✒ {Roleplay Guide #2} Chapter Two: Learning From Your Mentor
One of the most important things of being an apprentice... learning from your mentor!
While most roleplays put straight rules out, the actual acting has a few rules in itself.
Tip 1: Always listen to your mentor! You want it to be enjoyable for you both, and going against their doings will end badly. Probably for you. So just follow what they say--they're supposed to be the experienced one. And if they're not...I would probably ask for a new one...
Tip 2: Always try to focus. Nothing gets done if you are an apprentice that wanders off, doesn't do their apprentice duties, and so on. Just focus on your training--it will make time fly and it'll be useful to your character!
Tip 3: Do your apprentice duties! You just gotta do 'em. There aren't many people who want to be elders. Totally understandable. But when you think about it... it IS a warriors roleplay... right? Warriors all do apprentice duties at some point in their lives, and while you might not have to help elders, you can clean out the old moss and such. I get it--I hate cleaning my room in real life haha.
Tip 4: Don't give your mentor a hard time. It's not fun for the other person at all. Just try and make it easy!
Tip 5: Always just learn like a new apprentice in a real clan. You aren't Starpaw from...that book. No apprentice will get a kill or a battle move on their first try. Roleplaying is acting behind a screen, play the part!
