✒ {Roleplay Guide #1} Bonus Chapter 2
Tips From Onyx
Role play isn't all about storylines and prophecies; I believe the whole point of the role play is to let the people who have joined make their own storylines, and let them see where their paws take them.
However, it can be tricky if there is no one active, and sometimes others don't want to start drama in case they are hated on for being the centre of attention.
Therefore, it is up to YOU to help set your role play on the right path, because the more people who are active and the more interesting the storylines are, the more people will join and the more it will strive!
***
1) Try to make a character in every Clan that you have on your role play, so that you know what's going on in those Clans, and so people from that Clan can come to you if they want to role play.
However, it can get a bit overwhelming if you are role playing with lots of people from lots of different Clans-- and that's perfectly fine! Just let them know if that happens, or tell them that they can always role play with someone else.
2) Communication is key!!! If you are planning a big plot line, or even making a small time-skip, you have to communicate with others to let them know that is happening! Most people are incredibly friendly, so don't feel nervous! If you start making big changes before telling anyone, it can throw people off.
3) Give some freedom!
Picture the scene...
You are scrolling through pages and pages of Warriors role plays on Wattpad, when you happen to see one that seems to leap out at you. Filled with curiosity, you move your pointer over to it and click 'read'.
So far it is going well, you have read the beginning and the 'introduction to the Clans', and you just know this role play is going to be good! You just have the rules left before you can fill out your form and start role playing.
You click on the rules page and...
Oh no!
Rule 1) Don't do anything without my permission.
Rule 2) Always follow the storylines I have set.
Rule 3) No drama without asking me first.
Rule 4) Etc, etc, etc...
Not appealing, is it? Give your role players some freedom... Who knows? Together you might come up with the best storyline yet!
5) Accept some criticism. No one is perfect, and if it is your first role play, you're bound to make some mistakes. If you're clever, instead of dismissing constructive criticism, you will try to act upon it and improve your role play instead! Not even our role plays are perfect, so don't be afraid to make some changes now and again.
6) However, there is a fine line between constructive criticism and just plain abhorrent behaviour. If others are purposefully making you feel bad or self conscious about what you are posting, don't be disheartened! There are lots of nice people on the Internet, and so few horrible ones, so that when people are rude, it seems to stick out more.
It's easy to block and delete rude comments, and if they are repeatedly doing it, just report them. Whatever you do, don't let them define you! It's YOUR role play, and only YOU can make it a success.
So good luck young apprentice, and may StarClan light your path!
