It took me a week to convince Ocean to do Thanksgiving. My parents decided to go on a short vacation this weekend. They deserved the time off. My dad had been working nonstop for the past month and my mom just seemed out of it.

Normally the week before Thanksgiving we did a big dinner with my friends. This year we planned to spent actual Thanksgiving together.
Nick and Nicolas's parents went out to see their older sister in Ireland. Vira chose to spend it with us over her family. I don't know why but it sounded like there was a little trouble there. Jayden was torn but his parents told him to join our celebration as they weren't planning much.

Today was Thanksgiving. Ocean was running around the kitchen. Normally we would get a turkey and roast it in the oven, but not this year.
With Ocean in charge of the food the menu had some changes to it.

Ocean was making a honey glazed ham with mashed potato. No Brussel sprouts this year, just asparagus carrots, and zucchini.
She also made stuffing even though there's no turkey. And cranberry sauce.

There are two fully homemade pies in the fridge that she made yesterday in preparation that would be going in the oven while we eat dinner. One was a classic pumpkin and the other was a caramel apple cinnamon.

While waiting for dinner, we decided to play a game. We had all offered to help but Ocean had kicked us out of the kitchen.

I noticed that Jayden was very distracted though our game. His focus shifted to Nicola so much it was like it never left.

After, Jayden pulled me aside, he looked extremely excited. "I finally did it man."

"Did what?" I was confused

"Asked me out," Nicola walked by our conversation.

"And?"

"She said yes dude."

"Nice!" I smiled and patted him on the back
"What you guys chatting about?" Nick joined our conversation as Cola walked over to Vira.

"Oh, nothing much," Jayden said quickly. "Just how things are going."

The conversation died to some small talk. I stood to check on Ocean when I heard Vira exclaim. "You're dating him!" with a squeal.

"Dating who?" Nick was instantly intrigued in their conversation. Jayden and I shared worried glances.
"And why have I not met him yet?" Nick pushed.

"Oh, you know him." Nicola shrugged.

"Why didn't you bring him then." Nick kept pushing

"Because he's already here." Jayden took the conversation over from Nicola.

Nikolaev turned around his grin dropping from his face. "Who said you could date my sister."

"Um she did."

"Well, you can't." Nikolaev glared at Jayden. "Not now, not ever."

"Why the fuck not."

"Cuz I said so."

"And?" Cola interjected.

"I say no."

"Too bad." Cola shrugged.

"You're my sister, you can't date him." Nick growled.

"Why the fuck not."

"He just wants to have sex with you."

"No, I don't." Jayden rejoined the conversation. "I want to take care of her and make her happy."

"Bullshit."

"Nikolaev, you have no right to tell me who I can and cannot date."

"You listen good, I am just looking out for you."

"I don't care."

"You..."

"No, you will listen to me. when I got dumped and cheated on who was there for me?" Nicola glared. She took a deep breath.

"It wasn't you. It was Jayden. Who helped my put myself back together when I felt like shit?" Nicola glared. "Jayden."

"He's my friend, I know what he's like." Nick tried.

"he's my friend too so fuck off." Cola responded.

"No, I won't let him date you. you cannot date my friends."

"You're dating my best friend." Nicola shot back.

"I.." Nick hesitated.

"Hell, you live my best friend, but oh god forbid I date your friend." Nicola was mad. Really mad. Ocean who had stopped to listen in shrunk back and darted into the kitchen.

"If you can fuck my best friend why can't I fuck yours?" Nicola Took another breath. "You don't want me to be happy, do you?"

"I do Nikki I swear." Nick swallowed hard. "I just don't want you to get hurt."

"I have been hurt and you did nothing." Nicola glared at him again.

"Fine." Nick held his hand up, "You win. But don't come crying to me when things don't work out."

Ignoring the rest of their conversation, I ducked into the kitchen to find Ocean.

She had her back to me, an apron tied around her waist. The fabric pulled tight around her midsection showed off her curves well. Her hair was pulled up into a messy bun on top of her head. The way she moved so gracefully around in the kitchen it was almost natural. Her hips swayed so smoothly, I stood in the doorway watching her.

She turned around and saw me standing there, it startled her enough to drop the spatula.

"Hey, um you good?" What the hell was that. I felt nervous talking to her suddenly.

She picked the spatula and moved to the sink to clean it off, ignoring my words completely.

I walked up to her and trapped her between myself and the counter. "Hey, you, ok?" She looked at me with her doe like grey eyes that were so easy to get lost in. Her lips looked so soft and kissable. Her cute button nose scrunched in frustration, and she ducked under my arms in order to get to one o the cooking pans.

Fuck.

I missed her response.

Well shit.

"You know puppy eyes only work if she's looking at you."

Holy shit.

Vira had appeared next to me.

Dinner was probably one of the best and most filling meals I've ever eaten.

We had finished dinner, and all decided to change into our pajamas and watch a random movie. Ocean was suck in my room with me again as they were all staying the night.

I walked out of our bathroom with my grey pajama bottoms and a random t shirt on. My gaze was met by a passed-out Ocean on the bed. Food coma. I watched her as I walked toward my bedroom door.

At least I thought it was my bedroom door. Nope.

I walked directly into the wall next to the open door.

And Nicola and Jayden saw.

It woke Ocean up from her slumber and drew a loud curse from my lips.

Ocean sat up fully alert. I walked over to her rubbing my head.

"Angel, go back to sleep."

She looked up at me and pulled my hand off my forehead to inspect. When she deemed there was no lasting damage, she got up and grabbed her clothes and disappeared into the bathroom.

I stepped out into the hallway only to hear a couple smartass remarks. "Finally found the door?"

I glared at Jayden for that one. Vira and Nick joined us moments later.

"What was that sound?" Vira asked as we all descended the stairs together.

"Hayden walked into the wall."

I stopped walking and glared at Nicola as they continued down the stairs. suddenly a small redhead passed by me, and I felt a smile creep onto my face. She looks so cute in her oversized t-shirt and fuzzy pajama pants. Her hair swayed as she continued down the stairs and I followed her with my eyes. Mistake. I missed the last two steps and landed on my butt.

At least the others were laughing.
