Her?

Hayden

I walked into my office, not expecting to see both my parents waiting. "Yes?" I asked, slightly confused.
"Come son," my father said. "We have an appointment with the CEO of David's Incorporated."
"Alright," I sighed. I grabbed my key and walked to my car. My dad opened the door and took the passenger seat.
"Good luck," mom smiled encouragingly.
I put the key in and started that car.
The drive was silent except for the soft music playing from my car speakers.
Once we got to the building, my dad led the way inside.
"We are here to see the CEO." He stated.
"Do you have an appointment?" The secretary asked, batting her eyes at me.
"We do. Under the name of Woods." Dad said.
"Ok." The lady check her computer. "Daniel!" She called, "can you take them to conference room A?" She asked the strong looking man leaning against the wall near a door. "Yeah yeah." He nodded, motioning for us to follow him.
We were led to an elevator and brought to the 16th floor. The man led us to a room and said, "There you go."
My dad thanked him before knocking on the closed door. The door swung open to reveal an older man.
"Come on in." He smiled, which didn't reach his eyes.
I followed my father, only to see another figure in the room. It was a small red hairs thing. I think it was human, but my view was obscured by the amount of hair.
"It's good to see you again, Luccas." My dad shook the man's hand. "This is my son, Hayden."
I smiled and shook the man's hand.
"Wonderful to see you again Jason." The man nodded. "This is my daughter Ocean."
The girl stood up, and walked over, shaking hands with my dad.
"My, she's a beauty." Dad smiled.
I reached out and shook the girls' hand.
As I did, she glanced up at me and I immediately recognized her.
Oh god.
She's the girl I called a lowly scamp.
I'm screwed.
"Ocean." Luccas's voice brought me out of my trance.
"Go fetch me some water sweetheart." Luccas asked.
Nodding she disappeared.
"Now about the deal," my father started.
"Ah yes." Luccas nodded, "has he been filled in on the details?"
"Not yet, has your daughter been?"
"Ah no."
I sat there a slight outsider to their conversation. The redhead re-entered the room and placed three cups of water on the table before quietly sitting down.
"So," Luccas began. "The terms of the deal are you two will have a year long fake engagement."
"What!" I gasped.
"Son, it'll look good for you and during the year I'll hand over my company's ownership to you."
I sighed, glancing over at the girl. She was silent, as always.
"But I don't know anything about her."
"Well you've got a year to figure out who she is."
"I have school too!"
"You're not taking difficult courses."
"Ocean will most likely agree to this but we will be speaking it over later." Luccas said.
"Why doesn't she voice any concerns now?" My father asked.
The next two words he said shattered my who world.
"She's mute."
So, I mistook the daughter of the second richest CEO for a poor kid, and she's mute.
I suddenly felt sick.
"Is there a washroom?" I asked.
"Yes, just down the hallway." Luccas nodded, "show him." Luccas waved a hand at his daughter.
I follow redhead out and to the washroom. I could feel many eyes on us.
We stopped right outside a door and she pointed at it. Glancing at the sign, I saw it was the men's washroom. I entered, did my business and then splashed some cold water on my face. I wasn't dreaming. Ugh.
I was just exiting the bathroom when I heard a female voice.
"What are you doing here? You supposed to be in a meeting with your father."
I stepped out of the washroom.
"Sorry am I interrupting something?" I asked.
The girl turned. "No. I was just telling this crazy off." She purred.
"Well, if your finished, I'd like to have my escort back." I said smoothly, trying not to cringe at the flirting.
"Oh, my greatest apologies sir." She giggled.
Ocean pushed off the wall she had been leaning against. Motioning for me to follow she started walking down the hallway. I hurried to catch up with her.
Once we were back and seated in the conference room, my dad addressed us.
"We have decided that the final decision is for err...Willow?"
"Ocean." Luccas corrected looking bored.
"Ah yes Ocean." My dad nodded, slightly embarrassed. "The final decision is for Ocean and you son."
"We will give you the night to think it over." Luccas nodded.
We all shook hand again, and Ocean led us to the exit.
"Thank you for you time sweetheart." My father smiled at her. She only nodded before turning and heading back inside.
Once inside my car, my dad asked, "What are your thoughts?"
"Look dad, I'll do it for the company, but I don't want anything to do with her after that." I said. The last thing I want is for my school reputation to be ruined because of this freak.
First her name is literally a place on earth that people often go.
Second, she mute.
Thirdly she's a book nerd, heck she even has the glasses.
"I'm proud of you son." Dad said as I pulled into the driveway of my parents' house. "And don't forget, there is more to a person than what's on the outside." My dad said as he got out of my car.
Once he had closed the door, I let out a sigh of frustration.
I was going to be known for "loving" this social disgrace of a nerd. She wasn't even good looking. I mean she could be if she lost the glasses but that'll never happen. Unless I force her to.
Which I will. I started forming my master plan in my head. I was going to make this girl hate herself more then I hated her.
