8: My Beautiful Saturday Morning
Lucy
Saturday mornings are peaceful, living objects where everybody gets to sleep in. If you're a student, you have yet another day to start doing your homework. That's what Saturdays are for, cartoons, relaxation, sleeping until noon -
"Lucy!" I groaned again at the intruder of sleep. "Get your ass out of bed! Come on! We have to go somewhere important today!!!"
I rolled over, covering my ears with my blanket. I joined the team yesterday and automatically the next morning three of them is at my window screaming at the top of their lungs for me to wake up. Yeah, well that's no happening.
"You seriously need to get this window fixed," the familiar voice was suddenly beside my bed.
Whipping the blanket away from my face, I gasped when I saw Gray already in the room while Erza is halfway through.
"Anyone can break in at anytime when you're asleep," Erza added, her two feet now flat on the floor. "It's dangerous."
Natsu was the last one in and for the first time all week, none of them are wearing any Fairy Tail FC gear. It's weird not seeing them in the usual warmers. Seeing them look so casual is almost terrifying to say the least.
"You guys are the only ones who would dear break into my house in broad daylight like that," I sighed. "The cops can come at any moment now."
"Ah don't worry about," Natsu waved it off. "Erza knows one of the cops all too well so we always get out of trouble."
"Shut it, Natsu!" Erza snapped. "Or I'll glue it shut for you!"
"Aye ma'am," Natsu shivered immediately.
Well, so much for my Saturday morning, "Where are we going, anyway? Gray said it was important."
"Since you asked," Erza gave me a smug grin. "We're going to get your team mark."
"Team mark?" I asked. "What's a team ma... oh..."
Since it was the first time the Fairy Tail players were showing some skin around me, I did notice the Fairy Tail insignia on their arms. Natsu's was red, Erza's blue, and Gray's a navy dark one. Give me a second here, though...
"You guys want me to get a tattoo...?" I said.
All three nodded like it was the most obvious thing in the world. Natsu smiled, "It doesn't even hurt. They have special tools for FC players so it doesn't hurt as much as well and it's permanent. Unless you switch teams and have to get their insignia instead."
"It is allowed you get one on your arm by the Fiore Fifa Council," Erza explained. "Gray's first one was on his chest which got him in some suspension time so he got one on his arm as well."
"Anywhere on my arm?" I asked.
"Down to your palm," Gray answered. "So hurry up! We don't have all day and there's only one shop in Magnolia that does this kind of tattooing so let's go before it gets too crowded."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'll define sketchy for you. Normal people and dictionary.com would say that sketchy is not very well detailed or something dishonest. Sketchy for me, however, is walking into an underground shop (it's not even above ground) and finding it as dark and gloomy as Dracula's mansion. I had to hold onto Natsu's arm the whole way down until a simple light up sign in purple red, 'Tattoos - We do it all.' I even shivered at the sign.
"What's wrong with you, Luce?" Natsu chuckled at me. "Scared?"
"I'm terrified, alright?" I replied. "Why such a dark place anyway?"
"Because you have entered the other world ~" Natsu made some ghost sounds but I just cupped his mouth in place.
"I hate the other world," I said bluntly before releasing his mouth.
Erza patted my shoulder, "Don't worry about it, Lucy. Just go on in -"
Gray opened the door and our captain pushed me inside, shutting the door behind me. My first instinct was to jump at the door but for some reason, I think my teammates are holding the door shut so I don't chicken out the first second.
"Oh I have a customer," an old squeaky voice scared the living daylights out of me.
The shop was a little lit up but it was still downright scary.
"H-hello?" I shuttered. "I-I'm here for my team mark."
Out from behind a curtain, walked a lady with a giant red cape, wrinkles, and pink hair. What's more surprising is that she's in her sixties probably but she's a foot taller than me. Her eyes were emotionless as well as deadly. I nearly booked out of the place right then and there. Leave it to my crazy teammates to find this place in the first place.
"Makarov said that you'd be coming by soon enough," she spoke in a monotone voice.
"You know Coach?" I asked.
She walked over to a chair and started dusting it, "I've only been marking his team since we were in our teens."
So this old... scary lady is a good friend of Coach Makarov. Interesting.
"Sit down here, child so I can get this over with and you can leave my shop!" She suddenly snapped making me literally fly into the seat without a second thought.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I left the shop of the crazy scary lady as fast as Erza pushed me inside. I walked out of the little tunnel and up the stairs in two seconds flat nearly tripping over myself several times.
We were downtown Magnolia. Businessmen, tourist, and locals were scattered all over the place. Cars honking, buses speeding, cabs resting alongside the streets by meters. Natsu and Gray were sitting on the sidewalk at an empty meter eating some BBQ buns they got at the shop to the left hiding the tunnel leading to the creepy tattoo shop. There's just one thing missing.
"Hey where's Erza?" I asked sitting beside Gray on the sidewalk.
Gray swallowed, "Right when you went in, Erza dragged us out here bought some of these delicious buns and told us to keep this meter open. Apparently she's going to grab her car from her friend's place a few blocks away."
"So she makes us walk the ten miles from my place out here and now she mentions she has a car?" I asked.
Natsu reached into the white paper bag and threw me a bun, "Where she lives, they don't allow cars plus it's so close to school anyway. She doesn't need a car so she parks it at her friend's house where he could use it whenever he wishes."
"Erza's friend is a he?" I asked after my bite. "That's cute."
"You have no idea," Gray smiled.
"Why don't you guys have your driver's license yet?" I asked.
Gray sighed, "Because Erza doesn't want us to. She'd rather drive us around than have us drive ourselves."
"She likes being a chauffeur?"
"That's not it..." Natsu looked at his bun. "More of a -"
Honking from a car directly in front of us cut my teammate off. We all looked up and saw one of the shiniest dark red Tesla Model S parked at the traffic light at the end of the street.
The window rolled down and I nearly rolled over at the driver.
"Get in, guys," Erza winked. "Lucy gets shotgun."
We were on our feet within seconds running towards the car before the light turned green. I slid in followed closely by Natsu sliding all the way over and Gray finally closing the door. The interior is just as cool as the outside.
"This is awesome Erza," I said, my eyes wandering around and my hands buckling myself in.
The leather seats were vanilla as well as black around. A giant GPS attached to Erza's iPhone was already blasting some type of music not in English.
"You should hang on tight, Lucy," Gray tapped my shoulder. "Be prepared."
"Prepared?" I looked at him. "Prepared for what?"
"This," Just as the light turned green, I could visibly see Erza's right leg lift up and slam down on the gas pedal, sending the car surging forward.
I tried grabbing onto something but these damn new cars don't have any handles! I could only hug the side of the seats so I didn't go flying out the window if something were to happen. But at this rate... I think I'm going to die folks.
Horns blared at Erza's very reckless driving as she turned, no drifted (yes she flipped drifted) around the corner at the light. This chick is beyond crazy!
I caught sight of Gray looking annoyed as ever but clinging onto dear life. I almost forgot about Natsu's motion sickness because I was beyond shock when I saw him trying to open the window with a blue face.
Erza paid her friends no mind as she sped down the side streets of downtown Magnolia. I tried to tell her to slow down but I didn't want her to lose any concentration. We're all going to lose our lives at any minute now, let's not speed it up.
The beautiful sound of police sirens finally drew our captain back to her senses. She turned into an alley and stopped, the MPD car came strolling in afterwards. I looked through the rearview mirror. There seems to be two guys in the car, both had sunglasses one with the cop hat.
"Well it's about damn time," Gray said, looking behind him.
Wait, was Erza trying to get arrested by the cops or something?!
I watched as the two cops walked out of their cruiser heading towards Erza's window. But instead of leaving her hands on the steering wheel like any other normal person would in this situation, she opened the window and unbuckled her seat belt. Uh, uh what does she think she's doing? She can and she will get a gun pointed at her face for that!
I watched the taller cop glance out in the street once before finally arriving at the window. I swore, I could see Erza give him the warmest smile on Earth but the other officer was at my window tapping at it. I slid it slowly, arms raised.
"Uh, Erza."
"You got a car fully loaded, too Sister," the cop took off his sunglasses revealing dark coal eyes. "They could've gotten hurt. Who's this cutie? I haven't seen her around before."
"You know, Erza," the officer at Erza's window took off his hat, revealing unique spiky blue hair sleeked back. "If you needed something, you could've just called, right? I might be working but my cell is on."
He removed his sunglasses revealing warm brown eyes shining into Erza's. A weird birthmark around his right eye. Who is this guy?
But the better question is are we not arrested or something?
"You know that's too mainstream for me," Erza crossed her arms. "This is much fun than picking up a phone and holding your speed dial."
"Jellal?! Is that you?!" Natsu suddenly shouted behind Erza, catching everybody's attention. "Is you the guardian angel here to release me of this vehicle?"
"Uh," the officer, whom I assume was Jellal, blinked.
I also learned that Natsu cannot form 21st century sentences when he is motion sick.
"If are you," Natsu started than shouted at the top of his lungs. "Get me out the hell out of this fuck machine!"
