."

"You do!! I've seen you on TV and for real!" S/n jumps in.

Cat smiles and thanks her/him.

"And what do you do for fun, Cat?" Your mother asks.

"Well, I like to fence, play basketball, video games, and I play piano."

"You have lots of hobbies." She remarks.

"Yeah, my dad wants me to have lots of extra credit stuff, but I like doing most of it."

"And how are you doing in school?" Your dad asks.

"Pretty good, I usually get all A's."

"Good. Do you like school?"

"Yes, actually. Well, most of the time. Some classmates aren't the best, but I try to be nice anyway."

"Uh-huh. And how long have you known y/n?"

"Gosh, how long has it been?" Cat wonders aloud, looking to you.

"I don't remember, exactly. A couple months or so."

"Yeah."

"How exactly did you meet?" Your dad presses on.

"I was akumatized, remember? Cat walked me home. And we just started talking whenever we saw each other." You quickly answer, thinking it's probably best if they don't know Cat visits almost every night.

They would definitely get the wrong idea, and ban him or something.

"Oh right. I guess we should thank you for that, huh? Saving our daughter."

"I was more than happy to do it. It's turned out better than I could've expected." Cat replies, and you notice the smallest blush across his cheeks.

He reaches and squeezes your hand from under the table, which you return.

"Hmm. And just how long have you been 'together'?" He asks, emphasizing together.

"Not that long, really. What? A week?" You ask, looking over at Cat.

"I think so, but it feels like it's been longer." He says, laughing slightly.

"And when exactly did you plan on telling us?" Your dad asks, looking to you.

"I just hadn't found the right words yet. But thanks to someone I didn't have to." You say quickly shooting a glare to your sibling.

"Anyway, how long, exactly do you think this will go on?" Your father asks, gesturing to you and Cat.

"Dad!" You hiss.

"Maybe that's a little far, d/n..." (Dad's name) your mother interrupts.

"What, I want to know how committed he is!" He says, raising his voice slightly, then looking to Cat expectantly.

"Well sir, I hadn't really thought about it, but forever, if that's possible." Cat says, looking sheepish.

You blush, but your dad snorts.

"Ha! You are much to young to be saying things about forever."

"With all due respect, sir, I wouldn't get into a relationship if I didn't at least see it going on for years. I don't know about y/n, but I'm happier than I've ever been." He declares.

"I feel the same way." You whisper back to him, smiling.

He returns it, then looks back to your parents.

Your mother looks pleased with the response, but your dad, not so much.

"And how do I know you really mean that? For all we know, you could have a different girlfriend in your civilian life!"

"I assure you sir, I do not. I would never do something so despicable."

You believe him, as Ladybug told you.

When she flirted with him, he turned her down, then left.

"Y/n, has he ever done anything to prove that?" Your father asks.

"Yes, actually. Ladybug tried to flirt with him, but he tried to stop her, and when she didn't stop, he left."

"Did he just tell you that, or did you see it?"

"Ladybug herself came and apologized for it." You say, feeling smug.

"He could know her identity, and be dating her that way, and had her do that."

"Don't you think you're jumping to conclusions?" Your mom says, trying to calm her husband.

"I'm just trying to make sure y/n won't be getting her heart broken! Besides, how can we really trust this guy if we don't even know who he is?!"

"Dad! It's a secret identity for a reason! We could all be in danger if we know!"

"Why? Hawkmoth is gone, isn't he?"

"Yes, sir. He has been imprisoned." Cat confirms.

"Y/n, do you know who he is?" Your mom asks.

"No, I wouldn't let him tell me."

"Why not?" Your dad demands.

"I wanted to find out myself."

"Well I don't, and I also don't think I can trust him if I don't know who he is!"

"Dad, he can't just tell us all!"

"If I can't know who my daughter is dating, she can't date him!"

"Dad! You're being unfair!" You protest.

"No, y/n. He's right. You all deserve to know. Claws in."

You gasp, as a green flash engulfs him, and Cat Noir is no longer sitting there, but Adrien Agreste.

"Kid, you are gonna be in so much trouble." Plagg scolds.

"I know, but I had to!" Adrien insists.

"I knew it!" You exclaim.

"Really? You figured it out?"

"Mostly. I was pretty sure."

"Nice detective work, Sherlock!"

"Why thank you." You say, laughing.

"Hey, y/n, you got any cheese here?" Plagg asks, flying in front of you.

"Yeah, I guess."

"Grea-AAH!" He screeches, and he's grabbed from behind.

"Aww!! A tiny kitty!" S/n says.

"Unhand me, tiny child!" Plagg protests.

"Well, I have to say. I was not expecting that." Your dad says, finally recovering from his initial shock.

"I wasn't either, but sir, I really do care about y/n! I hope this shows some of how much."

"It shows plenty. I can tell you really are serious about my daughter. You both have my blessing."

"Thank you sir!"

Your father just nods, but your mother looks at Adrien very quizzically.

"Hey, aren't you that famous model boy?"

"Uh, yes ma'am. My father is a fashion designer. Er, was, I should say."

"That's right! That's the reason I kinda hoped you wasn't Adrien!" You quickly realize.

"What? The fact that my father is actually the maniac that terrorized Paris, and sent monsters to attack me?"

"Yeah. How are you?! After all that? And your mom!"

"I'm doing ok, and mom is still the same."

"What's this about your mother?" Your own mom interrupts.

"Oh, um, my mother is in a strange comatose state, and doctors have no idea how to help her."

"That's awful!" Your mother sympathizes.

"You know what else is awful?! Being squashed to death!" Plagg gasps out, still being cuddled by s/n."

"S/n! Let go of that... thing!" Your father says.

They begrudgingly do, and Plagg takes a dramatic gasp.

"I'm not a thing. I'm a kwami. I'm what gives Adrien here his powers. Without me, there'd be no Cat Noir."

"Well, it's nice to meet you, uh, kwami?" Your mom says

"Name's Plagg. You got any cheese?"

"Plagg! Manners!" Adrien says.

"Sorry about him, he has a bit of an addiction!"

"I do not!" Plagg insists.

"Either way, yes, we have cheese. Any preferences?" You ask.

"Camembert!!"

"We do have some of that, actually."
Your mom says, and goes to get it.

"Ooh, kid, you should come here more often!"

Adrien laughs, and thanks your mom as she brings the cheese back.

"Oh thank you!" Plagg says as he digs in.

"You are quite welcome."
