Class
Adrien's POV
At school the next day, most of the class is crowded around Alya, who has been showing the same pictures over and over again.
Apparently her and Nino were out at the fair together as well as me and y/n, and they saw us.
And decided to mercilessly take photos of us on the rides, walking around, and generally being a normal couple.
I guess it is surprising for a superhero to just be walking around the fair, but it shouldn't be, since the fact that said superhero has a girlfriend has gotten out.
Yes, it's all because I'm famous, I know that, but even though I have magical superpowers that doesn't make me any less human.
I think.
The whole purring really throws me off on that idea.
Though I only purr as Cat Noir, never Adrien.
But, I haven't really been in the same situations.
I'm usually transformed when I'm with y/n, and I don't just go around cuddling things.
Chloe comes into the classroom, looks at the crowd around Alya, and scoffs.
"What are you losers doing? Looking at that silly blog of hers?"
"Yeah, Chloe. It's some very interesting pictures about Cat Noir and his girlfriend." Alya says smugly.
Chloe scoffs again, and I know what she's about to say.
"Ugh! That peasant! Did you know it's the same loser that almost ran me over here at the school?! And yet Cat Noir was sticking up for her!"
I try to ignore it, so I don't reveal my identity, but I can't just let her talk about y/n like that.
"Chloe, you really shouldn't call people 'peasants' and 'losers'." I say, trying to keep the annoyance out of my voice.
"Oh Adrikins, don't be silly! You know we're better than them!"
"No we're not. Just because some people have more money than others, or their father is a mayor, it doesn't mean they are better than people who have less money, or a nonpolitical parent."
She doesn't reply after that, just rolls her eyes and looks ahead.
"Go Adrien! You told her!" I hear Alya say from behind me.
I turn and shrug, not really wanting to be admired for telling off a friend.
"So, you wanna come see the pictures?" She asks, waving her phone.
"No thanks, I've already seen them."
More like lived them. I think to myself.
"Oh right, you follow my Ladyblog don't you?"
"Yeah, of course."
"Because you're a really big Ladybug fan?"
"I mean, I like her and all, but I'm interested in all the supers, plus I want to support you."
"Huh. I mean, thanks and all, but I'd always thought you were a huge Ladybug fan."
"She's great, yes, I just wouldn't say she's my favorite."
"Really? Who is then?"
"Um, Equina." I say sheepishly.
"Why her? I know she was there with the whole Hawkmoth ordeal, but isn't that all?"
Hopefully it's alright for me to say this.
"Not exactly, she also came to help get my mother to the hospital. That's why I like her so much, she helped me and my mom."
At least I have a good reason, because it's not like I can just list everything I love about her, that would definitely give away her identity.
Plus it would take days.
"Oh wow! What can you tell me about her?!" Alya immediately wants to know everything.
I bet you would like to know everything. But of course I can't say that, or actually tell her everything.
"Um, her power is transportation, she is horse themed, and seemed really nice." I say, trying to disclose as little as possible.
"We already knew that! Tell us more!"
"Like what?"
Lucky for me, the bell rings, signaling it's time to take our seats.
"We're not finished, Adrien!"
I turn back around, facing Miss Bustier as she comes in.
"Good morning class." She says.
"Good morning, Miss Bustier!" We reply.
"I hope each of you have had time to go over the story."
I almost forgot about that, I have to go to Marinette's after school to work on it.
Hopefully getting some croissants as well as a good grade.
Miss Bustier talks mostly about the book for much of the class, and when the bell rings at the end she reminds us to work with our partners later.
I head to the next class, hoping to outrun Alya so she can't corner me with questions.
Managing to time it correctly, she's not able to, but she might be getting suspicious as to why I'm not letting her know.
I guess I should just let her ask her questions, and be really careful about answering.
Otherwise she might figure out something's up with me and Equina.
Technically there is, but she doesn't need to know that.
So at lunch I sit with the usual trio, instead of going out like I'd originally planned.
Now that I don't have to go home to eat, like my father usually had me do, I like staying in the cafeteria, and talking to my friends.
Today though, may be different.
"Ok, Adrien. Why have you been avoiding me?" Alya immediately asks when I sit.
"I wasn't avoiding you. I just didn't want to be late for class."
"Yeah right, half the time you're as late as Marinette!" Alya says, while Marinette protests.
She's right, but I was only late because of akumas.
I don't know the reason for Marinette though.
"Ok, yes, but usually I was hiding from an akuma or something, and I want to better my schedule!" I try to excuse myself.
"I guess that makes sense. But now you have plenty of time! So, tell me about Equina!"
"There really isn't much I can tell you, she wasn't with us that long, and she didn't exactly give me her life story!"
It's true, in a way.
Equina wasn't with me long nor did Equina tell me her life story.
That was y/n.
"But you have to know more than her basic powers, looks, and whether she acted like Queen Bee or a nicer hero!"
Laughing, I shrug.
"I know that she was going to stay to hear about my mother, but had to leave because it would take too long."
"Ok, but that's just a nice thing, anybody would do that."
"Yeah, that's why I said she was nice!"
"Can't you tell me a little more?" Alya presses.
"She was pretty."
"Is that why she's your favorite? You thought she was pretty? Ugh, boys."
"No, Alya, she's my favorite because she was able to get my mother to a hospital, where she'll hopefully be able to come back to me!" I snap, then immediately regret it, seeing the looks on everyone's faces.
"Oh, um, right. I'm sorry, Adrien."
"It's ok. I'm sorry I snapped."
"No no, that's ok. I should've known."
"You couldn't have."
The rest of the meal is eaten in relative silence, and when the bell rings I head for my next class with Marinette.
She doesn't say anything, though we walk together.
But when I sit down, my seat partner Lila sure does.
"So, you like Equina?" She asks.
"Yes." I reply.
"You probably didn't know this, but she and I are really good friends."
"You know I don't believe you, Lila."
"Why not?"
"Because, you're a liar."
"I am not! I really do know her!"
"Ok then, what's her eye color?"
"Oh, it's um, uh-"
"If you really knew her, you would know. So, you're lying."
"Well do YOU know?!"
"Yes. It's e/c." (Your eye color)
"I knew that!"
"Ok, Lila."
The bell rings again, and the teacher walks in, silencing any further conversation.
