Chapter 92: Mightatholon, Start!

Between breaks, training, planning, resting, enjoying each other's company and enduring the cold, January sped by fast for the members of House Erebus as they were preparing for the day of the Mightatholon.

The day came: an entire land mass connecting from the campus fields up to the sky had bleachers of the students and faculty lined up with monitors capturing every angle of the event and the attention of the four heirs, who's teammates had all been lifted away by the construction crew.

A bright announcer on a Shugoda hovercraft garnered everyone's attention.

"As you all know, every heir competes in an intense competition to show off their capabilities and growth from the start of the year! With each of their three colleagues supporting them on each lap of the obstacle course, will they prove they will be the generation to end the threat of the Voids?"

The monitor showed all four of the heirs' names and their respective members of their Inner Circle: long lasting or recently recruited, when several people were confused by the sight of a fifth banner emerging alongside them, earning confusion and chatter from several people involved.

"This should be a competition only the heirs to one of the kingdoms can compete in. But Prince Sehki is-"

The announcer was cut short as what seemed to be a meteor falling towards the venue. Video drones caught the footage, spotting a humanoid accelerating towards the venue. A large tornado emerged underneath it's path, and a combination of ice and water exploded the descent into a pile of smoke generating intrigue to see who had crash landed their sight.

The Terra Safety guards were prime and ready to attack, but when the dust settled, they found four individuals were spotted.

The leader walked out, surprising all by removing their jacket, exposing purple cargo shorts with bandages wrapped around his legs, a purple vest embroidered with golden-white buttons underneath a black shirt.

The wrists and fingers were empowered by gauze with armaments around gloves, waving to the audience.

"Sorry for the surprise, but we're going to make the Mightatholon a bit interesting this year."

"Prince Sehki?"

Everyone had several questions, including his teammates, who always removed their garbs. Lorena's hair was covered by her hoodie, wearing regal-styled purple-black leggings with plating on her joints and a giraffe logo across her top.

Candy had on a looser jacket with high-top shoes, a lighter shade of blue and purple across her pants and tops while her hand protectors and shadow-violet shirt contained the symbol of a bear.

Cree's bandana was the only thing tight on him: the dark blue shorts left his scars for the world to see why his clothes contained a holster for his staff on the opposite end of a well designed Ursa Major emblem split down the middle by a spear shape where the zipper would normally be.

The announcer's carrier flew him over to Prince Sehki.

"You're alive? We have so many questions. Where have you been?"

"You could say I've been hiding in plain sight. Long story short, someone was after my life, and I ran away. That was a mistake, so I've been preparing to show them and this world I won't let them break them. Can I borrow the mic?"

"Sure," handing it to him.

"My reputation here hasn't been the most well received. And I blame myself. I didn't take the time to readjust, reconnect, or establish my status to the world. But to face those who rejected me," staring at most of the shocked staff, "those who fear me," looking at the students, "and those I ignored trying to push me in the wrong direction," bowing, "I apologize. Allow me to prove my skills and worth to you today," he begged from the top of his lungs.

What started as silence led to Professor Scaldwave clapping, followed by Lumin and the staff, some students, Sehki's own circle, and comments curious to see what would happen.

"Alright, development team, take his members to their spots on the course," as three users rose them up, guiding them away.

"Perfect. And for my fellow heirs," handing the announcer a note he asked them to read for when the tournament would begin.

Sehki joined the other heirs at the starting line, stretching and ready.

"Taylor, glad to see you're doing better. Rigal, your arm looks healed. Xia, as striking as always."

Barring Ainsley, they were distraught. Xia spoke first.

"You survived? How," she whispered.

"The power of pain. Ainsley, Taylor you found a third person?"

"I didn't need it, but my parents insisted."

"Of course I did after...wait, why is Lorena on your team?"

"And that spear beta from before. No, it couldn't be."

"Ssh, I have a gift for you all."

"The Prince of Umbra has, ah okay! Introducing the heirs of each of the kingdoms!"

"Prominence Phoenix, Empress Xia!"

"Muse of Terra, Lord Ainsley!"

"Stream Dis-Stellar, Prince Taylor!"

"Sky Monarch, Prince Rigal!"

"Obsidian Shadow, Prince Sehki!"

The others turned to him. "You gave us monikers?"

"Yeah! I'll humiliate you all so badly in front of everyone you'll wish you made sure you killed me that night," changing from sinister to optimistic, "but I thought that fit you all so well. Let's do our best out there," smiling at his bullies turned rivals that unnerved.

"Heirs, get ready! On your marks!"

Everyone: from the other students and most of the professors and staff in the crowd, to the kids from the Shugoda slums watching in their schools, to Gako with Yessenia and the rest of the Victory Rider production crew, Madam and her staff from the bistro, and the Planetary Presidents were all watching.

"Get set!"

Xia, Taylor, and Rigal all had their hands ready to blast Sehki despite Ainsley's warnings. He smiled.

"Go!"

He jumped back before the fire, air, and water blast could hit him, jumping off a nearby tree and jumping over their heads with glee, landing into the shadows and running out ahead of them.

The Mightathlon had begun, and he was going to win it all.
