Pool party
Hayden
Standing in the hallway with the rest of the crew, we argued about who would drive with who. while the others argued, I found myself mentally revisiting the moment between me and ocean in the bedroom.
She stood there so wondrously. She didn't seem mad at the fact that her room was tiny. The was her nose scrunched up slightly when she looked around was so adorable. I wanted to wrap my arms around her and kiss her soft lips.
I snapped out of my train of thoughts as a hand came in me and oceans direction. I ducted out of the way, smirking at my dramatic friend, Nick.
Jayden was insisting that Cola should drive with him, but Nick wasn't to keen on that idea.
After Nicola finally put in that she would rather go with Jayden then with, and I quote, "the lovie Dovie grossness of you two".
Once that was settled, we all made our way to the cars. I opened the door for Ocean first as I can be a gentleman. Once in the car I couldn't help but notice that Ocean seemed very nervous.
Oh well I thought as I started the car. The drive was short, only about five minutes, and luck for us there was no line at the front desk.
I paid for the public swim for me and Ocean. We waited for the others to finish up paying before heading into the change rooms. Me and the boys took only a matter of minutes to get changed while the girls took fifteen.
The pool was mostly empty, only two other people both swimming lanes.
Me and the boys were already in the pool when the girls come out of the change rooms. Both Jay and Nick had a very mischievous look on their faces. While the girls looked around trying to find us, they hopped out of the pool. I knew what was going to happen and I couldn't wait to see the boys get told off. They snuck up behind the two girl. Grabbing the girls around the waist, Jay and Nick ran back to the pool jumping in with the girls still in their arms. When they all surfaced, I could hear the girl screeching like crazy mad woman. My attention had been taken off of them when I saw Ocean. Her hair was down, and she had on a black t-shirt and black shorts over a one piece.
The shorts really showed off her legs I found myself thinking.
No bad Hayden. I scolded myself when I remembered that we promised not to get involved with each other.
It had been about an hour of play and Ocean still hadn't come into the water.
I was getting out of the pool to use the diving board, when I glanced over at Ocean. I stopped to watch for a couple seconds as she moved toward the pool where Vira was motioning to her. Seeing Cola out of the corner o my eye, I knew they had something planned and I couldn't wait to watch it play out. I smirked as Vira move slightly out of the way as Nicola gave Ocean a good shove, sending her into the water.
I watched as Oceans face became extremely surprised. When she hit the water, her hair fanned out around her, and I couldn't help but stare.
In half a second Oceans look changed from surprised to horrified. Ocean stopped moving. I saw bubbles escape from her mouth, and I knew something was going to go extremely wrong. Taking big strides back towards the pool, I watched as Oceans eyes closed. I dove in after her, hoping I wasn't to late. Pushing myself down towards the bottom of the pool I scooped her up, swimming back up to the top.
My head broke the surface and I inhaled deeply. I started to tread water, keeping us afloat. She wasn't breathing. I realized this with horror. Suddenly she started coughing, to my great relief.
Swimming over to the side with ease, I hoisted her out of the water. Once she was seated on stable ground, I pulled myself up next to her. She was still coughing really hard, and her eyes were closed. I gently wrapped an arm around her, letting her rest on my side. I found myself rubbing circles on her back as her breathing slowly started to normalize. Although there was water streaming down her face from her hair, I knew that some of it was also tears. I suddenly took note of o small drop of blood that dropped from her lip.
"Ocean," I spoke, hoping to get a reaction.
Nothing.
Slowly I brought my finger to her lip, wiping the blood off her lip.
I let out the breathing hadn't realized I was holding when I saw the it was coming from a small cut on her lip,
I don't know how long I sat there with her, but I didn't care. After seeing the terrified look on her face, I just wanted to protect her.
I glanced down at her as I felt a soft shiver. I watched her rub the water from her eyes before looking up at me. I immediately knew she was cold from just one look. First off, she had goosebumps as well as her small, soft looking lips were turning slightly purple.
"Hey," Nicks voice startled me out of my daze. "We are all heading to the hot tub, you two coming?"
"I'll be there in a second." I said waving him away. I stood up, helping Oceans shivering figure up.
Finally I asked her, "Do you want to come into the hot tub to warm up."
Her response made me smile. Although it was a very hesitant nod, it was a yes.
"Don't worry, I won't let go." I said, it felt as though someone else had taken over my mind. I felt the need to protect her. Sliding my arm around her waist, I led the way to the hot tub area. We descended into the hot water together and I could tell she was shocked by how warm it is. I brought her over to where my friend were all sitting. Nick and Nicola were in a heated argument and Vira was watching Jayden with a very confused look on her face. I sat down, motioning for her to sit down as well. She refused to my great surprise. I looked at her, seeing her hand gripping her arm in a nervous way. The water was already very high on her I realized. I pulled her to sit down since it looked as though her legs were about to collapse. As soon as I did, I realized my mistake. I quickly pulled he onto my lap as she fell. She was very startled at the motion, but it kept the water at her shoulders, so it was necessary. She let her head rest on my chest, which greatly surprised me. Leaning down slightly, I asked her, "Can you swim?"
She made no move to look at me when she nodded then shook her head.
Yes but no. What the heck does that mean? I though for a second puzzled by the answer.
"When was the last time you went swimming?" I asked thinking I might understand what she meant.
Five fingers was all she held up.
"When you were five?" I asked and she nodded. "So, you knew how to swim but now you don't."
Her nod confirmed my suspicion.
Jayden and Nicola started splashing eachother with the hot water as we sat there. Nick was watching them with slight distain as Vira ranted to Ocean about some book she was reading. Ocean began to shift slightly where she sat on my lap. Nothing to noticeable for the other but.
Hey, she's a hot girl. And my fiancée.
I pulled her tighter to me to stop her squirming hoping that she wouldn't notice. I glanced down at her and then back up at Vira who gave me a knowing wink. My cheeks flushed even redder and I broke our eye contact as quickly as I could.
The water that swirled around us was wonderfully warm but, it was time for us to get out. Helping Ocean to her feet, I sent her off with the girls to get changed.
We met up with the girl in the front entrance of the pool and I took Oceans bag.
After a five-minute drive, we were home and looking at the clock, Ocean disappeared into the kitchen, and I would have followed but I was roped into helping my friends grab their overnight bags.
