Lucy

Right when the first whistle blew, I knew something was wrong.

I stole the ball from one of the Phantom players a little too easily. I know for a fact that their skill level is the same as Fairy Tail's yet their pressure and defence was way too slow to be on the same level.

But I wasn't worried about that too much.

I passed the ball out wide, stretching the opposition. It was Jellal who went out wide, running alongside Natsu as I cut back into the center. I watched the officer easily weave through the defenders. Natsu sprinted forward just as Jellal passed it into the space out in front.

"Lucy!" The winger yelled.

'There she is folks! The newest member of the Fairy T family. A stiker with a pretty face. What are your thoughts on her, Kim?'

'Well I can't really say, Jack. This is the first time I've ever seen her. Fairy Tail can only hope she's good.'

I wanted to shout at them to fight me! Seriously, I'm not the center of attention right now. Natsu is about to make one of his killer passes.

'There he is! Number 10 Dragneel getting himself set up for the cross. Let's just see what this striker can do!'

I calculated the ball right when Natsu's left leg slammed it dead center. Already, most of Phantom Lord was crowding into the penalty area, ready to clear it. Gray was running in as well, just in case he was needed as a rebound.

The ball was exactly where I wanted.

I jumped, ready to just simply volley it towards the goalie.

But...

I felt someone grab my cleats and brought me down before ramming his whole bigger body into mines, sending me flying to the side. The ball rolled untouched by anybody else out behind the goal line.

The refs blew the whistle but I could barely hear it or see anything. Stars filled my vision as my body was quivering from what just happened.

"What the hell, Ref?!" It was Natsu. "That should've been a penalty."

"I don't want to hear it, Fairy," Victor snapped. "It's a goal kick. Decision is final."

Cana's and Erza's face filled my vision, their faces written with worry.

"I-I'm fine just shock," I muttered.

"Do you need a sub?" Erza asked.

I shook my head. It's only been six minutes in, there is no way I'm giving in. We need to win, for Levy and the rest of our injured teammates.

And for my mother.

Cana and Erza looked relieved when I started sitting up, they pulled me to my feet using my two arms.

'I'm confused, Jack. That was clearly a foul and a free kick should've been rewarded to Fairy Tail.'

'I am just as confused, Kim. Victor is the sharpest refs Fiore has to offer. I wonder what is going on.'

Good, so we weren't the only ones feeling a little betrayed with the calling.

Natsu showed up in front of me, "You alright, Luce? Not hurt anywhere?"

I shook my head with a smile, "I'm a little shaken up but I'm fine."

Gray patted my back as we started backing up.

"You should be more careful blondie," I whipped around at the source of the voice. "You could've gotten badly hurt gi hi."

I bit my lip in frustration but I knew better than to argue with the captain. Especially since the referee is already being bias against Fairy Tail.

The goalie raised a hand before kicking the ball well into the air and over our heads. I started making a slow jog back towards our side of the field in case I'm needed for a random last line of defense.

Suddenly, someone kicked me square across my shin guards. I winced at the pain of the collision just as I looked up. Gajeel's almost evil smirking face looked at me before he sprinted forward.

Shit...

I ran after him. I heard the sound of the ball being kicked up field. Towards our goal and saw the back of the Captain's head as he rushed down the field to get the ball. I was right on his tail, shouting to the line of defence. Erza was with me until one of the big guys in the midfield ram himself into her, sending her back.

I was too busy watching the illegal hit that I didn't noticed the same exact thing happening to me before I was on my back, my limbs sprawled out.

'Kim, I don't know what game these refs are watching but it's defiantely not this soccer game.'

'They got the wrong football, Jack.'

"Hey Ref!" Gray snapped as he started helping Erza up. "This is soccer, not damn American football! Open your eyes!"

Natsu pulled me up, made sure I was alright, before storming over to to the Victor, "Two of the Phantom people just literally tackled two of our players! Do you fucken need glasses to see?!"

I couldn't see what was going on by our goal because of how far away I was. But that didn't matter, Victor blew the whistle anyway.

He reached into his brest pocket so only one thing could happen. I ran over to Natsu just as Victor raised the yellow card yelling, "Inapprioate language to the ref number 10, Fairy Tail!"

I knew Salamander is going to throw a punch. Even if Victor is being a son of a bitch, we can't afford Natsu getting suspended for hitting a ref.

"Why you," I could hear Natsu growl. The referee glared at Natsu, daring him to attack.

I reached them just in time to pull Natsu back with at back hug, "We're sorry, Ref. It won't happen again."

Natsu's muscle suddenly tensed under my touch.

Victor met my eyes before he looked away. He blew his whistle for a goal kick, something finally in our favor.

"Lucy," I could feel Natsu relaxing a bit.

It didn't take me longer than two seconds to realize the position we were in.

'Awww look at that little love session between Salmander and the new striker, aren't they quite a couple, Jack.'

My cheeks started turning red just as I released Natsu.

'I'll say. What better way to hold back your man than that. Maybe sometimes you can do that to me, Kim.'

'You're being very delusional, Jack...'

"They looooooooooove each other," I heard Mira giggle on the side, my whole face heating up. "It's so cute."

"Oh umm," I started backing away. "Be careful, don't do anything stupid again."

"Lucy..." But I was already retreating back to stand in front of Phantom's line of defense. Erza caught my eyes and she signaled that the two of us needed to talk
