Promise

Moon's eyes open and he groans as he wakes up from an incessant beeping noise coming from somewhere. He glares into the empty room, trying to find out where it's coming from before freezing.

Oh. Right. It's coming from him. Systems fully awake, an alert pops up, warning him of his low battery percentage. He quietly gets up, only now realizing he fell asleep with Codie on her bed. His hat lies on the floor, having fallen off during slumber.

He smiles down at the still sleeping girl, replaying last night in his head. The beeping keeps up its barrage of ear-piercing torture, so Moon hurriedly exits the room, lest he wakes up the girl. He checks the time, finding it to only be six in the morning. 'Good, Sunny gets up at seven...' Moon notes, sneaking back into his room.

He climbs into bed and plugs himself in. The lunar bot figures he could get about half charge before he's forced up by his brother. Speaking of, how is he supposed to bring last night up? Should he wait for Codie to tell him? Would Codie want him to tell the sunny animatronic?

Or...? Moon smirks, ideas going through his head. He'll talk to Codie later.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Codie awakens to a stomach ache. She groans and sits up. The ginger quickly throws on some pajamas and trudges to the bathroom. Confirming her fears, Codie passes another kidney stone, crying out and biting her tongue.
She gags at the metallic taste of blood as she finishes up.
The door suddenly shoves open with force, startling the girl as her hands jostle and make a mess of water from the sink. Moon stands in the doorway, eyes wide and a cable sticking out of his side.
The two stare wide-eyed at each other before he asks, "What happened? Why'd you cry in pain?" His eyes go up and down her body, probably scanning her ten times over.
Codie, still taken aback with surprise, slowly washes her hands, all the while keeping eye contact with Moon, pointedly not responding. She calmly dries her hands while Moon throws his hands up, still worried.
She eyes the cord, then his face, back to the cord, and then groans. "Moon...I know we just..." Codie whispers, "confessed last night...but...you do not need to barge into the bathroom. No matter what noises you may hear..." she said slowly as if talking to a first grader.
Moon looks around as if guilty, but not really seeing what he did wrong, nodding anyway.
"Were..." Codie points to the protruding cable, "...were you asleep?"
Moon looks down, then back to Codie. "...Um...yes..."
"Ugh," Codie groans but laughs afterwards. "Go back to sleep and charge, you weirdo! I passed another kidney stone, but I'm okay now. I'll probably ask Sun to put his hand on my stomach though... So much better than any heating pad, I swear..." she trails off with a blush.
The nighttime attendant blinks a few times. "R-right... Speaking of Sunny...?" he silently asks Codie to answer the unspoken question.
She startles back into focus, her blush deepening. She chews on her finger, "Oh! Right... Oh man... I was half asleep last night, it was so much easier to do..." Moon chuckles at her, backing up from the doorway as she moves forward.
"I had an idea if you'd like to hear?" Moon speaks up, taking her hand and dragging her back to his room.
Codie goes silent and then panics. "He's only in the kitchen, I'm sure he heard what we said already, though!" The bot takes both hands.
"Luckily, he's on the porch watering his plants. No eavesdropping from him, promise. Now would you like to hear my plan?"
"Plan?" Codie repeats, an eyebrow raising. "You're gonna be devious, aren't you?" Moon smirks in response, giving Codie all she needs to know. "You're evil! Poor Sunny has to live with you and your pranks!" A beat. Codie leans in. "What's the plan?"
"Well, a prank wouldn't be very nice, Star...I'm not that cruel," Moon faux pouts, turning his head and crossing his arms. Codie just rolls her eyes, not about to give him the satisfaction of 'begging' his forgiveness.
"Stoppit, Moonie. Sun's supposed to be the dramatic one."
"Alright, alright...you know us too well," he turns back, patting her gently on the head, "So anyway, I was thinking we could..." Codie leans closer as Moon relays his idea, whispering in her ear.
"What?" She leans back, "Nuh-uh! I don't wanna do that!" Her cheeks flare up, reaching all the way up to her ears. Moon pouts. "You just want me to be all lovey-dovey on you."
Moon looks up at the ceiling, his hand extended with his palm facing upwards. "Well, yes."
"Moon!" Codie laughs, shoving him slightly. He dramatically falls back onto the bed with an 'oomf!' His cap falls over his eyes.
He chuckles, "Don't you want to see Sunny jealous over you? I can assure you, he might just explode and confess, himself." He moves his night cap up his head, eyeing his human.
Codie narrows her eyes back, staring into his unwavering ones. "I-I dunno..." Moon sits up, becoming serious.
"Hey, if you're not comfortable with it, it's okay. I shouldn't have asked you."
Codie groans, "It's just, this is all still new to me! I don't know how to have a boyfriend, let alone two..." Moon's eyes widen and Codie realizes what she said. "Er-uh! I mean...um, shoot..." She smacks her face.
"Is...is that what you want me to be?" Moon's voice is soft and unsure.
Codie hides her face, looking away and playing with the hem of her pajama top. "I mean...yeah...both of you if...if you want...?"
Moon grins, a light blue dusting his cheeks. 'She actually wants to be ours...' He surprises her by suddenly grabbing her shoulder and bringing her in for a hug.
"Ah!" she exclaims. She feels him rub his face against the top of her head.
"I would love that... And Sunny would too, if he knew what happened last night." She can just see him smiling teasingly in her hair.
"I knoooooww," Codie groans, "I'll tell him...maybe..." She removes herself from his grip and looks up at him. "Do you think he'll just confess instead?"
"Do you want me to push him to do it?" Moon asks, tilting his head. Codie doesn't answer, clearly thinking on it. "I'll do it. Right now." Codie stares up at him, an eyebrow raised. Moon holds in a chuckle since she doesn't know he can literally ping Sun and tell him at a moment's notice. 'Hm, might have to tell her about that ability we have soon...'
"Uhhh...Okay? I guess?" At that, Moon's grin gets impossibly wider. He's so glad he went through with confessing last night, because now, this is sure to be entertaining.
"Why don't you go get dressed, hm?" Moon stands up, guiding her out of the room. After Codie's door shuts with a click, Moon strolls into the living room. Sun is still on the balcony watering, though he looks just about done.
Moon silently pings his other half. "Sun."
The bot's rays twitch, indicating him hearing Moon. "Yes, Brother?"
"Go confess to Codie."
Sun almost drops his watering can, struggling to catch it and spilling some water. "Eh!?" He stares at Moon with wide eyes through the backdoor. He places his tool down and comes inside, wiping his hand on his gardening apron he loves. "What do you mean?!" he shouts in a whisper.
"I mean," Moon jabs his thumb behind his shoulder, smirking, "Go confess to our Starlight and we can live happily ever after."
"But-b-but why right now?! Did she say something?" Sun stutters, still in shock at his brother's command.
"No, but I have a good feeling." Sun fidgets in place, unsure, so Moon adds, "How about this- I'll confess to her right after you do! Sound good?"
"Are-are you sure, Moonie? What if she doesn't like me? Or both of us?" Even though Sun's eyes are blank, Moon can see the anxiety and trepidation in them.
'Damn, am I being too much?' His wires tighten up in guilt as he thinks about how just yesterday his brother was trying so hard to get him to be more optimistic about telling her and how all signs pointed to her returning their feelings. And now, he's a big ball of nerves, pessimism, and fear.
The lunar animatronic frowns, rethinking his whole plan. He replays Codie's confession in his head, watching how it played out. He can't stand his brother feeling this way, so he trashes his previous plan.
[Send Memory File to Sun?]
[Yes]
[Memory File sent]
Sun perks up, noticing the sudden file in his vision. He looks at Moon with curiosity. Moon shrugs. "Just open it. Then talk to her." He watches Sunny's eyes go dark, opting to stay and watch his reactions.
While Sun watches, his frown slowly grows into a bright smile and his rays spin at an escalating speed. Moon smiles at the sight. This. This was much better than his earlier plan.
When Sun's eyes come back on, he shakes in excitement, flapping his hands and giggling to himself. "That was real, right, Moonie? Rightrightright? You wouldn't fake that, right?" Moon just gives him a reassuring look. "Oh my-oh my! Codie loves us back! She does she does! Wanna hug her and never let her go! Wait!" Sun frowns and looks around. He listens but doesn't hear much within the apartment's walls, worrying him.
"What's wrong?" Moon asks.
"Where is she? Where's she gone? She can't leave! I have to accept her confession! I can't believe I was asleep during it!"
"She's in her room, Sun-" Moon doesn't finish his sentence before a blur of yellow zooms by him.
"Sunbite!" Sun bursts into her room in his excitement. Codie had been lying in bed on her phone when he did, startling her into a sitting position. She opens her mouth to ask what was going on but can't make a sound before she is engulfed in a bone crushing hug.
"Ack! Sunny! What-?" Codie wonders if Moon might have straight up told the guy.
"Oh I can't believe I missed out last night! Moonie showed me all that happened! I love you, too, Sunbite! Sososososososo much! You mustn't worry about choosing! We both want you!"
Codie supposes this is much easier than her mustering up the courage to go through a second confession. She squeezes him back. "I'm so glad you two feel the same, Sunny! I'm just worried I won't be... very good girlfriend material."
Sun gasps, pushing her forward to look into her green eyes. "Girlfriend? Yes! You're our girlfriend now? Ohohohohoh! That means I'm your...boyfriend!?" Codie smiles, nodding in confirmation. "Don't worry! You're already the bestest friend and human! Just keep being yourself, Lovely!"
Codie whines in embarrassment; the feels already stabbing her straight through the heart. And with two of them? Oh my, Codie's in for a ride.
"Me and Moonie will be the best boyfriends, okay? We love you sososososososo much! We'll take care of you and-" Sun continues to babble about loving her, rocking her back and forth in his grip.
"Okay, okay you big goof..." she giggles in his arms, "now, let's lay down...I need your heating pad of a hand on my belly." The sunny bot's eyes grow wide.
Codie hears a chuckle from the doorway but can't see as the former nap time attendant watches them with a fond smile.
~~~~~~~~~~

It's been two days since the three confessed and Codie anxiously waits for a call from Lois. Chrissy had let her know ahead of time that she should be calling and the ginger has been sitting around doing nothing but lie in wait.

When her phone suddenly rings, Codie freaks out, getting up in haste and scrambling for the cell. She checks the I.D. but groans when it's not from her work. She flops back onto her bed and lets loose a long, drawn out sigh.

'Wait, should I have answered that?' A beat. 'Naaaahhh...'

A light rapping gains her attention and she cranes her neck to watch her door open. The sunny rays of Sun poke through. "Starshine...are you alright? You've been in here all day."

Truth be told, Codie didn't want to be in the same room as them when Lois called and she's been smothered by the two ever since she confessed. More so by Sun, but Moon has been more touchy-feely.

Not that she doesn't like them loving her but the girl is human and she does require some me time. And breathing room. Animatronics don't get the 'I need to breathe so don't squeeze the life out of me for the love of-'.

"Yeah, Sunbeam," the ginger replies, "just waiting for an important call."

Sun makes a face in recognition. "Oh! Right, from your job! Well, hopefully you'll get it back! Linda can't have that much of an influence! She was totally in the wrong!"

Codie drops her head back down and rolls her eyes. She's pretty sure Linda will have more than an influence but it remains to be seen until the fateful call.

As Sunny slowly backs out of the room, he tells her, "I'll let Moon know so he doesn't disturb you! Do tell us when she calls, though!" Codie silently gives a thumbs up before hearing her door click shut.

Only after an agonizingly long 15 minutes does Codie's cell ring again. She sporadically picks it up, heart thumping loudly. "Hi, Sweetie." Lois' tone of voice does nothing for her anxiety. "So... You know I believe, you, right?"

'Uh oh...' Codie sighs into the phone, "Yeah...?"

"Unfortunately we don't have security cameras inside the shop...only outside. It's Linda's and Jason's word against yours. She got a lawyer, too." Codie's heart drops. Lois sighs high-pitched, "Her conditions were to fire you and she won't sue. I hope you can understand, hun."

"T-that's it? I'm fired...?" she asks, almost resigned to the cruel fate.

"I'm sorry, Codie. We can't afford to get sued. Between her lawyer and a witness in Jason... I had to agree to her terms." Codie bites her lip. "But that doesn't mean I didn't make my own as well." At this, Codie perks up. What does she mean? "My terms were banning Jason and Linda should you not be re-hired. We also got security cams for the inside."

"But..." Codie rails off.

"You and your jester friends are welcomed at any time. And don't tell anyone...but you could still use your employee discount if you'd like!" Lois wishes Codie the best, apologizing once more before hanging up, having to get back to work.

With a moan, Codie flings her phone onto her bed and pinches her eyes in between her nose. 'I will not cry...I will not cry...' she repeats to herself. 'It's just a dumb job... I can always get another...'

The ginger figures the next thing to do is tell her...boyfriends. 'Gosh, that's still so weird to think about...' She heads out into the living room to find the two arguing over game show answers.

"Top answer is library, who would bring their date to a library?" Moon says resolutely, gesturing to the screen. Codie stands behind the couch as Family Feud plays.

"Nuh-uh! Libraries can be a nice spot for first dates! I think it's the movie theater!" Sun retorts, eyes closed with his chin up.

At the same time, both jesters' heads turn 180 degrees. Two pairs of eyes land on Codie's as she jumps back in fright. "What do you think, Star?" Moon asks, narrowing his eyes to his left at Sunny.

Taken aback, Codie answers with a timid, "Uh...movie theater? But both are kinda bad."

"Aha! Wait what? Come on!" Sun says in triumph at first then deflates. She walks around the couch to join them, both immediately scooting over to have her sit in the middle. Sun mutes the TV and turns to her. "Enough of that, did your boss call?"

Moon quickly begins petting her hair, the action being his favorite thing to do at the moment. "Ugh..." Codie leans back. "Yes...I got fired..." She channels her anger towards the situation rather than sadness, as tears won't do much good.

Moon's hand stills. "What? How? She knows Linda faked it and you put the sign down, right?" The lunar bot is absolutely appalled, outraged that her boss would side with Linda.

"Yeah, she believed me but since she had no cameras, it's Linda and Jason's word against mine. That...bitch even got a lawyer! What did I ever do to her!? She's only ever had it out for me!" Sun and Moon frown down at Codie, staying silent and letting the poor girl vent her frustrations.

They blame themselves, too, knowing that Linda hates Codie because Codie sides with the animatronics. "We're sorry, Sunflower..." Sun consoles, giving her a side hug as Moon resumes playing with her red hair.

"On the bright side..." Moon adds, "You've plenty of time to stay here in our arms. What more could you need, hmm?" Codie deadpans into his ruby eyes, his smirk earning a small smile from her.

Codie calms down and unclenches the fists she didn't know she clenched. "You guys are so needy!" she faux whines.

"Needy for you!" Sunny coos, burying his face into Codie's neck. She begins squealing and trying to move away, his face tickling her. Moon holds her in place with a big grin.

"Stop!" Codie writhes, face red. "Please! Mercy!" Sun finally relents but keeps himself buried in the crook of her neck. The ginger attempts to regain her breath. The clicking and whirring of Sun's mechanisms so close to her ears ground her.

"Would a visit to Chica Cakes make you feel better, Star?" Her eyes light up at the suggestion as she silently nods the best she can with Sun's rays in her face. Moon stands up. "Perfect. I believe Chica has a special going on, too." Codie attempts to join Moon in standing but can't. Sun's grip on her waist holds her down.

"Sun-eeee!" she whines, patting his back and playing with his neck ruffles. "Lemme uuup! I want caaake!" Moon watches with amusement as the solar bot shakes his head no. "Ack!" Codie cries out when her rear end suddenly lifts high into the air.

"Must not let you go! I'll carry you!" Sun exclaims, holding her close like a child. Codie rolls her eyes. No point in fighting Sun. Moon laughs as he watches Codie resign to her fate, laying her head on Sunny's shoulder as he carries her out the door.

"I'll get the keys, then..." he chuckles.

~~~~~~~
"Chicaaaaa!" Codie yells out excitedly as she pushes open the doors to her bakery. She immediately shrinks in on herself, cheeks reddening, as customers and a worker that is not Chica standing at the counter stare at her.
Moon chuckles and rubs her head, walking in front to lead.
"S-sorry..." the ginger hides her face in Sunny's side. Sun coos at her, entwining his large hand with her petite one, giving it a comforting squeeze and walking with her.
"Hi! Welcome in! I take it you guys know Chica?" The worker lady smiles at them while they walk up. Recognition crosses her eyes and she gasps. "Wait! You're Sun and Moon! So you must be Codie!"
Moon smiles and raises a brow. "Is Chica blabbing about us again?"
Suddenly, a flash of white and pink bursts through from the back. An eager animatronic throwing her hands down on the counter with pink dusting her cheeks. "Maybeeee!" Codie, letting go of her earlier embarrassment, giggles and walks around the counter to give the chicken a hug. She returns it, gripping the human tight. "Ooooo! Howdy Chickadee! How are you guys?"
At that, the trio's smiles drop. "Ugh." Codie rolls her eyes. "I lost my job because of some lady who has it out for me. But..." Codie looks at her two boyfriends, "it's whatever. More time to spend with these weirdos."
Moon grins at that while Sun blushes, wiggling in happiness.
"That's awful, Hun! Well if I had a spot open, I'd hire you! But..." Chica looks to her new hire of just over a week. Codie waves her hands.
"No! It's okay! So who is this new worker of yours?" Codie directs her eyes to the girl. "I love your hair, by the way."
The worker blushes, spinning her finger in her curly blonde hair. "I'm Liz! Sorry about your job. And yes! Chica's told me so much! It's great to finally meet you guys!"
Sun holds his hand out, earning a shake from Liz. "Yesyesyes! You, too, friend! You and Codie would surely get along! Curly cuties that's what you are!"
Codie splutters, pushing at Sun's waist but he doesn't budge. "Sun!" She laughs at Liz. "Sorry about him, he's a goof. "
"That's okay! Any friend of Chica's is a friend of mine. I'd love to hang out!" Codie agrees with a nod of her head.
"How about you take your break, Liz?" Chica suggests, "Go chat together!" Liz nods and takes Codie's hand, Sun quickly and begrudgingly lets go, and she drags her into the back. "So, you two, holding hands?" Chica asks slyly, eyeing Sun's former occupied hand.
Moon blushes and looks away. Sun nods vigorously, his rays spinning. "Yes! We're together now!" Moon smacks his brother's shoulder. "Ow! Moonie!"
"You don't just say that out loud!"
"Aww!" Chica gushes. "Is Moon shy? That's so cute! I'm so happy for you three!"
"Yeah, yeah," Moon grumbles. "We came to get something to cheer Codie up from losing her job. Seems your new little worker might just help, too."
"I know just the dessert!" Chica goes rummaging in the display case and continues, "Yeah, Liz is such a good worker. I was nervous about hiring somebody but she came in and was just perfect! She's amazing at baking, too! Especially cupcakes! Aha!" She comes back out and holds up a pink frosted chocolate cupcake.
Sun's eyes gleam as he leans in, almost drooling. "Ooo! Looks scrumptious!"
Chica swipes it back, narrowly dodging Sun's grabby fingers. "Nuh uh! This is for Codie, silly Sundrop!" Sun has the gall to look guilty.
He rubs his neck. "Right...sorry, heh."
Chica huffs. "I'll see if Liz can make more and save one for you two." She heads into the back to give Codie her dessert.
The boys watch her leave, then turn to each other. "You think she'll be okay?" Moon questions, slightly concerned for his human's mental state.
"Of course!" Sun waves him off. "It's just a job! Think about it," Sun pulls Moon close, "She'll be near us more, no more worrying about her when she's there, and she won't be near Shen!"
Moon hums, thinking about it. It does sound nicer when she doesn't have to go to work. They'd be able to protect her better, too. "I suppose..."
Sun smacks his back, staggering the unsuspecting lunar bot. "Quit worrying so much, Moonpie!"
A big green animatronic suddenly comes through the front doors. He groans, "Aw what are you two nerds doin' here?"
Both jesters turn and frown in distaste at the sight of Monty. "Who knew Monty the Gator had such a sweet tooth?" Moon bites back.
He growls, poking Moon's chest. "I'll have you know, Chica makes the best damn desserts!" He harrumphs. The boys shake their heads.
"Alright. You got us there." Sun agrees.
Monty lowers his glasses, peering around. "Where's your doll?" Sun gasps in offense while Moon scoffs.
The lunar bot folds his arms. "Roommate. She's our roommate. Humans are not toys. Though it's not like you'd know anything about respecting humans."
Monty copies him. "Hey, I can respect humans just fine! Doll is just...something I call girls sometimes, okay?" Monty looks off in...embarrassment?
The brothers share a look. Is Monty being shy? With them?
"She's in the back with the new worker! Chica's tryna set them up." Sun explains excitedly, happy for her to get more friends as long as they aren't boys.
The gator's eyes widened, shock and confusion wracking his body. "S-set them up? Like datin' and junk!?"
Moon narrows his own eyes, now very confused. 'Why the hell would he even care? Wait...' Sun starts blabbing innocently, not realizing what Monty meant by setting up. Moon watches as soon as Sunny explains, how the gator's shoulders visibly relax.
"Hey, shut up a minute."
Sun gasps, "Moon! Rude! What?"
"Idiot's totally smitten for the new girl. Look at him."
Sun stops and analyzes Monty's posture and movements. "OH! That's so cute! Monty's in loooove! Just like us!"
"Psh," Moon chuckles, "It's Monty. He was probably dared or locked in a bet or something..." Moon rolls his eyes, not believing for one second the unruly beast could fall in love.
"Oi!" Monty clenches his fists. "Would you two weirdos stop talking to each other in yer heads for two seconds!" He's always hated when they'd do that. The two stop and have the gall to look sheepish yet smug at the same time. Before Monty could ask, the three girls come back out.
"Howdy Monty! Didn't expect ya today!" Chica greets.
Moon smirks. "Does that mean she expects you lot on different days?" he teases. Monty growls at him before Liz laughs and he stops, straightening up.
"Would you like your usual, Monty?" The trio plus Chica watch with astonishment as Monty actually stutters.
"U-uh, yes! Yeah. The usual."
The animatronics all share a knowing look. Codie speaks up to her boys.
"Hey guys! That cupcake was amazing! I heard you wanted it, Sunny." Codie sticks her tongue out at him.
He returns the gesture and Moon laughs at the two. "Well, we should probably head back home!" Sunny tells Chica, deciding for the rest of them. Codie deflates.
"Aww..." Moon puts a hand on the small of her back and leads her away.
"Starlight. Let's leave those two alone, hmm?" She notices the smirk on his face and narrows her eyes.
"What's going on?" she asks with suspicion.
"Sweetheart, you really are oblivious to love," is all Moon says back, leading her out the door. Codie blushes and splutters.
~~~~~~~~

Codie stands in the kitchen, trying not to completely ruin dinner. She wanted to make her boys something nice and told them to come back home around 6. Well, it's 6 and they should be back any second and the whole kitchen is in disarray.

She swears she's not this bad at cooking. But the thing she wanted to cook, well, she's never made before.

The ginger lifts the pan on the burner just as the jesters walk in the door. When she does, a big flame erupts from it, making Codie jump back.

"We're home-" Sun cuts himself off as the sight of fire burns in his eyes. He freezes in his spot. His fans begin working overtime and he can't seem to move.

"Shoot!" Codie yells, trying to calm the flame. Moon sprints to the kitchen and quickly puts it out, turning the dial and turning off the stove all together. "Thanks," Codie breathes. She then notices the solar animatronic still standing in his spot. "Sun?"

Moon's eyes droop in sadness. "It's not your fault, Starlight..." is all he says, placing a hand on her shoulder.

She turns her neck to look up at him. "What do you mea-?" Sun suddenly bursts out of the doorway and into his room. He curls up in the corner of the closet. "Sun!" Codie calls after him, about to chase him but is stopped by Moon's grip.

"Sorry, Star. There's not much you can do when he gets like this. Best leave him for now." Codie doesn't understand, wracking her brain trying to make sense of what she did. Seeing her inner turmoil, Moon explains. "Sun is very scared of fire... Back in the pizza plex... After Gregory freed us and Vanessa, a fire erupted. We aren't sure how, Gregory doesn't like to talk about it."

"Sun had this protocol, rule, that wouldn't permit him to leave the daycare. I did...but when the fire reached the daycare...it was too bright to let me out. We couldn't leave. I tried to override Sun's protocol. I tried to talk him into leaving, begged him. He couldn't do it, Starlight." Moon wipes his eyes, hating re-living that night but wanted to let his love know.

"I-I had no idea..." Codie sniffs, feeling the tears building up.

"Our body had suffered numerous burns. I went offline from having been active most of the night stalking Gregory. Sunny was alone in the fire... Now anytime he sees fire he just...freezes. I can't do anything to help him, it's like he just shuts everything out."

"Like a panic attack..." Codie surmises. Though, this might be worse. "PTSD?" Moon hums.

"Most likely... I just wish I could help him through it..." Before Moon could say anything else, Codie rushes out of the room. He sighs and begins cleaning up the kitchen.

Codie finds Sun in the back corner of their closet, all lights turned off. "Sunny..." She approaches him, making sure to watch for any sign of discomfort from her presence. Seeing none, she takes a seat next to him.

He makes no sound, the only noise coming from him is his inner mechanics. She opts not to speak, instead, just laying her head on his arm and linking her fingers in one of his hands.

After about ten minutes, Sun's eyes begin to focus, moving around and looking at his surroundings. "M'sorry, Sunny." Codie says, startling him. He looks down at their interlocked hands. "I'm here for you..."

He blinks away tears and rests his face on top of Codie's head, breathing in her scent. "Let's..." his voice is hoarse, "let's get so-some take-takeout, hmm?"

Not expecting that, Codie snorts, looking up to see a timid smile on Sun's face. "Yeah...okay," she giggles. She grabs hold of his cheeks and pulls him close. Sun's eyes widened at the action.

Confident, she places a kiss on his nose.

~~~~~~~~~
Moon is forever grateful Codie was able to help Sunny when he couldn't. He all too happily went out to get takeout once the two walked out of the room, hand in hand, and rambling about wings.
But, when Moon walked out the door, he got a ping from his brother. "Sh-she kissed me! Moonie! Kissed!"
"What!?" Moon had half a mind to turn around and walk back in.
"On the nose! She was so sweet!" The lunar bot can hear the love in his voice. He sighs dejectedly.
"Damn, I want a kiss..." he mumbles to himself.
~~~~~

"Where's Mooooooon?" Codie whines to Sun, her tummy grumbling in hunger.

"Hmmm..." Sun smiles and looks up to the ceiling. He's walking up the steps right now!"

"Oh. Good." The ginger takes a deep breath. "MOOOOOON!"

The lunar animatronic hears his Starlight call out to him as he takes the last step to their door. Confused, he opens it and comes inside, a paper bag with takeout in one hand. He finds his brother on the couch with a struggling Codie in his grip.

"Moonieeee!" Codie cries, attempting to jump out of his arms.

"Wah! Hey!" Sun struggles to keep the girl on his lap as she struggles to get out.

Moon keeps his eyes on the two as he sets the keys down and places the food on the dining table. "What...?"

"He hasn't let me go since I kissed him! Help meeee!" Moon guffaws, leaning on the table and crossing his arms.

"I don't know, Starlight. This is pretty entertaining. What do I get out of helping you?" Both Codie and Sun stop moving with shock. Is he asking what they think he's asking?!

"I'll uh- I'll let you win in Mario Kart?" Codie tries with a wry smile. She can feel her hope shrink into nothing as she watches him put a hand on his chin faux thinking about her offer.

"Hmmm, I don't know, Nova, are you sure it isn't me letting you win when we play?" Codie wheezes in disbelief.

"What! No that can't be! I'm a Mario Kart champ! No way you just let me win! Come ooooon!" She keeps up the effort of escaping Sun's grasp but he doesn't have to do much to keep her there.

Moon lifts his hands up into the air and takes a seat, diving into the takeout bag. "Ah well, I suppose I could get started on these delicious wings..."

Codie begins to pout and debates on tearing up just to be let go. Though Sun doesn't see her face as he's currently buried in her neck and leaving tiny little kisses everywhere. She whines for her freedom, debating if it's worth it to give Moon what he wants in exchange for food.

After a few agonizing minutes of Moon making sounds of delight while eating, Codie gives in. "Fine! Please just get Sun off me! I'm so hungry!" Moon smirks, wiping his hands and standing up.

"Sure thing, Star. Sun, let the poor thing go." His brother refuses, shaking his head. Moon sighs and approaches, holding his hand out for Codie to grab. She does and he lifts her up and out of Sun's lap, earning a whine from the solar bot.

He carries her in his arm over to the dinner table, sitting down and putting her in his lap instead. "Really?" She deadpans before reaching for a chicken wing.

"Ah-ah." Moon intercepts her, intertwining his hand with hers. Codie pouts, knowing what he wants. She puffs up her cheeks and grabs hold of his cheeks just like she did Sunny's. His eyes widened, not expecting her to actually go through with his request.

"Did you know you had itty-bitty little freckles?" she whispers, staring into his eyes. "They're like a million little constellations...beautiful..." The deep blue color that seeps into his cheeks make it hard to see them anymore so Codie leans in and places a sweet little peck on his nose.

After that, Codie takes the stillness of Moon to leap out of his lap and dig into dinner.

Moon stays frozen with blue on his cheeks throughout the entirety of dinner.

Every animatronic built has a property plate made of a nearly indestructible metal. Fazbear Corp. is no exception when making sure their property is rightly claimed. When the animatronics from the pizza plex were given their freedom, their property plates were removed and handed over to them to do with what they wished. Moon kept theirs in a small box, hidden away in a drawer.

He would never have believed in a million years that he would want to get it out to make something with it. He had a long discussion with Sun about it, and they both decided it would be perfect for what they wanted to do.

It took several weeks, but when he was finished, Moon thought it was perfect. The small property plate had been polished down and fashioned into two separate flat bands. A sun was etched into one band, a moon in the other, and where the two intertwined into one single ring, an etching of a star.

Though nobody owned them anymore, they were happy to say that they were Codie's, and wanted her to know they always would be.

The look on Codie's face when she misinterpreted the idea behind the rings was hilarious before Moon could calm her down to explain. After doing so, the girl burst into tears, hugging them profusely and quickly putting it on.

"I love you guys so much. It's so pretty!" Codie admires the ring on her finger. "Thank you."

The three embrace again, the whisper of a promise to always be there and love one another unspoken.
