Phoenix and Wolf-End
You were dragged out of your blissful sleep by incessant knocking at the door. It was enough to make you grumble and twist around in Marco's arms to face his chest. Your nose was greeted with the thick, warm scent of fragrant flowers and you couldn't help but bask in the feeling of his smooth skin against your cheek.
"Tell'm to fuck off." You said sleepily when you felt him stir along with you.
He moved a bit as he tilted back, probably looking over his shoulder towards the door, and spoke up to be heard by whoever had woken you. "Fuck off-yoi!"
You snickered, thoroughly amused with him actually following through with it.
"Please tell me (Y/n) is still in one piece!" Thatch called from the other side. He'd learned his lesson about barging in apparently.
"Course she is! Now leave us alone!" Marco's voice was still husky with sleep. You always enjoyed when he sounded like that.
"We just wanna make sure!" Ace added, also standing right outside.
"You've made sure, now go away...." Marco trailed off as he squeezed you and ran a hand along your spine.
It made your tail lightly thump into the bed as you opened your eyes and stared up at him. He was smiling back down at you sleepily, his hair a tousled mess.
"We need to see her though!" Ace continued, turning Marco's smile into a scowl.
You giggled at the expression. He somehow made it look cute.
"Fine! Give us a few and we'll be out." He gave in, if only to shut them up.
"We just wanna see (Y/n), not you." Thatch scoffed. You could hear the subtle sound of their footsteps as the men started to leave.
You let out a huff and sat up, placing a hand on Marco's chest. "You guys are rude!"
There were snickers as they left, letting you know they heard you, but they didn't say anything in response.
Marco readjusted under you, laying flat on his back and wrapping a warm hand around your own.
"They see me all the time, they don't care." He chuckled.
"Well I do."
"I know-yoi. Come here."
He moved you around until you were straddling his waist and propped his arms under his head, staring up at you with a lazy smirk. Your tail flopped around from side to side, brushing against his legs as you let your gaze fall to his tattoo. You began tracing it with a finger, sure the guys could stand waiting a bit to see you until you'd fully woken up and had some private time with Marco.
"Should I get one too?" You asked.
"A tattoo?"
"Yeah, like this one." Your fingers lingered at the bottom portion, almost right in the middle of his abdomen before trailing back up to the part representing Pop's mustache.
"Only if you want to. Not everyone has it."
He wiggled an arm out from under his head and ran his hand up your hip, over your ribs, and past the side of your breast before going back down again. It was soothing, enough so to make you lay back down on top of him and scoot forward until your mouth hovered just above his.
"Marco?"
"Hmm?"
"You've got morning breath."
He grinned. "Can I still kiss you?"
"Of course." You felt along his stubble, scratching it lightly as he met you halfway.
Morning breath or not, you loved the feeling of his lips on yours. But it didn't last long enough for you. He pulled away with a sigh, patting your side.
"We'd better get out there before they decide to come in. And as for that tattoo, think it over. I'm sure Pops would love to see you get it but make sure you actually want it."
You rolled your eyes. "Okay dad."
"What, are you going to start calling me daddy now-yoi?" He raised a suggestive eyebrow at you.
Your mouth clamped shut as you blushed. "I'm going to get dressed."
He laughed as you clambered off of him and started going through the dresser. Since you'd been staying with him you kept a stash of clothes in his room. He was even nice enough to clear out half the drawers for you. Now it felt all the more right since you were together.
You glanced over to see Marco watching you. He'd rolled onto his belly and his eyes followed your every move as you slipped your underclothes on.
"Can I help you?"
"I was curious how you get that tail into your pants."
"So you're wanting to see me do it?"
"Yeah." He was shameless.
You shook your head, fighting back a smile as you wiggled into a pair of blue jeans. There was a hole specially made for your tail to go through and since it could move easily on its own accord, you got it through no problem. It was like threading a needle but much more simple. When it was done, he finally got out of bed. The sheets slipped away and you got the full view of him. As far as you were concerned, he was absolutely perfect.
There wasn't a single scar marring his well toned body. As he stretched, lifting his arms up over his head, you could see every muscle ripple and move. You never noticed before, but he had a small trail of hair that crawled up to his belly that was to die for. It must be constantly hidden by the sash he usually wore like a belt.
You blinked a few times and focused on getting a shirt on as he came by to snag a pair of pants, resting a hand on your hip as he leaned over to get to the dresser. You loved how casual, yet intimate the touch was. He bent down to kiss your shoulder before pulling away and shimmying into a pair of his usual bottoms. It was a shame to see him cover up but it was time to go out onto the deck.
"Do you think the guys know already?" The question popped into your head suddenly.
"That we had sex?"
"Yeah."
"They wouldn't have come knocking otherwise. I'm sure half the ship heard you." He cooed teasingly, squishing your face in his hand.
You didn't think about that and it had to show. Your eyes went wide as you remembered how vocal Marco made you last night. You'd be surprised if there was someone who didn't know.
Marco let out a rumbling laugh at your dumbstruck expression.
"C'mon-yoi. Let's go get this over with."
----
"Holy shit (Y/n)!" Thatch moved your head about gingerly as he inspected your neck. "And here I thought you were a little more animal than Marco."
"I don't know if I should take that as a compliment or not." You scowled away at him as he prodded at one of your many hickeys.
"He tore you up." Ace agreed.
"Oh fuck off." Marco snapped, leaning against Pop's chair.
The giant of a man himself watched everything, looking very much amused. He seemed unbothered by the new relationship between you and Marco and that relieved you. There was the whole family dynamic going on with the crew and you weren't sure how he'd take it knowing his "children" had developed feelings for each other. But there literally wasn't a single person on board that had any kind of blood relation to someone else. Maybe it made sense that he was okay with it.
"You should've at least cleaned her up." Izo said, hinting towards Marco using his devil fruit to heal the marks.
"She didn't want me to." He shrugged and everyone turned their attention to you in response.
"What? I kinda like them...." You couldn't focus on any one set of eyes and settled for bouncing around among the men gathered.
"If she's not bothered by them let her be." Jozu growled.
"You two must have had one helluva night." Ace winked at you.
"For sure." Marco gave you a very suggestive smile, his eyes lingering on different parts of your frame. "She's got plenty more marks than what you're seeing."
"I don't need to hear this." Pops said with a deep frown. "A parent shouldn't hear about what their children do in the privacy of their room."
"You can blame them for it." You motioned to the group of men who all averted their eyes, still not feeling quite their best from Pops roughing them up.
Plenty of them were a little bruised, the most notable one being Teach for actually hurting you. There were some marks you could see on guys like Thatch and Ace, but nothing that stopped them from teasing you this morning. They got roughed up, but not beat to a pulp. Pops didn't like crossing the line between punishment and abuse. Either way, he was sure they needed some sense knocked into them anyway.
"At least you two aren't trying to pretend you don't actually like each other anymore." Izo said triumphantly.
"Have you guys noticed they're both mythical creatures too? I think it was meant to be." Ace added.
"We're not." You nudged Thatch away and walked up to Marco, tugging him down lightly to fix part of his still messy hair. With you being an item now, you weren't afraid to be as touchy with him anymore. "He is, I'm just a little different, nothing mythical about my wolf form."
"I dunno, I feel like all you Druids are practically mythical creatures."
"I can agree with that-yoi. You should've seen the guy that shifted for us on Manta, he looked pretty cool." Marco turned you around and backed you into him, wrapping his arms around your waist. He wasn't opposed to being touchy either.
"The Druids on that island don't count for shit." Pops reminded you of his thoughts on the residents of Manta. "They're just a bunch of pompous brats, too big for their britches."
"What's that make our cute little (Y/n)?" Thatch snickered when you glared at him. He loved playing the role of big brother.
"A real Druid." Pops answered simply.
You didn't know why this was suddenly a big deal and you weren't usually one to tolerate being the center of attention but they weren't going to let you not be. They took too much pleasure in this. To distract yourself as they went on about whether or not they could consider you to be a mythical creature or not, you scratched at Marco's chin, earning his attention.
"What's up?"
"...Nothing." You were content to have his eyes on you. There wasn't anything you felt the need to say.
Maybe that was the wolfish part of you, wanting the constant recognition of your partner. Or maybe it was just because this was still so new. You were in the very beginning stages of a relationship when touch was constant and it was hard to get enough of each other's company. You hoped you never left that stage.
"See Marco, this is what I was talking about with how she looks at you." Izo said, exasperated. "Excuse my lack of a better term, but she's always giving you puppy dog eyes."
You had a deep dislike for being compared to a dog and everyone knew it, so of course the statement made you frown.
"That look." Marco nodded. "Cute, isn't it-yoi?"
"S'not cute." You huffed, tired of being given such titles on a regular basis. It was always cute or little or something along those lines. You didn't need Marco joining in on calling you such things.
"You know what's really cute?" Ace lit up. "Those fangs."
As if on cue, Marco wiggled a thumb in between your lips and made you open your mouth despite your protests, showing off the dainty wolfish canines. Everyone got a kick out of you attempting to complain around the digit in your mouth. When he released you, chuckling, you pouted at him, not nearly as amused as the others.
"They're scary, not cute." You mumbled, crossing your arms.
"Sure, they're super scary." Vista nodded along.
"I mean, speaking from experience, they can be." Thatch teased, making you bare your teeth in response.
"Yeah but they're so small when she's like this." Izo noted. "I'd say they're harmless."
"I'd betcha Marco would know for sure." Ace looked over in yours and Marco's direction, eyeing the other man questioningly.
"Not yet I don't-yoi."
"Yet?" You leaned your head back to look at him.
"Yeah. What fun is getting frisky without using a little bit of teeth?"
You blushed as you realized he was insinuating him letting you bite him sexually right in front of a good portion of the crew.
"Stop it." Pops grumbled in disgust. "I don't want to hear any more about your interests."
"I'm done being the center of attention now." You sighed.
"Nah, you'll be done when you're no longer the newest member of the crew." Marco said.
"And how long does it take for someone to join usually?"
"I dunno, Ace, how long have you been here-yoi?"
"Bout a year."
"There you go." Marco chuckled, ruffling your hair. "Give it a year."
Everyone laughed as your face fell. It was going to be one long year. But you know what? You didn't mind that. As long as you had Marco with you, you were happy. And the look he gave you said he'd be just as happy with you.
(A/n)
I seriously debated adding more but this seemed like the perfect spot to end it. I didn't want it to be drawn out without any real plot points and I feel like this ends on a good note~
