~from (y/n)'s POV~
Things changed in the camp after that. Tension swelled, and what had once been a unifying environment became a divisive one. States that had previously meant nothing were now being interpreted with suspicion, and those that weren't full of suspicion were empty, blank stares.
You yourself couldn't believe that one of the people in the camp could have possibly killed Sasha. Your roommate had been nice, outgoing. She'd had no enemies.
And knowing that she was gone...
You weren't particularly nice and outgoing yourself. You had enemies.
And if they killed Sasha...
Mightn't they kill you, too?
Not to mention the thought that had been weighing down on your mind...
As you'd recently been doing, you trekked over to the Ferris wheel and laid down in the cart. You didn't plug in headphones; your two close brushes with death had you too paranoid to listen to music. Secretly, you were waited with dread for the day when the electricity for the outlets was suddenly cut off, and nobody could recharge their phones. What then? You knew it was bound to happen at some point. In fact, it was far more strange that they hadn't done so already.
You sighed, leaning your head back and trying to get one thought out of your mind, but it kept swimming around in the little fish bowl you called your brain until you had to squeeze your hands against your head, trying to make it go away.
"(Y/n)?"
Surprised, you whipped your head up - straight into the metal bar that you'd forgotten about. You groaned, that one incessant thought finally replaced with something else - pain. You felt blood trickling down your forehead to the accompaniment of swearing, not your own. Then two strong hands gently extricated you from beneath the bar, pulling you out, and pressed some sort of material against your forehead.
"It's fine," Levi said, but his voice sounded far away. "Just a scratch."
"I'm bleeding."
"...a big scratch."
Despite the situation, you laughed quietly. That was until you opened your eyes and realized that the fabric pressed against your forehead was Levi's shirt. . .the shirt that he was no longer wearing. . .leaving him leaning over you, half naked.
You shut your eyes.
And then cursed yourself for not leaving them open.
"Why are you here?" Levi asked a few minutes later as he leaned away from you.
You assumed the bleeding must have stopped, so you went to sit up yourself, but Levi held you down.
"If you move too much, the bleeding with start again. Just lie down. And answer my question," he added as an afterthought.
"I...it makes me nervous. Being in the camp, I mean, knowing that one of us..." you trailed off, trying to quell your shaking hands. "I know it could have been an accident, but..."
Levi remained quiet. You knew he wanted to yell at you that of course it wasn't an accident, that shoes didn't make the same shatter patterns as hammers or whatever the murderer had used, but he kept quiet. For your sake.
You were beyond grateful, even as your stomach began to feel queasy.
"What's been bothering you?" he asked once you'd grown quiet yourself.
"Bothering me?" You paused. You didn't want to voice your own speculations...
"Tell me."
Well, you can't argue much with that, can you? "I just...I can't stop thinking...Sasha and I shared that tent. What if they hadn't meant to kill her? What if they meant to kill...me?" The word felt thick on your tongue, and you had to swallow down the unpleasantness in order to continue. "Even if they hadn't meant to target me, they could have picked me just as easily."
Levi was quiet. "Yeah. You're right."
You looked up at him in astonishment. "Levi! You're not supposed to tell me that! How am I supposed to sleep at night?!"
"I was just saying that you had a point. Someone could have just as easily targeted you. You could have died. Could still die. We don't know which bastard did it. We don't know if they'll kill again. But agonizing over it won't change anything."
You exhaled, letting out your worries along with carbon dioxide. "You have a point."
"Now let's get back to the camp."
"Right." You stood up, feeling a little light-headed, and took a few steps before you realized that Levi wasn't moving. "Levi?"
"...my shirt?"
"Oh, right." You blushed before (reluctantly) handing it back to him.

When the two of you approached camp, dusk was fast arriving.
Eren looked relieved when he saw the two of you. "Thank goodness. We're still waiting for Marco to get back, and it's going to be dark soon..."
"I'm sure he's on his way," you said with a smile, and Eren gave you a nervous smile back. That's when you bumped into Erwin.
"Hey, (y/n)," he said, giving you the same smile as the one you fell in love with.
"Erwin." Your own smile was more forced.
He didn't acknowledge Levi. "I know you haven't been sleeping well since...Sasha..."
And there was that observant, considerate side. You nodded.
"And since your tent is half empty now, I thought I would stay with you, in your tent."
Your mind went blank.
"I mean, for protection purposes," he added, blushing slightly in response to your own blush, and you could almost believe that e hadn't been f**king Annie the whole time.
But this would be the perfect opportunity to break up with him, once and for all, your mind argued against your better judgement. After a moment, you sighed. "Fine."
You ignored Levi's incredulous look as Erwin leaned in to kiss you, then ran off to grab his stuff.
"(Y/n)-" Levi's voice was tense, angry.
I'll talk to him tomorrow, once I've gotten rid of Erwin, you decided, giving Levi a cheap wave and jogging off.

Marco never returned that night.
