"Honestly, Peter, if you play Want You Back one more time, I'll kill you myself," Jenna had said, glaring at her brother who stood in front of the radio for the Milano, her twin brother contemplating which of the two cassette tapes he wanted to play. He looks up at her comment, rolling his eyes as she continues to glare at him front across the room.
"You act like you hate that song, but if I remember correctly, it was you who constantly begged Mom to play it," Peter pointed out, Jenna letting out a scoff before her glare softened at the mention of their mother. Almost out of habit, her hand reached up at the charm on the necklace she wore, her fingers playing with it.
"That was before you made us all listen to it nearly every day for two weeks. Do everyone a favor and play something new," Jenna said, bringing herself out of her moment and leaving Peter alone with the radio.
Jenna lets out a sigh, letting go of the charm that hung off the necklace around her neck as she looks out at the city of Asgard and tried her best not to stare at Thor and Jane who stood off to her side. They'd been there for a few days now, Jenna feeling like an awkward third wheel to completely strangers but she didn't have anywhere else she could go. She held within her a dark power that was slowly killing her, Jane too but at a faster rate than her, much to everyone else's confusion. Jenna wasn't confused though as this wasn't the first time she'd had power like this running through her veins and she wasn't entirely human to boot, Jane on the other hand was and for whatever reason... Jenna felt responsible for the woman's predicament despite the fact they both knew it was far from Jenna's fault.
"You look troubled," A woman's voice sounds out, Jenna nearly jumping out of her skin as she forces herself to look at who had spoken, a sigh of relief when she recognized her. She had met Frigga briefly in passing when they first arrived, the wife of Odin and Thor's mother, and so far she was the kindest to her next to Thor himself. Everyone else had regarded Jenna with odd looks filled with a familiarity that Jenna didn't quite understand. She had noticed a few people pointing at her over the past few days, talking as if they knew who she was which of course only contributed to her confusion. As far as Jenna Quill was aware, she'd never set foot on Asgard before now.
"I was just thinking," Jenna says quietly once she got over her initial fright. Frigga offers the young woman a soft smile, Jenna returning it because it was the polite thing to do and she did actually like Frigga. Without even realizing it, Jenna was playing with the charm on her necklace again, the action bringing Frigga's attention to the jewelry.
"That's a peculiar looking thing, what's it supposed to be?" Frigga asks, quirking an eyebrow as Jenna laughs a little sheepishly.
"It's uh... A peanut butter jar, my mother gave it to my brother shortly before she passed," Jenna says, looking down at it with a sad smile. "She gave me one too, but it's a jelly jar instead. She used to call us her Peanut Butter and Jelly twins. When she passed away, we decided to switch so we'd always have a piece of each other when we were apart."
"That's rather sweet, you two are close then?" Frigga asks, a sad look in her eyes that Jenna was unable to understand.
"I like to think we are... He's all I really have left," Jenna says quietly, looking off in the distance as she speaks. She can't help it when her eyes land on Thor and Jane again, the young woman once again unable to shake the feeling that despite just meeting him three days ago... She knew this man just as she knew this place. Asgard felt familiar, like a home away from home that she didn't realize that she had. She wanted to say it was because she'd seen it in a dream, Jenna often had dreams of faraway places accompanied with unfamiliar people for as long as she could remember... but something about this place felt different, like she had actually walked down these paths before, talked to these people before... and for whatever reason, it seemed to revolve around the man talking to the pretty brunette several feet away.
She tries not to stare, tries not to wonder what it would be like if she was actually standing in Jane Foster's place... but Jenna couldn't help the thoughts running through her head any more than Thor could help the way he looked at Jane.
"He really does care for her," Jenna found herself whispering, Frigga's gaze following Jenna's to see what it was she'd been staring at.
"He does and it makes me happy to see him so... There was a time I didn't think he would ever care for another, not after he lost he-" Frigga starts, quickly stopping herself because this wasn't her place. She takes in a deep breath, tearing her eyes away from her son and Jane Foster to look back at Jenna Quill. She couldn't get over the similarities she held with someone she'd once known, someone everyone on Asgard had once revered as one of the best of them... but Frigga didn't want to cause anymore problems for the clearly lost girl. So instead she excuses herself from the current conversation, leaving Jenna Quill to stand on her own as the young woman is once again back to playing with the charm on her necklace until the sounds of alarm bells started to echo.
