Character development is one of the most crucial points in a story. Why? A good character development allows the readers to understand the character's behaviour, and in turn stay engaged with your book. An underdeveloped character is usually classified as boring and typical.

There are two ways for readers to know a character's personality - direct and indirect. As a writer, you can either straight out tell the readers about the character's personality, or if you want to make things harder for the readers, let them deduce the character's personality for themselves.

The little choices you make while writing determines how your story turns out. Therefore, I suggest you to take character development very seriously, and aim for perfection.

All right - so even though character development is important, do not overdo it! An overdeveloped character may lead to him/her being a flawless character.

Be mindful of whatever your write, and impress your audience with your skills. It doesn't matter if your English isn't perfect - it's the passion and thought that counts.
