I was too excited and I ended up a cover for my D.Gray-man fanfiction... but I'm supposed to put the cover after a specific arc is done.

Meh. And I kinda left the fanfiction cause... reasons. I want to finish one of my stories first then I'll get back to it. TT_TT

To those grammar kids who always corrects someone when they see a single mistake, the title is really spelled as "Marshal" with a single L. Why? Because it's the British spelling. No, I ain't British but the story takes place in the UK.

Here are some pics and steps of making the cover.

The original image.

Then I rendered the characters.

Yes.

I rendered those 5 characters and it was a pain going through all those curves, edges and spikes.

I added the finished render and tried to position it back onto the original image. (As you can see on Lenalee's sleeve, the smaller sleeve is the original image). Lenalee's the girl with short purple hair. Then I added my OC, and it's painfully obvious. Gosh, I just realized how bad the edit is.

Then I added some overlays and textures. And I cropped the image/canvas.

I tried to hide the legs of my OC for several reasons. I edited a pic of Lenalee and turned her to my OC and the shoes clearly indicates that it's Lenalee, so I hid it. The power of editing!

I added a torn paper effect for the title and to hide my OC's legs. Then I added a watercolor texture to it so it'll not look plain.

And tadah! I added the title (which is so simple and probably plain looking) and I'm done!

P.S. I had to lower the resolution of all the images that I posted here because Wattpad's maximum image size is 10 megabytes and my images are 12-15 megabytes. So yeah. I learned my lesson and I'll never make any huge and super hd covers. Lol.
