Serena sat in the seats. Miette was beside her, cheering," Way to go Paul!" The honey blond turned to see Grace sitting in front of her. She called," Hey,mom! What do you think happened?"

The Rhyhorn racer turned to face her daughter,"I Am not giving any spoilers but I have to say, the outcome of the match was decided the moment Newt and Red   chose their Pokemon. Rest is what we will see."

Serena thought that what will happen when her boyfriend faces against these two in the final. Secretly, she thought, even if Calem loses, she won't be that sad but instead happy for Newt and Red. Especially Red. There is something about him that clicks a bundle of nerves. The Pikachu on his shoulder. The way he commands his pokemon. His empathy. His voice.  But Calem can't lose, he will crush them, yeah.

Some seats beside them,Ash, Neo, Gary and Paul's friends were chatting.

"Hey, June, where do you think Chandelure and Infernape went?" Drew Asked May whose Face chortled in rage,"You dare call me that again And I will kill you! And to answer you, I don't know but Knowing Ash is on his feet, anything can happen."

"Don't underestimate Neo either, he can also create a game changer along with Ash," Dawn stated while clutching Piplup. 

Goh smirked,"Look, someone is guarding Neo's pride,eh?" Everyone laughed at this. They expected To see the bluenette in a mess of blushes but Dawn stated,"Nope, Goh. I don't see Neo like that. But I am saying it on the basis of observation. Zappy knocked out an Ursaring with just an Electro ball and Iron tail. And that Ursaring dislocacted by Mamoswine's knee with just four to five hits."

"Raichu is his strongest one?" Chloe asked. Misty who just came to sit near them with Gladion and Lillie stated,"His Charizard is his real ace. Trust me. I have seen that Beast In action and I know that a couple of thunder punches from him are enough to rag my Mega Gyrados."

On the battlefield,Gary was shouting Madly,"Where is that Chandelure!? And Infernape! Damn hell seems to have swallowed them!"

Neo then commanded,"Time to end this rain dance! Candy, use Inferno !"

"Chan!" The voice was heard from above and Everyone's jaw dropped to the floor when they looked up. Candy was floating in middle of the rain clouds! Infernape clung to him by having his tail wrapped around One of Candy's arms.

"I am gonna be dead. How the hell are those two managing that. I don't think it uses Teleport. And Teleport causes a bright flash. I would have seen if that happened," Paul muttered in confusion.

The Flame atop Candy's head grew to the size of a Golem, the heat radiating from it driving the rain clouds Away. Candy didn't even need to launch the Inferno, the mere heat of it heating up the atmosphere like a drought ability , soon , there wasn't a single cloud of rain left and the sky was clear, everyone in the stadium was sweating  like crazy.

"Now,scorch them ma boy!" Neo shouted. Ash then took the follow,"Flame wheel, like a meteor!" The two boys exchanged glances and and Ash shouted,"Together! Combine!"

A gigantic, thick stream of purplish blue flames originated from Candy's head flame, rushing down with Immense speed. Infernape also jumped down, the flame on his head extending and spinning around his body, forming a wheel of flare around him. The inferno and Infernape rushed down gaining more speed and momentum due to the act of gravity.

Gary looked at Paul and said,"We gotta do, Paul get ready for real attack. Let me take this. Blastoise, hydro cannon."

Blastoise, Launched a large blue beam from each of his canons, the blue beams rushed forward while converging to join into a large blue sphere of water type energy. 

Infernape first Clashed with the Hydro canon, Pushing against it with full strength but eventually, the flames around him subsided and he slammed into the ground but soon hydro canon was vaporized by Inferno, that rushed towards Electivire and Blastoise at insane speed.

"Protect!" Paul yelled while Gary ordered," Rapid spin!"

Electivre again extended his arms and a green half dome formed around him while Blastoise retracted back into his shell and began to spin rapidly. The huge gush of purple and blue fire dawned upon the two and the two were soon engulfed in it. Paul and Gary had their mouths open ajar at this display of power. the audience awaited as the flames surrounding Blastoise and Electivire subsided. Electvire was safe in prototect but Blatoise was lying on the ground, still in his shell, which was scorched. Slowly, Blastoise came out, in a daze. Blatoise's body soon was engulfed in a blast of fire, burn damage. When the burns stopped, mega Blastoise was on his last legs. But he still had enough energy left. But one effective hit will finish him off. Gary then shouted,"Blastoise,rest for a while!"

The protect around Electivire vanished as a panting Candy came down obviously tired after carrying Infernape and using Inferno. Ash grinned through his Mask and shouted,"Infernape,mach punch!"

Infernape burst out of the ground from beneath The electric type ,fist glowing, who went flying into the air. Paul gritted his teeth, "Use Wild charge, full power!"

Electivire Was doused in golden electricity was it began a free fall towards Infernape, who had his fists ready for striking.From Afar, Ash was predicting that Wild Charge will surely overpower mach punch, which Neo saw.

Neo then commanded,"Go!Phantom force!"

A back ring formed below the wild charging Electvire, wich expanded to reveal a portal, it's infinite interior made up of purple ghost type space was visible. Soon Electivire kept rushing down and the portal swallowed him.

"WHAT!" Paul shouted as Gary continued,"WHAT THE FUCK TO DO NOW!"

Miette shouted,"Ow! No! Paul was just about to win!" Serena then turned to look at her mom,"So, what happens now?"

Grace smirked and replied,"Seems your boyfriend is gonna be given a run for his money in the finals." Serena then smiled arrogantly and snorted,"Rubbish. Nothing is there that could get past my Calem." Miette and Grace's  chortled In disgust. Miette who knew about Neo and Ash was silently thinking,"Hope Ash and his Pal give that Bastard a nice whooping. For this battle is already over and sadly Paul will lose."

Gladion looked at Neo with a newfound respect,"His Chandelue knows Phantom  force. I am damn impressed. The only other Pokemon I have seen using it is the Alolan Legendary Lunala."

Lillie also piped up,"Yup big bro. It is not a signature move but it is extremely hard to master. Not every Pokemon can control space for even opening a small portal.That too of a different dimension."

Everyone was nodding. Gladion then noticed Lillie sadly gazing at Gary who was under immense stress due to the condition. Okay, he gotta keep a close eyes on that Oak boy. May then exclaimed,"Then I guess  this match is over." 

Everybody nodded as they waited for the climax.

"Infernape, don't waste your Mach punch, round up Blastoise!"

The monkey ran towards Blastoise , its fist still glowing. Gary saw this,"Blastoise, try to counter with Power up punch!"

After being beaten. Blatoise's movement were very lousy as he swung his fist glowing with an orange light towards Infernape who just jumped up and delivered a fierce uppercut to the turtle's chin, sending Blastoise Crashing to the ground.Just then Neo shouted,"Ash, have Infernape go away from there!"

Ash didn't know what was up but he had faith in Neo, so he ordered Infernape to jump away. The fire type instantly obeyed. Just then, as Blastoise lay grunting, an identical Portal opened over him and Candy got out of it, instantly floating sideways. The portal then closed, but not before, Electivire came rushing down, being coated in thunder.

"NO! BLASTOISE!" Gary's yelles were in vain as As Electivire crahed into Blastoise. A huge explosion followed by the collision. Candy went and floated in front of Neo who grinned in Praise. The chandelure yipped Happily ,"Chan! Chan! Delure!"

When the smoke and dust cleared,Blastoise was in his base form with swirly eyes. Electivire was panting as well, clearly inches away from a Knock out. 

"Neo, let me end this," Ash whispered. Neo signaled Candy to Back off. The Chandelure obeyed and floated in his place. Paul and Ash locked eyes and the intense rivalry said one thing. Let's end this with a classic head on smash.

"Electivire! Thunder punch! Both hands!" Paul yelled. Ash gave his command,"Flame wheel!"

Electvire and Infernape both ran towards each other. The audience had their breath hitched. The electivire, had both his fists doused with electricity, joined together. While Infernape's flame on its head surrounded him to form a spinning mass around him. When flame wheel and thunder punch collided. The two Pokemon pushed against each other, neither willing to let go. For thirty Seconds, the two kept pushing until Paul's pokemon's feet began to slide behind. Soon it was evident that Electivire was losing the clash. Paul then raised his eyes to meet Ash's, one more time. His mouth that usually was in a straight line formed a barely visible smile. Appreciating The fact that Ash had earned his respect. 

Finally, Electivire was thrown back and slammed into a wall, causing a dent, Instantly knocked out.

"The referee raised his hand,"Both of Gary and Paul's Pokemon are unable to battle, therefore , Red and Newt proceed to the finals!"

Paul returned Electivire with a thanks and was shocked when he turned his head towards his opponents. Ash was trying to restrain a seemingly mad Neo from running at the Referee.

He just smirked. These two will surely beat Calem's butt badly.

Everyone in the stadium cheered loudly to praise 'Red' And 'Newt'. 

However soon, it was replaced with dead silence. 

For what they witnessed.

They witnessed Calem and Blade finishing off their opponents using only raw strength.

They witnessed Ash and Neo use a strategy to complete the power gap caused by Mega Evolution and rain dance.

Tomorrow, They will see the collision of the four most formidable Trainers of the tournament. 

But the wise guy knows:
MOTHER HISTORY  HOLDS SCARS ON HER BODY. SCARS THAT TELL US ABOUT THE PAST.

AND

THE PAST IS WITNESS THAT WHAT HAS HAPPENED EACH TIME

BRAIN AND BRAWN HAVE COLLIDED.
