~from (y/n)'s POV~
You got out of your tent the next day, no richer in sleep, and walked around a bit, trying to get the blood flowing from your brain to your toes. You'd been to scared to sleep, not for the first night in a row, and the mere effort of walking was overwhelming you.
Suddenly, you weren't walking anymore; you were tripping, landing flat on your face, and you didn't have the energy to get up.
Then you saw a foot out of your peripherals. "(Y/n)-"
It's Levi. I can't face him, not now, and especially not like this.
"Just-"
"Oh, hey, (y/n). I saw you fall, and it looked pretty dangerous. Are you hurt? Here, let me help you up. You have to be careful with your cell phone, you know. Try not to fall on it. Let's get you recharged, too. You never know, and your phone model is pretty old, right? Kind of unpredictable. So, we should get that looked at. C'mon," Jean rambled on and on. "Oh, hey Levi," he said as though just noticing the midget. "I'm going to borrow (y/n) for a bit, okay? Great. Okay, bye." Then he grabbed your hand, lifted you up, and started walking (dragging) you across the makeshift campground.
"Jean, what are you doing?" you asked.
"Uh..." He rubbed the back of his neck bashfully. "I just, I don't know, it seemed like you needed someone to spirit you away." He mock-saluted. "Jean Kirstein here, escapist extraordinaire."
The two of you laughed.
"Well, thanks," you finally said, smiling. "I did want to escape."
He nodded, smiling with a sad glimmer in his eyes. "I know. I could tell." He paused, his sadness dissipating. "Hey...look, I know this sounds stupid and weird, but, uh, can I have your number? I don't mean it like, you know, just, our cell phones are all we have and-"
"Sure," you said, stopping him. "Give me your cell and I'll add myself as a contact."
He handed over his phone, and you put your number in. Then you handed him your phone so he could do the same.
"All right, we're all good," he said a moment later, handing your phone back to you with a smile.
"Now we're officially friends!!" you exclaimed.
"Yep!"

You and Jean hung out the rest of the day. He was funny, occasionally sulking when you didn't pay attention to him, and he seemed to dislike Eren, Levi, Erwin, Annie - wait, that was pretty much everybody except yourself.
We've already lost so many people...
You tried to keep the thought out of mind and just enjoy being around Jean. Whenever Levi or Erwin tried to talk to you, he got in their way and made them leave, which made you happy. You weren't ready to deal with them just yet. For now, you were going to stick close to Jean. He didn't seem to mind your company, after all, and he was probably feeling lonely without Marco.
Another bout of sadness hit you. Originally, there had been Jean, Marco, Eren, Levi, Armin, Sasha, Erwin, and yourself.
Already, two of them were gone. That was 25% of all the inhabitants of this strange situation.
That meant the possibility of you dying next was 1/6, or nearly 17%. Accounting for the possibility that one of those six might be a murdered... 1/5, or 20%. 20% sounded low...until you really did the math and thought about it. Jean, Erwin, Levi, Eren, and Armin were all male. The chance that they would be physically overpowered was lower than a female being overpowered. After all, the first victim had been Sasha, a girl, and the second had been Marco who, albeit being male, was kind and unsuspecting.
You were one of 2 female left. The odds that a female would be attacked was higher than a male, so...a 50% chance that you'd live, a 50% chance that you'd die, and even if you lived, someone else would die in your place.
But wait, you thought. You knew that Annie was physically strong and had some sort of fighting background. She was shorter than you, but you didn't know how to protect yourself. Which meant...
I'm the most likely target for the next murder.
It wasn't for certain, of course; Armin, while male, was still small enough to be easily overtaken, but you had a hard time imagining any of the other guys falling so easily. Which still left you as one of the most likely next victims.
You gripped your cell phone in your hand, rubbing your thumb over the icon and home button. You needed to go somewhere safe and hide. Maybe there was a murderer, maybe there wasn't, but you couldn't take that chance.
So the first time Jean left you alone for a moment, you ran off by yourself and hid in a nearby arcade. Nobody could know where you where. You couldn't trust them.

A few hours of sitting alone later, your mind tried to reason with you. They're your friend! They're not killers! Stop being ridiculous! What are you doing, sitting out here alone? That's even more dangerous than at the campground! Not to mention, you didn't bring a charger with you. What happens when your battery drops to below 10%? You'll be unconscious, and nobody will know where you are! Nobody will be able to save you! You'll die out here when the battery hits 0! Stop being stupid and go back to camp!
After being yelled about by your conscience enough, you finally crawled out from your hiding place and wandered back to camp.
You were just in time to see that they had built a campfire, and you saw the silhouette of a cell phone flying through the air - straight into the flames.
Then the screaming started.
