Chapter 3: ~ Christian's POV
Three weeks. Three weeks, five days, 12 hours, 38 minutes and 55 seconds... 56. ..57. .. 58...
The floor was cold stone and the chains on my arms were unbearingly tight. The door creaked open and Catrina was tossed in like a rag doll. She had bruises on her arms. Her nose had dried blood on it. Her left eye were swollen and close shut. Tried to sit up and started to cough uncontrollably.
“Catrina! Catrina take it easy.” I said crawling over to her. “It’s okay, we’ll be out of here soon Catrina. Soon Catrina, soon.”
“How long?” She asked. I gave her a confused look. “How long have we been in here?” I looked away not trying to give her anymore pain. “Christian. Answer me. How long have we been in here?”
I sighed. “Three weeks, five days, 12 hours, 39 minutes, and 20 seconds. We’ll be fine though Catrina. We’ll be fine. Once the others get here-”
“No!” She interjected angrily. “They’ll never get here. Its been three weeks, Christian. Three. Weeks. If they haven’t gotten here now… then they’ll never be here. Just face it. We’re gonna die here.”
“Don’t say that!” I looked away.
“It’s true! Christian look at me.” I looked at her. “Do you see what they did to me? Do you see? It’s only a matter of time that they do the same to you. If-if we die then-”
“WE ARE NOT GONNA DIE, CATRINA!” I screamed at her. Tears sprung into my eyes. “They will come! I know it, and when they do we’ll be safe. We’ll have a family. We WON’T be dead. Got it?” She nodded. “Now, stop saying that mess. Have a little hope will you? We’ll be out of here sooner than you know it. Okay?” She nodded again. “Now, go to sleep. You need to rest.” She lied down her head and soon she was sleeping soundly.
‘We’re not going to die.’ I told myself. ‘We’re not going to die. We’re not going to die.’ I looked at the ceiling. “Come on, guys.” I said to myself. “We need you. Please, we’re gonna die.
