The deal

Ocean

It's been two days since the whole run into someone fiasco and I still feel extremely embarrassed. Every time during the last class I avoid looking at him or acknowledging him. I can't believe he felt the need to embarrass me.
Not to mention all the true nicknames he said.
I winced slightly I heard that. They were true but they still hurt. I just wish he would have left it, after all I have never spoken before.
After all the attention had turned to me, I'd fled to the bathrooms and full on broke down. I can't deal with eyes.
I have social anxiety, and it sucks.
Back to today though, enough hating on the past.
Well there a lot in your past people should hate you for.
Ugh, honestly can't the voice in my head leave me alone of once?
I sat down in my seat, it's last class of the day. My least favourite class thanks to Mr. Playboy. We had just started to take notes and I dropped my pencil. Great. Exhaling in frustration, I pulled it closer with my foot before reaching down. And, of course, I couldn't reach. My shoulder hit the table as an attempted to grab it, this time successfully. My shoulder hurt like crazy though, and the look Mr. Playboy was giving me was not a happy look.
"Watch it pip squeak." He growled softly at me.
Instinct took over and I lowered my head in submission, wait what was next. But nothing happened, instead he went back to taking notes.
He should have hit you.
I know, I nodded before resuming my note taking. I couldn't wait for the class to end.
Once our teacher dismissed us, I made my way out the door and to the bus. To my great surprise it was already there. I ran to it quickly, managing to hop on right before the doors close.
I smiled, maybe this would change my father's opinion, if I was early.
As soon I stepped into the office, I was given a glare. "Your father wants to come to his office as soon as possible." She said in a slightly disgusted tone.
I nodded before proceeding up the stairs and into my office, where I dumped my bag.
Walking across the hall, I knocked on my father's door.
"Come in."
I opened the door slightly, slid in and closed it.
"Sit." Father pointed to the chair opposite of him.
I did as I was told, knowing something bad was to come.
"You're early." Father mused. "No matter, we have an important issue to discuss. As you are aware, our company has come to a slight problem. We are a little short on money and we need help." Father got up and paced the room. "So, I have spoken to the CEO of Woods Designs."
I nodded unsure of where this was going.
"As you know they are a very rich company and they are often working with us on projects." Father stood now resting his hands on his desk. "The company has decided that they will help us."
I nodded, knowing there was a but coming.
"But the terms and such of ''tis agreement have yet to be fully decided." Father looked at me. "We have a meeting with the current and future CEO of the company in about an hour. I want you present in conference room A. Don't be late or else." He finished sternly before turning his back to me and getting back to his work.
I quickly made my way back to my office and pulled out all the work that I had to do. I decided to start my schoolwork first as the rest was easy. I started writing my short story we had been assigned in English study's. I wrote about a young girl, age six. This young girl had just lost both her partners in a car crash and now was trying to figure out what life was like living in the foster care system.
I poured my thoughts out onto the page in front on me. Then looking up at the clock I realized I was almost late. I quickly got up and made my way over to the conference room. My father was already waiting there.
"I want no messy or unladylike behaviour. You will great them kindly and listen to what we say, and do as I say, do I make myself clear?" Father spat.
I nodded sitting down in one of the many chairs around the room.
I kept my eyes on my feet, letting my hair hide my face.
There was the sound of knocking on the door and father moved to open it.
"Come on in."
Two males entered the room. Father was immediately greeted one.
"It's good to see you again, Luccas." The man shook the fathers' hand. "This is my son, Hayden." He said.
My father moved to shake the other figures hand, I guess.
Oh no. I was going to have to shake their hands too.
I feel bad for them
"Wonderful to see you again Jason." Father glanced over at me. "This is my daughter Ocean."
Just breath I told myself as I got up to shake their hands.
"My, she's a beauty." The older man said softly.
I smiled softly at the compliment, but it dropped as the voice in my head spoke.
He's only saying that, so he doesn't upset Luccas. Honestly you look like shit.
I kept my head down as I shook the younger boys' hand.
"Ocean." Father voice sounded stern.
"Go fetch me some water sweetheart." This time he tried to sound nicer.
Ha he can try but it won't work.
I walked out of the room to fetch some water, knowing my father was not the only one who was going to thirsty, I grabbed three cups.
I took as much time as I could on my way back.
